Really disappointed with Mourinhos comments about the fans support at Stamford bridge. What does he expect when half the people are tourists who don't even support the club and whenever you do try to stand up and make an atmosphere you are told you will be removed from the ground by a steward if you don't sit down. The club should be doing something about it I mean I had a bunch of ******* Poznan fans infront of me yesterday it's a joke as soon as the stewards saw them with their Poznan gear on they should of been denied entry IMO.

I agree with what he said but definitely not the manner in which he said it. On the bright side, hopefully this spurs the club to reevaluate their policies. Reallocating the away fans and not being so **** on standing/singing would be a good start

This is the really relevant point. The last time I went to a game at the bridge, we were told to sit down or we would be throw out because of "excessive standing". Unless you're lucky enough to be in the best seats, it's sterile.

Have to point out though, that I've also noticed this sitting in the season ticket area at Arsenal...

The big issue is the excessive price of tickets. Pricing out the general people who create the atmosphere.

Unfortunately that's because the bridge is a small stadium. So we have to charge high prices do that our match day revenue remains competitive. If we had a bigger stadium, I am sure tickets would be priced more reasonably to allow some of the proper fans inside instead of just people from a certain bracket who are generally not the type to stand up and create an atmosphere

Its not just Chelsea though. Its the entire league. Its cheaper to travel to Germany, spend the night there and watch the Dortmund game than getting a ticket to watch arsenal at home.

Not really.

Premier League ticket prices: which clubs charge the most? | News | The Guardian

That data backs up what I said ... Our cheapest match day ticket is 41 pounds which is the highest in the league

You said bigger stadiums offer cheaper tickets and that's not really true. Arsenal have the most expensive season ticket. My point is, a club's policy doesn't necessarily change when you upgrade to a bigger stadium.

That's because Arsenal's owners are ****** unlike ours ... I am sure he will be willing to lower ticket prices if we move to a bigger stadium because he isn't here to make a profit as he said himself

But lower tickets to what price. £20 should be a max considering TV money etc IMO. But will the tickets be lowered to £20? Doubt it. Even a club owned by the fans (Swansea) still charge £35. Which stadium in the prem still has a really amazing atmosphere?

Agreed mate but at least lowering ticket prices to some extent would allow more people to afford to watch the game instead of having the stadium filled with rich tourists who just sit there and take photos throughout 90 minutes

Anyways I am really happy this issue has come to the fore because it has been a problem for a long time. Hopefully, the club changes some of it's policies in the short-term

The majority of home support in the league is average/bad tbf. Can't think of set of fans that makes me envious

And Selhurst, and Turf Moor, and the Britannia and Upton Park.

Personally don't think upton parks atmosphere is what it was now days. The west ham fans can still be loud at the big games at home against Chelsea, spurs etc but the smaller games they can be pretty average. I'm curious to see how good their home support will be at the Olympic stadium tbh.

Not a fan of Selhurst's myself. Atmosphere feels too manufactured and not natural. A bit like the Germans, even Palace's announcer is copying certain things.

Least we don't have any plastic flags.
