Just weighing in on the transfer situation.... the Pastore deal was disappointing but glad we did not try to match PSG's 43m valuation of him, finally some sensible dealing going on around the Bridge..... Zhirkov going to Anzhi is also disappointing but tbh he would not have had a great impact over the coming season either way and he is on the wrong side of his 20s, right now I will be happy with a creative midfielder and either Mata or Adam Johnson in, still do not understand why AVB is not looking at Moutinho or Guarin and we can get both of them far less than what we will have to pay Spuds to get Modric, well Gourlay has said he is going to be sitting down with AVB this week and I certainly hope to see some movements by next week
Where did PSG get that money from! Also rumoured in getting Berba aren't they?

PSG just got bought by a Qatari Family or something like that
plus we can get Moutinho and Guarin for a combined total of 36m if I am not wrong------- Brilliant Buys and we can get Arturo Vidal for 25m tops

Vidal has already gone to Juventus for about 12 million euro's I thought?
The owners have 60 billion dollars so the Pastore buy was like a trip to the mall for them. I'm glad Roman didn't point at the same thing during his annual trip to the mall though.

How many here would have jizzed had Chelsea signed Pastore? Just that he signed for PSG, well done Chelsea for not matching the price.
He will be a great player if not one already. I for one will be very happy to see him at PSG rather than City or Chelsea.
Last week Alcaraz was **** bent on porving why Pastore will/should choose Chelsea over PSG, now well done for not signing him..
If Moutinho signs for other team I can see the same trend..

Would've loved Chelsea to get Pastore, he's just what we need and £37m isn't THAT much considering his age and massive potential. If he had a choice I think he would've chosen us, but that's irrelevant as Chelsea decided not to match PSG's offer.
As for the wingers being discussed (Turan, Bastos etc), I would rather just go all out for Mata. Arsenal missed their chance to get him for around £14m and now Valencia can demand what they want, although he does have 1 year left on his contract. Another option would be Greizmann. Looks very promising and wouldn't command a massive fee I should imagine.

Totally agree, spot on. Thought he had more than 1 year left though? Mata's price will be about 25 million now I would think, but that's still a good price the way the prices are atm.
I'm kind of getting used to the fact that I think Modric will be our new playmaker. Which I didn't want, but if he plays more advanced like he did at Dinamo Zagreb then I won't mind, but not going to go through all of that again, because I did that yesterday on a BBC thread about him. Would have preferred Pastore though, but if we get Modric and Mata then I could settle for that, as they would solve our winger and playmaker problem.

I don't know how reliable Gab Marcotti is but he said Mata has 1 year left on his contract and that Arsenal were unsure whether to make a move due to the uncertainty surrounding Nasri and Fabregas (Nasri in particular).
Regarding Greizmann, Barcelona were interested in him before as a backup if they failed in their pursuit of Sanchez. He's currently at the U20 World Cup with France if anyones interested in watching him. He had a decent game last night, as did Kakuta who seems to be the forgotten man at the minute.
