It wasnt Jose, it was the players, leading up to the game there was a near revolt. They wanted to come out and play football. Madrid also has the best firepower of any side in Europe. Chelsea dont. Chelsea need to score, but going on the offensive isnt going to work for them.

No wonder Jose hates Madrid then! I never actually knew about that, only time until he leaves for another club to be honest. If Barca got 4-5 CCC's in the first leg on a really tight pitch with Chelsea playing defensive I just feel Barca at the Nou Camp will be a step too far, but they have nothing to lose so good luck to them, I hope as a lover of English football they get through to the final, but even if they do Bayern/Real are a different test completely and both of them are stronger sides then Chelsea, so not sure how they would approach that one.

Chelsea would cope better with Bayern/Real, bit more of an even keel, not going to get killed by a possession side.
If Chelsea score, i give them a chance, if they dont, i think they are going home.

Yes its not all rosy in madrid, despite where they are in the league.

Bayern were much better against Real, surprisingly tactically out thought them. I guess thats why Jose took the loss gracefully.

Where does that come from?. Is it from the Spanish journalists that make up **** as they go based purely on their hatred for Mourinho for stopping the leaks from the locker room?. Like the one who claims Mou whispered something to Coentrao in the middle of the picth of Bernabeu and Casillas then answered them with a cell phone from the goal?. The ones that say one day free kick goals mean **** when Ronaldo scores one, next day when Messi does freekicks are the quintaessence of football?. The ones that when Ronaldo is leading the goalscorer charts say the "Pichichi" is just consolation for pathetic losers and when the next game Messi overtakes it suddenly write how Messi is a demigod whose value is revealed by the prestigious "Pichichi" prize?. In short, the Spanish journalists who wish a more manipulable coach to be there and write not information but inventions based on their wishful thinking?. You know, the same that past season revealed how Mou had reserved places for his sons in Lugano's school...

(If this comes out with a touch of aggresiveness, which is not in my intent, I assure you, it would be for the Spanish journalists.

Yesterday I saw some, who back at Samford Bridge robbery wrote things like "Chelsea are very bad losers, they should learn to accept results" when the English club and their fans were outraged by all the polemic referee decisions, now that Barça lost justly to Chelsea (let's not compare one penalty shotout by Iniesta with all the ones you had back then) they're indignantly writing that it should be banned to defend like Chelsea did, waaaaah waaaaah waaaaah waaaah.

Seriously, the imbecility of out sporting press, actually any press with just a very few exceptions, is really irritating.).

Agree with a lot of what Death Ball posts. It's unfortunate that they want to start this drama, but then again, if you have nothing to write about as a journalist you won't be a journalist for long...

Oh, and something which made me smile

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba was ‘injured’ for 6 minutes 30 seconds against Barcelona | Football News »

Didier Drogba’s various ailments held up play for 6mins 30secs during Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final first-leg against Barcelona.
The great stat has been dug up by the Daily Mail. They have clocked all the time the Ivorian spent rolling around the ground. And it turns out that it was a very effective way of running down the clock against Barca, even if most of it did come before Drogba had even bagged his goal for the Blues.
The Mail’s Drogba Watch reports:
First-Half
4th minute: Penalised for a foul on Sergio Busquets (Down for 12 seconds)
14th minute: Clashes again with Busquets, Barcelona play on before Carlos Puyol puts ball out of play. (Out of action for 70 seconds)
34th minute: The Ivorian goes down under a challenge from Puyol inside his own area, exaggerating the contact the defender’s boot makes with his face. (Down for 12 seconds)
35th minute: From a Petr Cech goal kick, Drogba goes down after an aerial clash with Busquets (Doesn’t feature for 110 seconds)
38th minute: Drogba falls to the ground winded and lies prostrate on the ground. “He needs to get on with it,” says Andy Townsend on commentary. (Down for 60 seconds)
45th minute: Goes down theatrically under challenge from Puyol. (Down for 15 seconds)

First-Half total: 4 minutes 37 seconds
Second-Half
51st minute: Tries to slide tackle Lionel Messi. (Down for 2 seconds)
65th minute: Draws a foul from Javier Mascherano in the view of referee Felix Brych. The defender indicates he thinks the striker dived. (Down for 3 seconds)
67th minute: Suffers what looks like a groin injury in challenge with Puyol. Brych stops play. “Drogba goes down yet again,” says Clive Tyldesley. (Down for 100 seconds)
86th minute: Booked for a slide tackle on Messi. Lies on the floor in a clear attempt at time-wasting. (Down for 10 seconds)

Second-Half Total: 1 minute 53 seconds
Total time wasted: 6 minutes 30 seconds

Chelsea have been great in the FAYC final 1st leg. We have such top, young players.

Again has a lot of talent, he must have if we paid a million for him. Personly in terms of young strikers at the club Lukaku would be top followed by Feruz, Bamford and then Kiwomya. Kiwomya is the youngest but does have a lot of talent.

Kiwomya's a few months older than Feruz. Kiwomya has talent, but nowhere near as much as others, IMO. His pace is immense though.

I do apologise, Jacko. I mistakenly thought that Kiwomya was older than he is (thought his Athlete Profile said "1995", not "1996". Still, I don't believe he has the same potential as others, but for his age he's very good. And like I said in the post I've quoted; his pace is immense.

I wouldn't say a 4 goal lead is done and dusted at youth level, anything can happen. But certainly a strong performance from the lads, Kane & Feruz were really good in particular.

If you can't be them join them:) When Drogs was on his feet he caused all sorts of troubles for the Barcelona defence. Come on Drogba, you're immense when you stay on you're feet!

Nathaniel Chalobah was impressive as well although it was truly the Islam Feruz show. The lad is a excellent player and at the rate he is going, I would not be suprised to see him making a substitue appearance in the Carling Cup next season

Roberto Di Matteo: Has won 11 points in his first six PL games in charge at Chelsea - 2 fewer than Andre Villas-Boas managed in his first 6.

Bring back AVB? ;)

Bertrand never ceases to amaze me. He MUST replace Ashley one day. Gifted player.
