I'd rather be a 'small club' forever than forget our roots and become detached from our community. A commercialised, international Selhurst Park would break me.

I can see where your coming from i really can, don't forget Chelsea were once in that sort of situation. But would i go back if i had a choice, not a chance.

The ref was taking no action until he was surrounded by a sea of blue.

The only time you ever see players surround the ref in the premier league is when there has been a really bad tackle ie stoke games. Don't think PL players ever surround the ref for a yellow card or even wave their hand in the card action. It is frowned upon.

If the ref was going to do his job properly then it was a second yellow simple as that regardless of who surrounded the ref!

Why are you comparing yourself to other teams after such a win? No one has even mentioned any of the clubs you have.

Concentrate on your own team.

I mentioned it because many people on Twitter said "its only Maribor" including Liverpool and Utd fans that is all. No swipe at anyone on here at all.

Ron Gourlay has left the club

Like the majority of Chelsea fans i was not a fan in his early days. But over the years commercially he has got us some massive deals and we are a far bigger brand globally because of it.

I'm in the Chelsea forum. Talking about Chelsea.

Quite distinctive difference.

Point being?? You seem to have taken a great deal of offense at an absolutely innocuous statement because Carl really wasn't attacking any club ... If you really are just looking to get riled up, PM me and I'll troll the Liverpool thread any time. Check out the United thread for my resume :P

Apparently Costa has a stomach bug as well lawl. Hopefully Drogba discovers some of that old magic at OT. He is the man for the big occasion after all

Would there even be any real problem if we were attacking another club? Pretty sure that the idea is to mainly focus this thread around the club and its fans, so having the occasional dig at a rival doesn't seem that out of place. If anything, it's the people that come in and try and pick a fight around some opposition fans having a bit of a laugh that's the real issue.

Diego has a little chance of playing on Sunday according to Jose. Nailed on to start the game then.

Lol ... I seriously doubt it though. No mind games here. Costa is really struggling. Really hope Drogba can show up on Sunday in the case. Remember what happened the last time an ageing legendary African striker played against United? ;)

I see Costa starting, the games we have after Utd are Shrewsbury, QPR and Maribor. Play him Sunday and then give him 2 more weeks rest and bring him back for Liverpool on the 8th November.

We could even play him in the qpr game and he will most likely be fine for Liverpool. He definitely won't be in the squad for Shrewsbury and it is very likely he will be on the bench at most in Maribor.

Idk mate, imagine Drogba winning the game for us at OT or Solanke announcing himself on the grandest stage of them all with a match winning performance .... Certainly some headlines to be had!!! Haha

The point being is what I said. I'm in the Chelsea thread, I'm obviously going to talk about Chelsea. Not Liverpool and Ludogorets.

Jesus Christ get over yourself ... He had one sentence in relation to those two clubs and it was not even insulting

He could play vs QPR but personally i'd like to think we would have enough to beat them even without Costa. Hope Solanke starts vs Shrewsbury!

It would be amazing obviously but if Costa doesn't start i reckon he will play Schurrle false 9.

Will Costa start at United?

I would be very surprised if he didn't. Maybe play get the game won/comfortable position if possible and then sub him off.

Next fixture Manchester United ( A ) on 26/10/14 @16:00 on SkySports.

Our last result at Old Trafford 26/08/2013: Manchester United 0-0 Chelsea.

Our biggest win away at Old Trafford 24/08/1968: Manchester United 0-4 (Tommy Baldwin x2, Alan Birchenall, Bobby Tambling) Chelsea.

Our biggest ever defeat at Old Trafford 26/12/1960: Manchester United (Bobby Charlton, Jimmy Nicholson x2, Alex Dawson x3) 6-0 Chelsea.

Our record away vs Manchester United (all comps): Played-82, Won-20, Drawn-26, Lost-36, For-80, Against-128.

My stats of the game: Chelsea are the only side in Premier League history to date to have a positive record vs Man Utd (P-44, W-15, D-16, L-13).

United have won only 6 of their last 22 Premier League games against Chelsea.
