Spurs sign Souleymane Coulibaly - ESPN Soccernet

I thought he was a star? but Spurs? Seriously? Oh, i get it. I forgot they were a selling club. in 4-5 years when he will be a star, they will sell him as he has already made a transfer request :)

Too early to judge players like that, he was **** hot in the World Cup. But, let's not forget Neil Mellor's goalscoring record is still unbeaten in the Reserve's league...

Heard Chelsea have made a 40million bid for Alexis Sanchez?

i personally think we have no freakin chance of landing this player, but if we DO get him, i;ll be running naked aroung the Bridge for like an hour or something. but meh, dont think he is coming ;> he likes Barca and apparently they like him as well, so..

BTW, Jamie, anything interesting on sanchez?

Too true, also read who he is compared to in the article... FSP, hardly a star

But still lets give him plenty of time

well the lad obviously has some potential of being something special, like Drogba 2 or 3, if we assume Lukaku is 2, rofl. anyway, he impressed in WC and now all eyes on him I guess.

Just watched that monster of a show Celebrity Apprentice on BBC1 and about to tuck into one episode on White Collar I just put on my memory stick to put in the TV and spotted people talking about Sanchez.

Sanchez-Barce is done, done and done. Deal will be announced on Tuesday/Wednesday this week, also the Bojan/Jeffren deal's should be announced/decided on Wednesday/by Wednesday.

Jeffren is interesting, Sevilla had a 3 million euro deal in place with no buy back but Bolton have come in and Gartside personally flew to Barce to submit their 5.75 million offer and talk to the player himself. Top talent and Jeffren has flew out to meet up with Bolton 'staff' in America which is ludicrous as a notion but I think he is set for BWFC. Nice hijacking by Phil/Owen, top talent as well think he has the makings of a brilliant winger.

Erm Sanchez-Chelsea is a no chance in heller, Chelsea DID outbid Barce for Sanchez funny enough by quite a distance of around 5 million but the player turned Chelsea down and insisted to Pozzo that he would only talk to Barcelona. Jeffren was meant to be involved in that deal but Jeffren was insulted by Pozzo's offer of sending him on loan to GRANADA for a year, Pozzo family also owns the Spanish club in addition to Udinese.

Anyway I am actually disheartened at the minute because the sense I am getting from Lampard/Squad is that there will be no radical changes and maybe 3-4 signings maximum including De Bruyne/Courtois/Lukaku.

Oh Lukaku deal is in place the problem at this very minute is in the initial fee Anderlecht want paid to them but they are happy with the overall deal, this should be done when Anderlecht finish their pre season tour of Portugal I think it is. When Anderlecht sign Jovanovic/Prica Chelsea will complete the signing of Lukaku mark my words.

De Bruyne deal is tied up, 6 million euros and back to Genk for a year...

Bastos' agent is in London, I have a gut feeling Chelsea are interested and might be talking to him...

WE NEED WINGERS.

Mata's gone quiet, Pastore wont be sold to anyone until August I would suspect, it's all about waiting out Zamparini until he is willing to cave in on his fee demands.

Lucho Gonzalez will be in Italy or England next season, confirmed via his agent which means a Malaga deal has collapsed...Not CFC but possibly AVFC/THFC interest I would imagine.

Shaqiri-One to watch.

THFC involved in an auction for him atm, no word if we are in for him but Hamburg are the front runners for the kid and Schalke/THFC/Fiorentina not far behind.

Any other potentials?

Not really, unless AVB moves for Diego which I would welcome but unlikely...

Chelsea moving for Ganso is a bigger possibility imo.

One to watch is Ganso-Chelsea, MUFC interest is probably there but CFC are best placed to sign him through Roman's developed trust with Santos and their executives. Think it's a 20pct chancer.

All the noises from Chelsea are that there is no need for radical change...I would argue very much otherwise.

Anelka, Drogba, Kalou can all be sold in my opinion and that's the start of what I would call a 'freshen up'. With Lukaku there is no need for Drog anymore, the guy is not the same as what he once was. Anelka should be already out imo, if AVB goes down the route Carlo did of putting faith in personnel already there it could cost him his job because last season those players were horrendous over the season but people seem to forget that.

