What a win. Nou Camp next up. A clean sheet too. Defense was solid, Chelsea took their chances, Barcelona didn't. Good win. Possession is nothing, they may have dominated possession but its the scoreline that counts. COME ON CHELSEA.

Messi had some dangerous runs but was closed down within seconds. Wasn't a big threat for Chelsea.

oh......... so close.

good result. now we should not get carried away. the hard part still remains.

Think the sudden downpour screwed up Barcas passing style too-could clearly see the ball going much slower in places

Nou Camp pitch is much bigger though, great effort to keep them level (despite them missing 4 very easy chances). Cahill was exceptional in the second half, Di Matteo deserves credit for the way they set up.

Maybe this luck in the first leg means it is Chelsea's turn to reach the final... but you have a double hard task next week on that pitch in the Nou Camp, might prove too much.

Oh and Cole > Baines for Euros, that performance proves all.

Cahill was brilliant and MOTM for me.

Also think Fabregas played really well for Chelsea and should be in contention for motm, He did his best to **** up Barca's attack. Still has Arsenal DNA you see. :p

Barcelona need to change something for the next leg, Chelsea don't. They defended superbly. Not getting too carried away, second leg still to come, a very tough one. One goal at the Nou Camp would possibly win it for us.

Hopefully Mata will be playing central next time, wasn't much of a threat on the wing tonight.

Barca dont need to change anything, just have to finish off their easy chances.

I think if David Villa had of been playing it may have been different for obvious reasons (bearing in mind his return date is set as 22nd April)-he is world class. But still, to beat the worlds biggest club, so soon after playing a domestic fixture is pretty much....classy itself

It was a good win for Chelsea but bear in mind... Barcelona missed 4 very easy chances on an extremely tight pitch. At the Nou Camp there will be much more space and you will probably get cut open much more often and I can't see you holding out with only a slender 1-0 lead.

Oh and where are the Raul Meireles boo boys now??? He was immense for you, gave a few balls away at the start but apart from that, faultless.

Maybe, maybe not. Huge credit to Chelsea though, counter-attack looked superb. Do that at the Nou Camp, defend like that again and possibly final here we come but not getting too carried away. The hardest task is the Nou Camp and to beat teams like Barca you need to pick up a bit of luck on the way. The way we defended showed why we deserved it for me.

Always thought he was good, played excellently taking control of Messi. That's why we need to get a goal at Nou Camp. Then they need to score three.

A goal at the Nou Camp is crucial, very crucial. Just praying Chelsea just don't sit on a 1-0 lead in the next leg.

Get a goal again, defend like that and I can't see them getting three but as I have said very, very hard task. Not going to get ahead of myself yet.

But once again, great defending. Great determination from Chelsea and they showed how much they want to go the final.

i'm afraid thats exactly what we gonna do. if we open up at Noucamp we will most definitely get torn apart.

GET IN!!!!! Been getting abit too carried away but **** it we beat the worlds best team. Even if we still do go out which I'm sure almost everyone is expecting at least we can say we have beaten Barcelona this season. How many teams can say that?

Torres, Drogba, Sturridge, Lampard, Mata and Kalou have scored 63 goals between them this season. Lionel Messi has scored 63 by himself.

Drogba 1 - 0 (Messi+Pedro+Sanchez+Fabregas+Iniesta+Xavi)

I will say one thing. If RDM gets Chelsea to the CL final, and beats Madrid/Munich....Roman should give very, very serious consideration to giving him the job on a permanent basis. If the back four do at the Nou Camp, what they did tonight, I'd be very confident indeed.

On any given night, any team can beat another regardless of stature.

A lot of people wrote Chelsea off, but I always felt they would get at least a draw tonight. Can honestly say I'm not that surprised. They did the same thing against Arsenal, twice. All possession, loads of chances, didn't take them. Their poor record in England continues.

I think he should get it regardless of the champions league performance from this point onwards, have been saying it for months.

Great performance. We're getting the 'Chelsea were lucky' comments a lot but we can't go out and try outplay them, that would be suicide.

IF we get through I reckon we really have a chance. After all we would of just beat the best team in world football.. Nou camp is a whole different ball game though. I was confident we'd get a win tonight, not so much at the Camp Nou.

Well, he's already showed he's a more than capable manager after his spell at West Brom. When we lose our manager, I'd have no qualms whatsoever if he became gaffer at Goodison if he became unemployed-which I sincerely doubt tbh judging by what he's done so far at Stamford Bridge lol.
