For goodness sakes, talk about an overreaction.

Chelsea lost to a decent team that were outfitted specifically for the purpose of beating you. In fact, we were pretty much tailor-made for the purpose. There's no shame in losing to Villa. Bad day at the office, move on.

PS: That said, lolololololol

Ok, good win. grats. now shut up. **** this forum is full of trolls. how mane times Ive trolled into your thread? not sure you have one anyway but still.

But you've been pretty woeful all year and this match just highlighted all the inherent problems within the club/squad atm. We should not be losing 3-1 to Villa at home, with our only goal coming from a penalty. We should not be so lacking in ambition, creativity and drive that we fail to really cut open a packed defense more than twice in a game. We should not be selfish enough to take pot shots rather than trying to work the ball. We should not be bringing on our hungry striker, desperate to prove himself but with a fragile sense of confidence, and playing him out of position. We should not be so devoid of passion that we allow ourselves to slip not into a state of overconfidence but one utter lethargy. We should not be leaving the ground in droves because our team is losing and we want to get home for tea 10 minutes earlier. We should not be looking at teams like Fulham and Villa, shrugging and hoping for a lucky goal or one from a set piece. We should not be in very real danger of falling outside of the top 4.

Very little new happened today and it's not like that defeat to Wolves last year where you wondered how we can possible be that bad. What did happen was all these niggling little problems we've had all year all rose to the surface at the same time and made us look like fools.

I agree about how many fans are overreacting when this is a period of transition but I hope you can see why this is so ******* frustrating to watch.

Can I know what made Big Ek to field such an attacking line up? I was surprised tbh.

the whole bolton team has been awful this season, how is Gary supposed to perform well when he is surrounded by poorly performning teammates?

By doing his job, which he hasnt been doing. Zat Knight has been the better of the CBs. Lets hear that again. Zat Knight.

this is no chelsea ffs.

its getting worse and worse
avb must do something immediately seriously.
roman is on his last nerve I presume. so am I.

I highly doubt that. I'm sure Roman is very unhappy at recent performances but he knows that we need stability.

yea. dont tell ME tell Roman.

I doubt we are gonna splash out.. theres been reported an amount of 140-150 mil to be at the disposal of AVB, but thats ridiculous.. utterly doubt that. so we'll see.

It's rumoured that's for the summer, not January.

BTW, I was absolutely fuming with that result, but I have to say the last 10 or so pages have cheered me up a bit. Some of the rubbish that has been posted on this thread...

Aston villa have scored more goals at Stamford Bridge this season than Fernando Torres.
laughed at that

Full marks to Villa for a very well deserved win (although i hate to say it with godcubed around). This was arguably the poorest performance i have seen in years from Chelsea. Couldnt break them down so we went back to long ball which dosen't work because Villa had 4 natural centre backs playing. Really annoyed with the team and AVB today, only player who played ok was Luiz funnily enough.

U mad bro?

Get over yourself. We haven't been "woeful" all year: we've been average. It's ridiculously arrogant to say that you "shouldn't" be losing to another team, a decent team at that, in one of the most competitive leagues in the world. What, you expect to only lose to opposition you deem equals? Rubbish. Football springs surprises every now and then. Reeling off a list of 'we should not's is silly, since everyone in football gets what they deserve. You're going through a state of transition. Perhaps you'd prefer it if AVB kept playing a deep line and watched Chelsea's squad get older and older, attempting to rage against the dying of the light with less and less success as time goes on?

You haven't been made to look fools, you've lost to a team that has been invigorated by the return of its top scorer, the improvement in it's darling striker, and bolstered by a few promising youngsters. There is no shame in that. Who knows, next time you might come up against a big team, and you might trash them. Until then, saying this is a disgrace is hasty in the utmost.

I'd assume the fans. Still, it wasn't necessarily inherently attacking: we did play four centre-backs, for example. Difference is, Agbonlahor wasn't isolated, and Ireland had a cracking game, which makes us seem much more attacking than normal.

By doing his job, which he hasnt been doing. Zat Knight has been the better of the CBs. Lets hear that again. Zat Knight.

O'Neill was right!

Makes sense that Luiz played well. Dealing with quick, pacey players is something he's naturally suited to. You might've done better if you didn't have Terry and the mighty pace of Paulo Ferreira on the pitch too.

!

I found this team was better attacking than previous ones. When N'Zogbia was going off I thought it will be for a defender but it was for Bent, I was like WTF is wrong with Eck. Talent is there, just need proper tactics, yeah Ireland had good game, probably his best in Villa top?

The years over and Torres has scored more league goals for Liverpool in 2011 than he did for Chelsea.

How about that for a stat huh?

With Godcubed on this one. Villa have been average which is surprising as they have some very good players like Petrov. Free kick against Everton anyone? But not woeful. Just need some consistancy. They do have some very good youngsters coming through. There's a reason why I hate matchday when we have Villa.

It wasn't a free kick if I'm not mistaken. He just smashed it in, the *******.

Ah rite. For some reason thought it was-my bad. Sadly I just can't forget it as it was an absolute pearler

I feel sorry for AVB, he's a good manager but the team he has at Chelsea is mostly past their best now. Abramovich needs to give AVB time and back him - he's brought in some good players (Romeu, Curtois - both doing well) and some prospects (Lukaku) but he needs some players who can slot straight into the 1st team.