Wingers/Creative midfielder/Defensive midfielder=Should be priority.

I think Bastos story has legs, almost signed him under Scolari and with his price being criminally low I can see AVB signing him for LW=, I would hope so anyway.

Lyon need to sell alot of players, currently being restructured at the minute and are selling players that are on either big money or want to go (Cissokho).

Anyway now I am definitely off for the night, after White Collar.

Jamie, AVB is loathed to make any changes until the end of tour IIRC, so expect little over the next fortnight

^Yep.

Just disheartened at this very minute about the way it is all going, after that Dispatches show tonight I think it would be wise if Roman started getting some contacts in Asia/Europe to maybe loan/sell some deadwood. Get Joe Sim on the phone AVB he will 'sort it out'...

Think Forlan story has a bit of life in it, more will become clear around the 29th/30th of July in my opinion and with the Copa America drawing to a close soon you can bet your last nickel there will be alot more movement in the market.

SkySportsPeteO Pete O'Rourke: Reports in Germany claim Chelsea are interested in Bayer Leverkusen's Chile international midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Dont know how reliable this Pete O'Rourke is I just saw this posted on facebook.

could be true.... we definelty need more CMs, just having Modric wont be enough and thats if Luka comes

we need creativity, creativity, and creativity much more than DMs, I already said we have Mikel, okay some of you dont like him, but if he works hard he can be our diamond there. i watched him the other day, he performed well(as most of the times). I dont see a problem there + if we buy a DM, like Vidal for example, that literally will mean:'We obviously dont need you Mikel', which would be dumb as **** knowing he is a solid player. I said earlier that i was done discussing that, but i couldnt resist, really, how you are disregarding a player like him. anyway, we will see what will happen.

Courtois set for Atletico

New Blues keeper shuns old club for Spain

that is good, gaining some experience is never bad

I think Vidal and Mikel are completely different players though. Mikel plays the 'water carrier' role very well, just as Makelele did, but Vidal will burst forward and has an eye for goal. He's more of an Essien-type player, I would say.

Vidal is not a DM. He is much more than that. He is a box to box who can also dictate game from deeper position. He has scored 14 goals and around 15 assists in the last season alone. He is one of the best CMs, shame that no big clubs are going for him. Only matter of time before he gets the credit he deserves..

He's versatile, has the skills to play anywhere. For Leverkusen he plays as a trequartista, for example, albeit with his own spin on it. Can even play full-back well.

Agree with both Sunil and fuelledbypassion that he isn't a DM, but I still agree with BH because who will he come in and play instead of? It will be Mikel I would think and then we have Ramires who is a box-to-box. Vidal is a player that I would welcome at Chelsea, but I wouldn't say he is needed, a playmaker is much, much more needed. If we were to get Vidal I won't be too displeased as long as we introduce rotation because it is something that in recent years we never have done and we always seem to become predictable

Yeah he is very versatile. Have seen him many games playing Box to Box role which he is excellent at. I still dont know why we are not going for him as he is easily better than our CMs plus we may get him for around 15 Million as he has only one year left on his contract and he wont be signing new one.. Will be big miss for sure..

Oh not to forget his shooting from range and penalty taking ability.. One of the most complete CM in Bundesliga.

Yeah, he could adapt to playmaker, but saying that so could Lamps. We need a natural playmaker, rather than buying a player and not playing him in his natural role, which you'd think is where he would play best.

What? u mean #10? a playmaker? lol. like Xavi, Sneijder etc?

Lol, I'm yet to say with confidence which is his natural position. From what i have seen its Box to Box role..

Similar to Xavi in that he plays from a deeper position, Sneijder likes to play a more advanced role. If anyone, I would see Vidal forcing Ramires out of the team rather than Mikel. He'd be more of a direct replacement for Essien, but I personally don't see you going for him when you are clearly targeting Modric, and already have Mikel, Ramires, Lampard, McEachran etc

Yeah whenever I've watched him he's been box-to-box, but that's no more than perhaps 10-15 games, so I'm not positive.
