If that is the case then i hope Drogba starts because there is no leadership or knowhow there.
I don't think it's all doom and gloom at the Bridge. I would rather be in their situation than ours. They have some real great young talents coming through. I think AVB needs to be given the green light to dismantle the squad of the older players, and I can see Chelsea being a real force again.
I'm more incredulous to the fact the player of Lampards calibre and experience has to ask his own manager to start him.
Lampard and AVB dont get on, but then Lampard is a bit of a passenger these days on the pitch.

Yeah but still. Even when he's been injured and been dropped, he's still managed to put the ball in the back of the net 11 times. He's the sort of player you'd expect to start with this sort of match. I think so anyway lol. Still, there may be a sudden change in the selection.
Well, the rumour is that he went to AVB and said he SHOULD play, and then stated the reasons for why he should. Which, if I was AVB I'd be very insulted, and I find it very arrogant from Lamps. If I was AVB in that situation, and I'm going to guess (if true) it was quite a heated discussion, with Lamps demanding to play, and saying why he should, well I'd most likely send him back on a plane to London, and I don't know, maybe fine him a week's wages.
Lampard has acted like a child these past few months, and I find it very disrespectful to not only AVB, but the fans and the club, and even his fellow players. I didn't think Lamps was like this, but it seems he overestimates his (current) ability a LOT(not the old Lampard of course, who is one of the best players in the history of the PL.)
Lampard is one of my favourite ever players, and that won't change, but he needs to realise he's not the player he once was. He's good, but his all-round contribution has not been enough, though he does offer a goalscoring threat, and I would have personally started him today. I've realised that he's no longer the same, as have a lot of other fans, even if a lot crucify AVB when he doesn't start him.
Obviously though this is all hypothetical because we don't actually know whether or not the rumours are true, and there's a strong chance we won't. I can see all of the Lampard-AVB events unfolding though when Lamps leaves us, I'm sure he will reveal all then. I do hope that he accepts his new role at Chelsea because I'd love to see him retire with us, but if not, this might sound selfish, but I hope he does not join another big league, I would enjoy watching him in the MLS, though.
Still the most likely to get a goal out of nothing.
But he affects the overall set up, and not necessarily postively
