Thought the same as was watching. I really cant see him getting anywhere near that level again. He was physically blowing after about 35 mins. And now seems to have the touch of an Elephant!

His touch is simply embarrasing. I don't know what's up with that.

Dunno if any of you saw Falcao against Fiorentina, but I'm worried for him. Hoping he can find levels in the league again, but he looked as bad as I've seen him since he came back from injury, so far away from the deadly we player we all know.

I actually thought he played rather well against Fiorentina, all things considered. It's a shame he started though, I would've preferred to have seen Remy start and Falcao come on in the second-half with Hazard etc. I'm still remaining optimistic.

No proper new signings to rejuvenate the team. Same old reliance on Fabregas/Hazard. Costa injuries surfacing again. We are not going to win the CL barring a miraculous 2012-esque run. Best we can hope for is to retain the EPL although even that looks incredibly tough

But he is currently so far off being ready it's scary, you'd have expected some improvement on his first touch for example. I hope to be wrong, because he was truly world class and you hate seeing that kind of talent disappear.

Yes, Falcao's way off from being the prolific goalscorer he once was, but I still believe he can do a job for us and he has improved. His first touch against Fiorentina was better than it was against Barcelona. Anyway as far as I'm concerned Falcao doesn't need to find his old form with us, I'd love for it to happen, but realistically all I expect from him is that he performs better than Drogba did for us last season.

Falcao gets the defending Torres once got. Yeah, I don't fall for same **** twice. Sorry.

Yes, but there's a big difference between the two. The biggest difference being Torres cost us around £85m (Fee + Wages) and Falcao will cost us around £6m.

This is one of the most prescient posts in recent memory. Your squad has no real quality depth with Obi Mikel waiting in the wings, Ramirez being 2nd choice in at least two positions etc.

I wouldn't write Chelsea off so easily. The squad may be thin, but it has one thing going for it - its battle hardened and mentally resilient as ****. Arsenal OTOH i fully expect to look like serious challengers only to ultimately crack under pressure. United are a bit of a wild card to me, they're as likely to destroy everybody as they are to barely scrape into 4th place. City I can't take seriously at all with all their main players aging and no serious reinforcements.

Why all the negativity? The last time I checked we still had the best manager and starting XI in the league. Sure our squad is looking a bit thin at the moment, but I'm sure we'll sign a couple more players before the window shuts and it's not like we're the only team with problems.

I hate to agree on Chelsea ..... but I completely agree.

I think folk are getting carried away with meaningless summer kick-arounds. You put 3 or 4 past Swansea, and they flip back again. For all Chelsea's perceived weakness', you're still stronger than anything else out there domestically for all you mentioned.

Precisely. I've never paid attention to pre-season results. Garry Monk's comments yesterday summed up pre-season for me "Man United won every single game in pre-season last year and we beat them at Old Trafford on the opening day. So Chelsea's form in pre-season means nothing. Teams are experimenting, organising and preparing.".
