Wasn't De Bruyne involved in some unprofessional conduct while at Chelsea?

I have a vague memory of him refusing to stop eating sweets or some nonsense like that.

That was the excuse Jose gave us, among other things. KdB claimed he quit those and he still got sold. Obviously we don't know exactly what went down between the two, but 6 months is not nearly enough to prove yourself in a team, especially when you barely get to play a few games.
At least we got Salah to replace him, right?

If Branna and Luis are both out tomorrow who are we going to play at right back? Azpi will no doubt be at lb and I really hope zouma isn't moved to the right. Wouldn't mind seeing ake given a big chance tbh he can play full back aswell.

Brana will play, it was only a ****** foot. I just hope Mourinho keeps Zouma in as he deserves it after his performance in the Liverpool game. But you're right about Ake, I would love to see Jose give him more of a chance because whenever I've seen him play he's look very competent in that holding role and I myself would sell Mikel (I hate him) and promote Ake.

We'll never know what really happened but from my memory KdB didn't want to do the work Mourinho wanted from those no.10 types (hence why Mata was sold) and he didn't have the right attitude in training, so if those are true we did the right thing in selling him and from a business point of view we made a profit. Also he might be playing well for Wolfsburg, but sometimes half decent players look even better in an average team.

That may be so, but Wolfsburg is 2nd in Germany, far from an average team in my opinion. I won't mention yesterdays result, because i doubt they will repeat that if they were to play again.
The thing is KdB plays on the flanks, for Belgium and Wolfsburg, hence why I mentioned Salah.

I am not sure what other reason Jose would have to get rid of KDB. After all, he also wants to put the best team on the pitch. If I recall correctly, the excuse was that KDB wasn't training hard enough to merit a place in the team. I mean KDB was saying things like 'I quite coke and chocolate, look how hard I trained'

I would suspect he wasn't ready enough to play for a top club that wants to win everything like Chelsea. But his talent is undeniable and he is showing it in the Bundesliga

Yes De Bruyne has talent but it didn't work for him at Chelsea and that's just the way football is at times. Us selling De Bruyne has never bothered me, partly because he didn't want to do the defensive work and his transfer enabled us to balance the books on the Matic deal and I'd much rather have Matic than De Bruyne.

Funnily enough, he's been doing his defensive work at Wolfsburg. They won last night because of their incredible press on Bayern's backline, something De Bruyne was definitely a part of. Yes he couldn't do as much as Oscar but that is a whole different issue.

We also had enough to get Matic in under FFP just from the Mata transfer.

I am not sure if defensive work-rate was ever part of the problem. It was more about his attitude in training

I hope Chelsea won't disappoint me (at least) on my birthday. I'd rather have positive reasons to get drunk.

Going off the Costa topic how great was Zouma last night? Id like to think he has earnt a run of games with that performance but I won't be surprised to see Cahill back in the starting 11 on Saturday.

Zouma was exceptional, obviously got beat a few times by Sterling on the break but always got back to make the interception

one thing is for sure saturdays game is a lot more interesting now

It is but i'd rather be Chelsea without Costa than City without Toure.

Schurrle has been poor majority of this season but I'm still sad to see him go. Also don't see how it makes sense to decrease our already small squad by letting two players leave and only having one come in.

Salah has played what in how many meaningful games this season, i suspect none. So basically its a straight swap Schurrle for Cuadrado.

I am not sure if defensive work-rate was ever part of the problem. It was more about his attitude in training

That and the fact Courtois stole his other half.

Wow our bench includes Christiansen, Ake, Loftus-Cheek and Brown!!!! Jose hates the youth!!!!!!!

Campaign against Chelsea again?

Hazard kept the ball in, but ref judged not to be, and that throw in resulted in the goal.

#justsaying

What a flap from the keeper, a draw would be decent result for me but in the long run a chelsea win would be better i guess, not that united will catch city anyway :(

Well that second half performance was **** poor, but I'll take that result considering how bad we were.

I'm ok with the result, keeps City at bay, but too much of the game we've played like the little horse. Again, good result.
