Just been looking up and Rio Ferdinand was found guilty of improper conduct in relation to a comment made on Twitter. "The commission decided that the comment was improper and bought the game into disrepute. In addition, the commission found that the breach INCLUDED A REFERENCE TO ETHNIC ORIGIN, COLOUR OR RACE".

Carl, he wasnt charged under rule e1 (2). We just said this, of course it did it had a referecence, he retweeted the choc ice tweet and said haha yeah good one. retweeting such a thing was improper conduct. had he posted it himself he may have been charged under e1(2)

His full re-tweet was "Choc ice is classic, hahahaha!!!!. That is repeating it, all i am asking for is some consistency that is all.

In all fairness to Cjacko he did use choc ice in his tweet "choc ice is classic" but I don't really see how that changes anything really. 6 other players have been charged with improper conduct with reference to sexual orientation on twitter and all been fined. The precedent is a fine and not a ban. To moan about inconsistency is nonsense.

But he did not call directly Cole a choc ice, that would surely have got him a heftier charge. And as you say no one has been banned on this. It actually would have been inconsistent to give him one, though i maintain he is lucky not to get a game ban.

Yeah that was one of the mitigating factors that went his way which led to a 25% reduction in the fine, according to the report.

So there is a level of racism now is there? Could have fooled me, I thought racism was racism no matter the extent.

I'm with you on that one.
If Suarez gets an 8 match ban? Terry should get an 8 match ban.

No because Suarez used the word more than once that is why he got a longer ban.

Going by your first post, Racism is Racism and both should get 8 games ban.

I don't remember saying there are levels of racism or even alluding to it?
All I've said is that the precedent for Rio Ferdinand's charge is a fine. He got a fine. I can't think anything any more consistent than that.
Also, none of Terry, Suarez or Ferdinand have been found guilty of racism.

So saying a word once only makes you a little bit racist? Saying it a couple of times and you are super racist?

You spend a lot of time arguing about injustice. It's a lot easier to accept it, realise that you don't have a team of perfect players, and that you can still support your club as a fan while criticizing the errors of your players.

The sooner more fans call their own players 'diving bastards', 'racists' and 'cheats' (when justified) the sooner they might listen to some of their adoration fading and take note.

This is a faux argument over a bigger issue of how you should identify with and support your club, and whether it's possible to overlook the indiscretions of players if they're valued to the club. It seems some of you believe that just isn't possible, and you deny it even happened and start feeling 'everything is against you' and they have a vendetta; even when those responsible look at the case in much greater details than any of us have access to, and still find something wrong.

You said Terry shouldn't get longer ban like Suarez.

Suarez was found to have said it 7+ times. I actually think 8 games was far too much on the fact of being un-educated. Ban should be 4 games 2 for improper conduct and double that for the racial intent. It's just a joke neither brother was banned too that's all, i would totally accept the JT ban if that was the case.

I am not worried about losing him for games as i and most Chelsea fans trust Luiz and Cahill. And we did call our players on diving in Robben and Drogba and it worked (robben left and Drogba towards if latter years cut it out abit).

But you said there are no levels of racism. You say one time or 100 times, it't still racist slur and should get same games ban?

Not that I support the above points, just using your own logic.

Its not a joke. We have repeatedly demonstrated why they were not banned.

Well in my opinion your demonstrations are not good enough. Rio was charged for the same thing Terry was but only given a fine, you can see why some people see this as unjust.

No, absolutely wrong. Rio was not charged under the same thing. the rule covers ALL improper conduct, from talking about refs to racial abuse. What matters is the specific charge under that umbrella Terry and Suarez were specifically charged under a section alleged abuse involving race/color FA Rule E3[2]. This is absolutely not the same as Rio, so your sense of injustice is totally misplaced.
