Chelsea 5-2 Portsmouth

Result says it all really, an excellent win for us and even more pleasing was that Lucas Piazon was again the thorn in Portsmouth side where he constantly a thorn in their side beating defenders with ease and he played an excellent ball to release Islam Feruz who scored our 2nd Goal. He played a part in another 2 goals and was unlucky not to get on the score-sheet himself, one particular chance was when he beat two defenders but saw his shot brush past the post.

I really think that if Piazon continues such performances we may see him making his first-team bow next seasons :)

Lewis Baker was excellent as well and got his name on the scoresheet and Islam Feruz not only won a penalty for us but also scored a goal as mentioned above. He has been scoring loads of goals for us this season Feruz.

Nathan Ake was solid at the back and he even did well to create a couple of chances for the forwards

U-16 Ismael Seremba played very well too, gave the Portsmouth LB a lot of problems

Anyways the team looks good and well-gelled so I hope we get a good run in the FA Youth Cup this season, particularly have high hopes for Piazon, Feruz, Nathan Ake and Lewis Baker

‎720 minutes since Rooney's last goal.
620 minutes since Suarez's last goal.
455 minutes since Torres's last goal.

Just saying

Well done Jacko. You made 2 players to score. Thank you. Now if Torres can match it I will be very happy. Only against City though, then he can go back to his Chelsea form ;)

awesome, Rajkovic is an excellent CB and lets hope we can bring him back to replace Alex instead of buying a new CB

Yep agreed!

Havent seen much of Rajkovic apart from a few pre season games this season. Anybody know how well he is doing at Hamburg?

He's played well. I remember him making a couple of mistakes, but on-the-whole he's been 'solid'. ATM though he's injured (not serious I don't think), so he didn't feature in the 0-0 draw against Mainz today, but I doubt he would have anyway because Bruma and Westermann are Fink's first choice CBs.

Dan Bu (https://twitter.com/#!/dan_bu) seems to think it's unlikely though. I'm not sure how true this is now, but I presumed he said it in the press conference, don't know though.

I wonder how Ulises Davilla is doing out on loan? Currently has 15 goals in my third season as Chelsea on fm :D

not that good, he is playing for the Vitesse Reserves and is not getting a chance in their first-team due to the amazing attacking talent over there but he has been netting regularly for their reserves so he should get a opportunity to prove himself soon :)

Please x1000000 beat man city on Monday and keep our record.

As a Chelsea fan, I do feel a lot of sympathy for Torres and the **** start he's had to life here, but he has brought it upon himself really and thats what really bugs me about him. I can't see him getting any better at Chesea and I would love to see us bring a striker that fits our system like Falcao or Cavani being brought in by the manager rather than a good striker for a completely different team in terms of style of play being brought in by our chairman.

I'm not a fan of statistics re:Torres/Rooney/Suarez.

Torres has 5 assists in the PL/UCL and Rooney has 2, if you didn't know the players and just looked at the stats on paper this season you would assume Rooney was the finisher on the shoulder and Torres was the false 9 playing in the hole...

If you let statistics tell you how good a player is then Kalou would be deemed to be better than Amauri on minutes-goal. When clearly Amauri is World Class and Kalou is Belarus class.

Kalas is getting a run in the Vitesse team now, back to the Chelsea point, he's doing well. He's getting games at centre back and right back which can only help him. Davila has struggled to settle in Holland, a peculiar reason for why he struggled at first was that Vitesse thought he was 3KG short of being physically competent to play 90 minutes. So I'm assuming the reason he hasn't being playing is that they were attempting to build him up onto European fitness levels. The sort of thing they'll be doing is what Atleti did with Aguero when he moved over from Argentina, they had to completely redesign his diet - cutting out red meat/changing portion sizes - to get his physical shape onto European levels.

Van Der Wiel deal looks like it could be on in January, looks like De Boer has told him if the offer is right the club will let him leave. Can't think of a better target for RB, him or Vitor Gomes are probably the best options out there.

I'd like to point out that a lot Torres' assists have come from situations where he's either bottled it then passed or been able to lead the line. Rooney doesn't have that, he's more reliant on excellent movement and passing to get his assists.

