It makes perfect sense. Remove the rule and its the yellow cards that have no sense. There's no point of booking the players if it has zero impact. Same with wiping the bookings at any stage. If someone got the yellow , tough luck,he propably deserved it.

Ref making a mistake is a completely different issue. They should just thoroughly review all the cards using video replays, but that propably wont happen within our lifetimes.

Again you ignore the fact they openly stated it was too harsh, and have changed it for the Euros, and are considering a change for next year. What seems to annoy people is that if you have changed it for the Euros, why not change it for the CL this year?

And it would still have an impact. Just not one that is overkill.

The yellow card rule needs changing, the fact that they changed for the Euros show they actually acknowledge it. It doesn't make sense that you miss the final for picking up 3 cards in 10 games, especially when its not even your fault (Alaba).

Should be wiped before the Semis. Then if you get 2 bookings in 2 games, then you miss the final

I disagree. I think the rule is fair. Wayne Rooney has managed 44 games for Manchester United and has picked up just 2 bookings along the way, and he is known as a temperamental player. It's ridiculous to say 3 yellows in 10 games doesn't deserve punishment. If you look at the diciplinary rules for the big nations top leagues, they are at pretty similar ratios if not more severe -

England - Suspensions after every 5 yellows (38 game season)
Spain - Suspensions after every 5 yellows (38 game season)
Germany - Suspensions after every 5 yellows (34 game season)
Italy - Suspensions after 4, 4, 4, 3, 2 & 1 etc. yellows (38 game season)
France - Suspensions after every 3 yellows (38 game season)
Portugal - Suspensions after 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1 etc. yellows (30 game season)
Holland - Suspensions after 5, 2, 2 etc. yellows (34 game season)

The only rule I would like to see changed is the inability to contest and rescind decisions that effectively ban players unfairly.

I don't see how's it fair that you can make 3 mistimed tackles across an entire tournament and miss a final. Especially if teh card is wrongly given and there is no recourse.

The tournament is shorter, and as such a punishment has a much more significant effect than one in the Leagues. Red cards are different story.

I also agree yo need to be able to contest cards, all cards not just reds.

I understand where you're coming from., but the players on two yellows go into the game knowing that they cannot afford to get another one though, so in my opinion, deserve the punishment if they commit the crime. If they can't win a game without resorting to limiting the opposition by foul play, they probably shouldn't be in the final. Chelsea have a few players suspended because they couldn't cope with Barcelona, and the manager couldn't afford to rest them for the second leg to avoid the possibility of suspension. For me, these tactical dilemmas add to the excitement of the tie, and I think it adds more intrigue to the final now as a result of the susensions.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be disappointed if I were a Chelsea fan, but it's far worse when a player is wrongly suspended because of a poor refereeing decision that cannot be appealled (eg Darren Fletcher's)

Didier Drogba: Simply Unplayable

Very nice article on Didier Drogba. The best striker in the world in his prime for me and till today, when he is in form he is unstoppable. Best striker Chelsea ever had no doubt and if he leaves this summer, then Drogba is up there with the likes of Henry and Shearer; one of the best strikers the PLM will ever see

They played together on Gary Cahills debut I believe?? or was that Ivanovic alongside Cahill?

The Howard Webb show was the Gary's debut and he played alongside Luiz. (3-3)
The second game they played together was against Birmingham at home. (1-1)
The next game they played together was against Napoli away. (3-1)
Also against Bolton at home. (3-0)
Against West Brom away. (1-0)
Birmingham away. (0-2)
Man City away. (2-1)
Against Wigan at home. (2-1)

No i don't think so, will be either a 4-2-3-1 with Kalou and Sturridge/Malouda on the right or a 4-3-3 with Essien dropping into the midfield and Mata out wide. Fantastic impact sub though if needed.

4-2-3-1 is a better option to be honest, but RDM knows best (I HOPE).

Love the fact Juup Heynckes has took a little dig at Drogba, last man to do that was Rafa Benitez and Drogba replied with 2 goals!!

Important thing is for us to retain our defensive shape at all times and track Bayerns front three who have a habit of overloading one particular part of the pitch to open up defences. The good thing for us is that Bayern will inevitable leave space behind which we can exploit on the counter with the pace of Kalou, Sturridge and Mata

Also another thing to note is that when Bayerns front 3 find their space limited and chances few and far between... they turn against one another. They are a talented squad but their not the best of pals

Lampard 'People think at #cfc we ring up the owner and say who gets the manager's job! It doesn't happen!'

Media....jumping to conclusions, well i never
