I think I've mentione half of Europe as potential targets! Toni Kroos is the latest mid target, I want Ilicic. Under rated player. Think Moutinho move is on, I expect Defour to move to Porto soon and that clears the way IMO.

The media really dont think things through with rumours do they. The last i heard Pato was seeing Burlasconi's daughter who i believe is on the board at Milan and one day will run the club so why would he move?

Also Milan have sold/selling Cassano, why would they sell a young fan favourite for 30m plus Sala or Anelka?? Ridiculous rumour.

Its a joke of a rumour and lazy jounelism, basicly the media have no idea who Chelsea want so they are picking names out of a hat. But this is no lie yesterday i heard the worst rumour i have heard ever in my life ever. It went something like this.

Harry Redknapp does not want to sell Luka Modric to Chelsea because he will take his nephew's (Frank Lampard) starting place at Chelsea!!!!! Seriously what the ****!!!!!!!!!!!

Romeu deal completed, Chelsea website is down so maybe why SkySports are running abit behind on it.

i was just thinking of the players we directly signed from Barca and how good they were for us etc and the have been pretty decent. Albert Ferrer and Belletti were immense for us and Deco and Zenden were pretty good and done not much wrong. Cant think of anymore at the moment but im sure there are more.

Winston Bogarde? He was terrible but it was at the very end of his career

Emmanuel Petit? :D

Indeed, he was decent for us. Nothing special but done a decent job. I think the morale of my point is that when we sign a player directly from Barca they do brilliant or just ok.

Lol. Pretty random point - if we sign a player from Barcelona he does "OK" or "brilliant". So Romeu could be either...

Also - apparently he has a buy-back clause in his contract, and Barca have first option of re-signing him if that falls through. So essentially Chelsea have signed him on loan for 2 years. Have fun with Cesc saga v2!

Quote from FCB website:

"The deal includes a buy-back clause of 10 million Euros after a year, rising to 15 after the second year."

Its the same with Bojan's deal too

I know. It's essentially a development loan - Chelsea/Roma give Barca's youngsters playing time so they develop quicker and if they're good enough in 1/2 years time, Barca simply buy them back or Chelsea/Roma have to pay twice as much as the player is really worth (Roma would have to pay - in total - €40m to sign Bojan permanently).

Pretty bad deal for the buying club IMO. But great for Barca.

EDIT: I look forward to Jacko's reaction when Xavi and co. pop up in a year's time saying Romeu has Barca DNA and is simply on loan at Chelsea - like Cesc is apparently on loan at Arsenal. Except this time - Xavi will actually be right.

''We just got *cked.''

That 'Cesc Fabregas clause' is so degrading to the buying club it's unbelievable, Rosell already has been criticised for it by the ECA. Barcelona really are unbelievably arrogant in their transfer business...

I do bring one ray of hope, we do have a 'clause negation' clause of our own, we can buyout Barce's first option and buy back clauses at any point in 5 years for 22m euros...Originally suspected it was 15 but an update reveals the first option after 2 years clause will cost an extra 7m.

So overall Romeu could cost us around 27m euros.

ECA really aren't happy with this clause becoming more frequent, expecting fireworks.

Then again, now we know how that little Swiss/French club feels when they get metaphorically raped by a big European team for their top talent... Doesn't feel so good does it?

Jamie.: Exactly. But that "ray of hope" means you end up paying far more than he's really worth. Bojan - bar something incredible happening - isn't going to be worth €40m in 2 years time. Romeu - however good he may be - almost certainly won't be worth €27m.

And you know if Chelsea resist, Barca will simply kick up a fuss and tap him up like with Cesc...

Let's hope he becomes as good as Cesc...

Personally I doubt it.

And let's quit it with the respect. Barca don't need to show Chelsea respect. We agreed to the deal, we could have said no, but we didn't. Barcelona are doing clever business.

Really don't see a problem with buy-back clauses and if a club agrees to it then it's their own fault, not the seller's.

The problem Roma fans in particular have is why not just call it a loan?

They feel in limbo, and you find yourself not rooting for the player to do too well because Barce will come in and buy him back for peanuts.

And I am fairly sure he is not as good as Fabregas but different players, Luis Enrique has said Romeu is a better midfielder than Busquets so he must have something about him. I have seen glimpses in Barce B tapes and if there is one attribute I can spot straight away it is an unbelievable composure to his game, on and off the ball.

Barce and Rosell need to show humility, not so much respect but humility.

ECA genuinely not happy with this at all, think in the next meeting this will be on the agenda. Alot of figures like Rummenigge/Galliani/Heynckes already complaining about this buy back clause trend.

Madrid have done it with Pedro Leon as well at an arguably worst price but I gather that's fine because...well...it's Getafe and not Chelsea/Roma/Sporting.
