Southampton facing Arsenal, City and United in a row soon after the international break. They will definitely drop points and I hope we capitalize on that
 
Matic is our unsung hero. I love Cesc but he has been caught out of position when we have been defending quite a few times and matic has been there to save him.

How good is he? He's very good. Is he best DM in the world? I can see why would someone think so. He's been excellent! However, for me, Busquets is still #1 :D

Azpi was asked to pick his best 11 which he has played with the other day, picked Matic not Busquets.

Still trained with him and played against him as well ... Busquets is fantastic but on current form, hard to see how anyone can be better than Matic

Cesc has really improved as the season has gone on mate. That crazy Everton game where we won 6-3 was probably the turning point and since then, he has really improved his positional discipline

He has said himself he is loving his role next to matic and hopefully now after having the next few weeks off he will be right back to his best.

Incidentally, he is another player who said he was 'very impressed' with Matic. I really worry about how we will cope if Fabregas is injured for a prolonged period, we really don't have any midfielder with a similar skill-set

Just think it this way. The way Barcelona plays are:
A) relying on Busquets to dictate tempo
B ) To clear up all the mess Barca's midfield and defense make. And they make plenty of it.

If you think their defense is bad now, imagine how would they be if they didn't have Busquets.
Now who's better, that's up to you. Matic is among the best for me, I can see why someone would think he is the best.

I appreciate your points but it's hardly fair to downgrade Matic simply because he plays in a team that knows how to defend :P
 
Neither Matic nor Busquets have **** on Mascherano.

Case closed, you can disperse now.

I can accept that reasoning. Turns out 'best defensive midfielder' isn't as clearly defined term as it would seem :D
