But Villas-Boas, talking to Portuguese TV station Antena 1, said: ‘Joao Moutinho is, without doubt, a super footballer, but we are very competitive in that area.

“The injury to [Michael] Essien has changed my plans, but with Oriol Romeu [who's been signed from Barcelona] we have a player who can increase our level.

“At this moment, I don’t need to think about more reinforcements. That will only happen now if we suffer any more setbacks which, of course, I don’t desire.

Confirmed.

Portugese TV was where he gave the interview,

Can't read too much into it but seems to rule out a move for a deeper player.

We still need 2-3 top players coming in IMO, especially with City we were level points last year and although we played poorly they've spent 50 million and more to come and we have spent....12 million on 2 youngsters.

We need an advanced midfielder and IMO at least 1 new winger preferably 2.

Defence is fine on paper, with alot of depth.

Rajkovic has impressed AVB, I'm not surprised, Work Permit hearing is expected to be within the next 10 days. Really hope he gets it, our defence is fine especially with his versatility across the back line. Trying to find the above quotes...

Quotes about what? Rajkovic impressing? If so I think you're talking about the one that I posted yesterday or the day before.

Oh, scrap that, you were referring to Moutinho, my bad.

Look up Chris ^

Was confirming Metro quotes and I just read his quotes on Rajkovic...

I confirmed those metro quotes anyway above.

Ah if its about a deeper player then I agree, I jumped the gun and thought he meant no more signings XD

Just to point out, Fergie ALWAYS says 'at this moment' when signings are likely. Typical phrase for managers, not ruling out just saying not at this very minute.

Also he no commented on Pastore interest, when asked of Zamparini he said ''let him talk, we don't discuss players at other clubs''

Which got overlooked, but still very interesting.

hey just heard we might go back for Modric with another offer? wtf. i dont want spuds to get 40 mil for him. WTF!!!!!

josh and torres with the trophy. =)

I think the story was Gourlay said he will discuss targets with AVB face to face when he's back in London (mainly Modric)

PLEASE DON'T BUY HIM.

That money will be used by Spurs to buy Llorente/Mata guaranteed, SHOW SOME SENSE.

What happened in January?

That 50 million went to Liverpool and allowed them to get Suarez/Carroll, FFS Roman LEAVE MODRIC ALONE.

Exactly, there is so many more CM's or AM's that we could get albeit not as good and not proven in the Prem but Moutinho, Martinez even take a punt on Sneijder (my minds gone blank when thinking of potential players) that can/do play higher up and probably cheaper without strengthening our rivals.

Ganso said in the past week Chelsea are a fantastic club with amazing players, but he didn't think it was possible to move.

He's not possible until January at the earliest and likely to move to Milan.

Martinez, Valbuena, Moutinho, Guarin, Gourcuff....List goes on.

Bastos possibility isn't dead.

from that shortlist i would pick only moutinho. sorry. the others i dont think will make any big difference or will put something special in the midfield.

You also didn't like Pastore though, do you like anyone?

Caughtoffside saying were in for Meireles, i know it isn't true but could that be a possibility?

Guarin/Moutinho/Martinez would all add something. Valbuena is very under rated IMO, very creative advanced player with pace. And Ganso is a PERFECT replacement for Lampards role but it's very unlikely we'll sign him. Douglas Costa would be brilliant and has a pricetag set to Roma of €19m. Broken record...

I would love for United to do a double raid on Moutinho and Martinez if we eventually give up on Sneidjer

I'd take Gourcuff or Moutinho from them, the others are good, but I feel they would add the most to our team. Ganso would be good, but his destination looks obvious. Others who I'd like would be Pjanic and Hazard (and others, but mind's blank). And on Hazard; do you think there's a possibility of him leaving? I've heard that he is 'transferable' but I've also heard he's definitely staying for another year. Do you know which is true, Jamie?

i like a **** of a lot of players, just when im trying to like someone, im actually trying to find out whether that player will make an impact on our squad and make it better, or just to buy someone because of his name and waste a lot of money.

ive expressed (couple of times) my opinion on possible targets.. Snejider, Moutinho, Ganso(not that possible, cuz he expressed his intention of playing at Milan), Hazard, Mata, Modric(but not for 40mil ffs).. and many more.. but not that possible targets. and we if Sneijder is not that possible as well, we can make him by offering 40-45 mil and good wages.. i dont see the problem here. but obviously Gourlay and Roman think otherwise...

Genuinely I think Lille wont sell him unless a 40m/ridiculous offer comes in. Lille have said he/Sow will not be sold, I tend to think he's considered not for sale at all. Pjanic is a brilliant shout, alot of talent and his main suitors are Lazio for €14m. Any of the players mentioned I would welcome tbh, I personally think City will sign De Rossi so he's not viable.
