Ive heard from a few people that Van Der Weil is just like another Bosingwa? Anyone seen him play quite a few times and know how good he actually is?
Could be a good deal. More than good enough to cover for Ivanovic and will give us an attacking threat from that position, something we will lack once Bosingwa leaves.
Question marks over his defensive ability though but I think he is good
Chelsea fans are way too harsh on Florent! All seem to be forgetting 09/10 when he was our second best player and was tearing the **** out of teams. Has been a good player for Chelsea overall I am still a fan of him.
Guess I was bang on about Chelsea using CL money to pad out their finances.
As I said to Carl, going in the right direction, still a long way to go.
Samsung deal up for renewal this year. And I fully expect they the deal to be an improvement on the old one. Main thing for the club is still the stadium and naming rights deal which they are pursuing
The whole FFP thing has me so confused.
Could someone please try and clear it up for me? Also what are the consequences of not meeting the requirements?

Like Bosingwa indeed, good attacking but defensively poor.
I think thats the reason why some are hard on him, we have seen what he can do but he never done it on a regular basis.
Very smart way and as i said when it was announced FFP was coming teams will find ways around it.
We did indeed, seems as if we were both right about how we would get around it.
I have heard we are pressing Samsung to make an improved offer.
Basically in my eyes it will keep the bigger clubs big and make it harder for the smaller clubs to catch up and have a chance of success.
Am interested to see how he does, will look at some of his stats in a minute and post them to see how he compares to other known right backs.
Can't be worse than Bozzy's lol.
He looks in a right mood lol.
Think people are very critical of his defending to be fair, he is pretty decent at it and he is only 24 so plenty of time for him to improve. His attacking ability is very impressive however. Would add an extra dimension to our attack if signed. Ivanovic on the other hand is a fantastic defender but not very good on the attack.
So again depending on the opposition, Van Der Wiel will give us another option should we need one
I would still of chosen Azpilicueta over Van Der Wiel personally.
You're not getting around it, just complying. Nothing wrong with using your CL revenue, in fact thats the whole point. Still a gamble mind

Most clubs pay for deals over a period of time. Except City and Real Madrid. It's a gamble which is within the rules and pretty smart if you think about it. Instead of paying for deals upfront pay a little upfront and the rest over a sustained period. I think that also allows you to offer more because it's easier to pay which makes the selling club more likely to sell. Very smart indeed.

Everyone will have to if they want to spend big from now on then, well that's until Uefa bring in another rule banning clubs from doing this.
That pay over period of time is not way around or way to comply for FFP. It's the way Uefa count every transfer towards FFP.
If player signs on a 5 y deal for 50m transfer fee Uefa will count it 10m per year for those 5 years eventhough Club might pay it upfront.
But some clubs do it anyway as its easier to handle in finances, United amortise fees over the length of the contract, which is why its wages, and not fees, which drive our transfer business.
