Hello critics i wonder what they will say tomorrow haha. Lamps has just made everyone who has written him off feel so stupid its actually so funny. That isent the funniest thing i have heard today though Utd bag 5 at Bolton and they are hailed, Chelsea bag 5 and Bolton are poor typical lazy untrue anaylis. Sturridge in the first half had so much space it was getting stupid, Lamps lets his finishing do the talking yet again and is still one of the best finishers in the world today without a doubt. Drogba turned provider again today which shows the other side to his game which has always been good but is getting better. Defence was solid appart from the goal which is dissapointing because we look vunrable from set-pieces. I actually said before the free-kick was taken that JT had 3 players around him and suprise suprise it was one of them that got on the end of it. Very happy with the performance and result and i say keep on writting off Chelsea media and other fans, we love it like that.

Lamps is still on the decline as a player, doesnt make him a bad player, just not as good as he used to be. And i stand by the fact he shouldnt start for england, we dont set up in the way he plays for chelsea

I dont mind if he dosen't play for England. Like you say he has always been expected to replicate for country what he does for club and that is unfair. No-one will be happier if he isen't in the sqaud but i presume he will be. He may be on the decline but we are talking about a seriously super human physicly fit 33 year old. This man is like no other 33year old in terms of fitness and he has shown it this week with his ableness to get up and down the pitch. 175 goals for Chelsea from centre midfield is just unreal and i'll go on record to say no other centre midfielder will ever score as much as he has not a chance, the man is bionic seriously.

he is supremely fit, but it's starting to catch up with him, AVB will d what SAF did with Scholes and Giggs, and manage his fitness; and chelsea will reap the benefits

Exacly, Giggs hasen't lost his ability to ghost past players and set up attacks and Lampard wont lose his ability to arrive in the box unmarked and finish better than most strikers.

I wouldnt start Lampard for England, but still have him in the squad.

Lampard proved a lot of people wrong, but he's still not my choice for England or vs the likes of Barcelona. He still has a heck of a lot to offer versus the likes of Bolton/West Brom but he will get caught out versus bigger teams. The quick style AVB plays just doesn't suite him especially in a 4-2-3-1, but versus Bolton when Chelsea can afford to control the game a bit more Lampard can get enough time to get in the box and finish off moves. His finishing has never been in doubt, never, but his legs and on the ball ability are where the questions have been asked.

Glad Luiz started as well, great to see him being eased back in on all fronts. Drogba played a good support role but it would be nice to see him bag a few goals, at least put a bit of pressure on Torres.

As for the defending set pieces issue coming up again, that needs sorting as soon as possible. Never looked vulnerable under the past 3-4 managers and I know the stepping up half-man marking system AVB is adopting will take a while but maybe senior players may need to have a sit down with him to talk over the issues (Thinking of Terry). Too many spaces that the crosser can hit without a challenge, midfielders marking so far has been pretty atrocious from set pieces seems like they're not sure on their exact roles defending a 35 yard deep wide free kick.

Well if any CM takes penalties every time, plays behind striker and plays with such a talented team, that player can.

Today saw one stat that with out penalties Lampard averages 9 goals per season.

Great player though. I'm not taking anything away from him. Only Chelsea player I have respect for.

One of the best attribute he has got is to arrive late and find himself in goal scoring position. You can't take away that from him unless you play him deeper. It just shows what an intelligent player he is.

Although i agree with all your other points i dont think that one means much, penalties arnt that easy to score otherwise none would be missed.

Yeah but nonetheless free shot at a goal. You score mote than you miss.

What a way to answer his critics... seriously other footballers need to take a leaf out of Frank's book, left out of the team for 3 of the past 4 games and he does not moan or anything like Saha even though he probably has much more reason to than Saha, he keeps his head down and works had and when his opportunity comes he scores 4 goals in 2 games, a true model for any young footballers

Now hopefully the press stop going on and on about him because he may not be one of our key players or may not find himself in the team all the time but he still after all is one of the best footballers the PLM has ever seen

Super Frank- Chelsea Legend!

with respect

After the excellent video of Josh in England U21 training he has been sent back to Chelsea due to a slight hamstring problem. Huge shame as he needs the minutes.

There is going to be some opposition to our proposal to Chelsea's bid to buy back the land on which Stamford Bridge sits on and I thought i could summarize it here to see what everyone thinks:

1. CPO shareholders are unhappy they have been given less than three weeks before the vote on the matter at an EGM, planned for the morning after an away game at Everton.

