although its pre-season and i wont get carried away the performance was much better today minus Anelka and Kalou. Even Hilario made 3 excellent saves!!! But without doubt the best player was McEachran by a country mile, never miss placed a pass and looks much better playing further forward in the 3. Mikel was very impressive today also and i think with him in the side it give Josh the license to get forward.
Agree'd. Hilario really impressed me also Brana's goal was very nice and I hope Josh gets more games this season if he performs like that!
Any news on Pastore? We look most likely to get him but it's all rumours with their crazy chairman.
I read this about Zampa: 15 managers at Palermo since 2002, sacked 35 since he started out in football in 1987.

Yer Brana's goal was insane but expect the unexpected with Brana, easily one of the best defenders worldwide. I know their chairman is abit trigger happy but personly if im Pastore i would think Chelsea is the better option but who knows.
Thought Brana was the best myself. And about McEachran I don't think he plays better at either of the two...yet, so for the next season or 2 we should play him at either; covering players or coming in when they are out of form and see which position he plays the best in. Kalou is always a bit slow to get going, so I'm not too worried about him and Anelka was just like he has been the past few months - very slow in the build up and poor decision making.

Better but the players like Anelka are showing their age. Pastore is in the pipeline with Lukaku but new wingers are essential imo, look at MUFC/AFC wingers age's and compare them to Malouda. We have literally 2 natural wingers in Malouda/Kakuta, surely AVB see's we nee 2 new wingers under 28. Malouda and Anelka seriously need moving on to Ligue 1/MLS/Turkey, past their best and ruin the build up play. Grateful to the 2 of them but CFC need to be ruthless if AVB has a chance of winning the title/UCL.

Chelsea needs new RB & Pastore. Simple
We only need a RB if Bosingwa leaves, which is looking unlikely atm.
BTW is the support thing actually who you support? City, Chelsea and Real? Like big spenders?
Naah, Bosingwa aint good enuf for my taste.
He's good, poor defending, but we need an attacking rb - Bosingwa because he's very good at attacking and a defending rb - Ivanovic and one to cover - Ferreira. Ideally I would like somebody younger instead of Bosingwa and who can defend better, but it's looking unlikely and we definitely don't need a new rb if he stays. 4 RBs is completely unnecessary, although Ivanovic is more of a CB, he will most likely play RB.
What Chris said. Your clearly blind if you think a fit Bosingwa/Iva isn't good enough to cover RB. I think we will get, Pastore, Mata, Marin, Moutinho, De Bruyne and Lukaku. Think there will be a few kids from Spain as well, Alcacer, Muniz, Jimenez, Borja all realistic targets. We did enquire for Sergi Roberto but FCB wouldn't sell. Wish we sign who I said because if United get Sneijder/Poli we will need all that new blood.
Ferreira shud be disposed as well as Bosingwa and sign someone like van der Wiel. Ivanovic acting as cover for both RB and CB then.

If we got Pastore, Mata, Lukaku that would be a good summer in my eyes. Winger and creative player sorted with the 'future Drog' finally at the Bridge.

Yeah they're the three that I definitely want. Pastore and Lukaku are more likely, but Mata would be great too. If we bid the right price I'm sure he'd join despite Valencia saying he's not for sale and Mata himself saying he doesn't want to leave.

Mata will be allowed to leave if the price is right - don't listen to the Valencia president, he's changing his mind constantly and Mata doesn't want to leave, but he will if the right club comes calling.