Not sure how Essien being fit affects a Modric deal I'm guessing it's a smoke screen to make the club look stronger in oppose to'we can not buy him. the price is ridiculous'. The Pereira comment was interesting about the price, the only reason Pereira extended with Porto was on a Da Costa assurance that in January/the summer the price would be lowered. With Porto out of the Champions League you would assume their players would be available, such as Fernando/Moutinho/Pereira. I think the door is still open on that one. The fact he mentioned Pereira as cover for Cole alone and said Bertrand was enough would suggest he is lining up a new left winger that isn't Pereira surely...

Marchisio paid tribute to Lampard as well earlier this week, said he was an influence in his development and praised him heavily:

''Lampard is a great champion accustomed to scoring, this is my first season instead. Certainly, my past as striker in the Youth Sector helps me not to lose the goal habit. In the previous seasons, I covered more in defense and I ran a lot. Now I’m more clinical when I approach the goal. I previously played in several positions thus being able to expanded my experience: now, I’m taking advantage of that.”

I've seen the similarities between them for a while, Marchisio works hard for the team and arrives late in the opposition box. He's a fantastic midfielder, he wouldn't suit AVB's style of football either so in that respect we can't blame Lampard being old as a reason it doesn't work with him in it it's simply the style of player.

Eduardo Vargas is a name to watch in the January window, perfect age for a move to Europe and his club will let him move on. Chelsea look like they're interested in him, whether they're as interested as Inter/AC/Porto/Schalke/Valencia/Juventus/Lyon is another matter. I like the look of him, think he is a potential star especially in the Premier League. He's physically ready in my opinion, he'd make a good backup striker in any case and he can play on the wing. Chilean Footballer Of The Year winner this year and nominated for South American Footballer Of The Year. Big future ahead of him.

Jamie what about Robinho in January?

Im hearing that a possible Tevez deal with ACM would unlock another possibility of Robinho moving? I wouldnt mind him tbh. I mean he can play in #10 position as well as winger. And playing Robinho on the left lets us play Mata in #10. Interesting.

If you asked me a week ago I would have said possibly, the problem is with Cassano injured and Pato's continuing problems Milan do need Tevez.

If Milan go to a 4-2-3-1 (Something they have to do with Tevez, the 4-3-3 is redundant) with Tevez off Ibra and Abate/Pato/Robinho wide. I can't see Milan letting Robinho go given the current situation they have with forwards.

I would say David Villa is more likely, not saying Villa is likely but it has never been more possible.

A lot of stories of dissent in Spain about Villa from arguments with the fitness coach to him throwing his boots around the locker room. I think Villa would want to move on, Barcelona would probably move him on if the offer came in. You can see with Cuenca/Fabregas wide that they have abundant options on the wing and for Villa's wages (tier 2) the club expects more.

Then you factor in the Torres/Mata links and the fact it would allow AVB to play a 4-3-3 system, it looks plausible.

But for me the key signings is a left winger who is left footed and a central midfield playmaker.

If I was controlling the transfers I'd sign Griezmann (24 million euros pricetag), De Bruyne (10 million euros) and either Montolivo or Moutinho (Mont- 18 million euros, Moutinho - 30 million euros).

Bastos will be available again so he could be someone to keep your eye on if Pereira deal really is dead in the water.

aye. Having considered Robinho's words (that he still has unfinished business in England) I thought what the ****. :D but obviously not likely as you said.

Moutinho over Montolivo in a heartbeat. Moutinho is harder worker and he'd make a **** of a partnership with Ramires and Meireles imo.

If Robinho goes anywhere in 2012 it will be Santos. They want him for their 100th anniversary. Seems unlikely now with Cassano injured.

They'd probably be my preferred choices with the current players available. But, imo Moutinho over Montolivo, but I'd take either. Griezmann would be great, very exciting player, and none of them would stop a possible move for the two players I want the most - Götze or Hazard, well, I'd love both but that would be even more unrealistic as it already is (I doubt either will come unfortunately :( - probably Hazard to Real and Götze another year at BVB, but with Hazard I'd say we have just as much of a chance as everyone but Real). I'd also add a right back to that list, unfortunately vdW looks like he's Valencia bound, but I'd like somebody preferably 20-24 who could act as back-up, but soon takeover the RB spot.

Moutinho would be a better player for Chelsea. Montolivio is too hit and miss. The type of player he is, and what role he plays, if he was that good, he wouldn't be at Fiorentina. I can't see much happening at the club in Jan, other than those leaving(Anelka, Alex, maybe Drogba).