2. Many CPO Shareholders (Chelsea Fans) are unhappy with the offer itself despite the fan incentives offered as part of the deal along with our promise to write off the 10m loan that we made to CPO way back in the 90s so that they could buy the freehold land and protect it from property developers, some them believe they should be granted greater monetary benefits if they are to sell

3. And then there are few of them who just do not want to leave Bridge at all, despite the fact that with such a relatively small stadium we cannot compete in terms of matchday revenue etc. with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal and thus, we have to keep hiking up ticket prices which makes it difficult for us to even sell out Stamford Bridge and we have to rely on expensive advertising along with other mediums to ensure we have a full stadium particularly during CL matches

So Thoughts? I just think a move to a bigger stadium is needed. If we do not move then we will never be able to compete with the big clubs in terms of revenue which will continue to hike up our costs making it more difficult for some sort of financial stability to be brought to the club. Yes Bridge has a great history and Bruce Buck and Gourlay have tried everything they can to expand it but due to modern safety issues and well as costs, it is just not a viable option. I think that if the CPO shareholders know what is best for the club, they will vote in favour of selling the freehold land after the Everton Game and its not like they are being asked to sell for a pittance.. they are getting some great incentives such as season tickets, promises that a new ground if any will be close to Stamford Bridge as well as having their names inscribed on a honour list at our new stadium if it works out. And most of them do not realise that if we continue to stay at Bridge, we will have to continue increasing ticket prices every year to stay within sight of the big clubs.... hopefully we get to hear a positive result soon

Essentially the new stadium will be financed partly by the sale of the freehold land, Uncle Roman and bank loans if it works out. Well thats supposed to be the plan anyways. If we cannot subsidize the cost of the new stadium with the sale of Bridge then we will never see a new stadium anytime soon

Ideal world, the location would be Earls Court.

White City is a bit small for my liking, doesn't give the sort of potential to build a 55k+ modern stadia, at the moment the proposed capacity at White City in any ground share is around 45k. I just don't see the point in building a modern stadia for a top 4 club, with a capacity of 45k. The facilities will be modernized but considering Feyenoord, who admittedly probably have a bigger fan base, are working on an 85k capacity with the potential for 120k capacity shows that really Chelsea should be aiming higher. 55k-60k capacity modern stadia is achievable on a site, Warf/Wormland are not really the sort of real estate you would want for a football stadium. Wormland because, well, it borders on a prison and the Warf dock site is rather small.

I get the geographical implications of moving south of the river to Nine Elms but it is a beautiful spot for a stadium, and Old Oak common is being snapped up by the government as a rail hub for a new fast speed line through London. White City/Nine Elms are the only viable sites, and I'm not a huge fan of a move to White City it's just a bit scaled to what Chelsea should be looking at.

If the only option is White City, I would rather stay at the Bridge. Like I say, if this was seriously thought about 10 years ago Chelsea could have moved and developed Earls Court into a 48k+ capacity stadia.

Chopper Harris has had his say on the whole CPO offer. He makes a good point that if it was even in doubt it does show that Roman is here to stay and his intentions are good.

Euro 2012 qual. - Eurospot: Sturridge snub is nonsensical - Yahoo! Eurosport

Good article on why Capello was wrong to leave Sturridge out.

To be fair though, Dan has just returned from a minor injury and although he did play the full 90min against Bolton, I think Capello intentions are to secure the point against Montenegro and then give the youngsters a chance in the friendlies... I just think he does not want to take too many chances in the Qualifiers considering that if we do not secure a positive result then its all the more hassle for us

Dan should make it the Squad for the friendlies anyways and maybe him being left out may do him a world of good, make him work harder so that he can keep on performing like he did against Bolton and bang on the doors for the National Team

On a side note, Toddzy Kane and Jamal Blackman made their England U-19 Debuts today along with NT team mainstay Nats Chalobah... was hoping Billy Clifford will get some match time but alas it was not to be

Apparently in an article published in the metro, Pedro Leon states that Jose Mourinho blocked a Chelsea transfer move for him this January

Pedro Leon reveals Jose Mourinho blocked Chelsea Transfer Move

Unsure of him really, seemed like a really exciting talent when he joined RM but from then on, his career has gone backwards to say the least
