Very typically for accuracy of my predictions in this thread, i praised Lampard after last game so he just had to be completely **** in the next one.

Let's see if this works: there is no way i'm winning milion $ tommorow.

Also, yeah - bad choice? What? You were playing bottom table club at home, where exactly would be better time to let best players some rest? The squad Rafa picked on paper should still be serious title contender.

There hasn't been enough rotation in Chelsea's squad this season to begin with, poor Mata even on rotation duty always ends up on the pitch to chase the score. Hazard looks burned out for a while as well. Overall a lot of these lads are still relatively young and shouldn't be playing 3 times a week.

Chelsea's attack completely crumbles if Mata isn't on the pitch and the other side just sits at 40m and stays relatively tight and compact. Game becomes fest of desperate longshots from unprepared positions, pointless crosses to a dwarf, and Torres falling over every 3 minutes.

Luiz failed in a way that even I thought he wouldn't. I thought he'd be bad positionally and not read the game well enough.

As it happened, he just turned out to be *****.

So Ba is a Chelsea player it appears, but won't you be without him for a few months due to the Africa Cup Of Nations?

Therefore you are stuck with only Torres as a striker if so.

This really needs to be sorted out. We arguably have 3 superb players capable of playing the no.10 role, so it's baffling that we're still relying on Mata so heavily.

Because Mata is the best in the world at that role. Hazard is more of a direct player. More of a guy whose strengths lie in taking a player on and stuff

The fact that you don't have a different approach springs to mind, no out and out wingers to offer true width to a game.

Oscar should have been able to cover for him. Hazard is mroe direct, but can still pick a pass. But you still amazingly have no width. Griezmann should have been bought by now, but ideally you should have primarily defensive midfield two that allows the full backs to push right up the touch line. Instead with Luiz and Lampard, your platform disappeared.

Width = holes. Depth = space.

To be fair to Oscar though, he is still learning and this is his first full season here. Like most Brazilians, he will need time to adapt to the EPL.

No doubt Hazard can pick a pass mate but his mentality is more geared towards taking players on and beating them with tricks, speed and acceleration whereas Mata is more of a guy who utilizes spaces to try and play others in rather than take players on himself.

We need a central midfielder desperately. Hopefully we sort it out this month as we have already wrapped up a striker in Demb Ba.

Hold on...Doesn't Ba disappear for ACON this month or is it next year?

This is what I'm wondering, I know the ACON is this year but not sure if Senegal have been disqualified or something for riots as someone mentioned earlier?

The fact these lads are young suggests they could and should be playing 3 times a week? They are at the peck of their fitness.

He was so poor, done a bit of research last night for all the Mikel haters and people who believe Luiz should play Mikel's role.

Here's a set of stats for the "Luiz is better in midfield than Mikel" believers. People argue Mikel never plays the ball forward (which is a lie but nevermind) Luiz only completed 38/53 attempted forward passes, not great. You may then argue at least they are long passes and not 5 yards only, 1/6 successful long balls says it all. Basically he is giving away possession far too much and far more than Mikel ever does. Whether you think he only passes sideways and backwards (which is wrong) or only passes short or slows up play he keeps hold of possession and I'd take that any day of the week!

Players perform badly? Better blame Rafa!

Rafa gets credit when we beat Everton, Villa and Norwich so he deserves some of the slack when we lose surely?

This is what I'm wondering, I know the ACON is this year but not sure if Senegal have been disqualified or something for riots as someone mentioned earlier?

They are not competing 100%.

Either of them should be good enough to beat QPR though. I'm not asking them to replicate the amazing creative power of Mata in all the biggest matches, but against such limited opposition, they should both have more than enough to pick the lock.

I think your underestimating just how good Mata is mate.

The side put out was better than the Liverpool side that tore QPR apart at their place. How you didn't win is mind boggling and the blame rests with the players

I'd say Moses is an out and out winger.

But he can't cross and he likes to cut inside and shoot way too much for a out and out winger.

Says it all that his best performances have come when playing on the right side when he is left footed (I think)
