As excited as I am about Pogba, I would be more than happy for Chelsea to stay far away from him with the way things are going. Fee and wages for him will be astronomical. We can get 2-3 quality players instead. When we can get a player like Fabregas for £27m then their is definitely value elsewhere in the market. No point paying through the nose for Pogba

Glad to see links between Pogba and Chelsea have been tenuous at best

You could get all of Schneiderlin, Kondogbia and Sissoko for amount Pogba will go for. Also the wages thrown around are absurd.

High profile signings don't guarantee success. Just look at Bale (arguable), Di Maria(based on what he played for Real, he's been very poor), or our favorite, Torres. I would be a hypocrite if I'd say I don't want Pogba playing for Chelsea, but 80mil + wages? **** it. That money could be spend better.

In di maria's defense, he's more of a victim of chopping and changing systems...

He was on fire for the first 5 games then tailed off massively

We could get Schneiderlin, Clyne and Griezzman for not much more than what we would have to pay for Pogba. I know which set of players I would rather have

Don't think it'll be so easy to get Griezmann this season. I'll never know why more teams didn't go for before he went to Atleti. I mean, he didn't even half the links that Munian has, and Munian is still raw.

But yeah, Griezmann has a LT contract with probably a hefty RC. Don't think it'll be so easy..

Reports that he wants a move to Chelsea and we have a good relationship with Atletico so I am not losing all hope. Plus they are interested in Filipe Luis so that could smooth things out a bit

Not gone back through the thread to see if its been mentioned but Nathan from Athletico Paranaese has apparently signed for Chelsea.

Can't say I've ever watched him play though.

Think you will retain the title next season?

I think so!

It's becomming a cliche to say this every year, but next season will be tougher if United, City and Arsenal are prepared to go large.

To answer your question, I think us and Arsenal will fight for it next year. Just a hunch.

My feelings exactly, Arsenal seem to be getting stronger, but I think with Jose and the potential to add more class this season, it could be yours again easily

Looks like Rob Green is close to signing. Not exactly buzzing with this transfer but at 2 million, English, experienced and willing to warm the bench all year round I spose it makes sense.

Not much that can go wrong tbh. He holds down a valuable homegrown spot as well. Decent keeper
