I agree with the Drogba red card and the Bozzy one was 50/50, the main issue was the ammount of yellows he chucked out and some of them wearn't yellows. Also with the Everton game being Chelsea's next if he wanted to he had a chance to influence the game and he shouldnt have been the ref Sunday simple as that.

They were just poor decisions...

No conspiracy theory here. (That is if that's what you're implying. :S)

No i dont think there is a conspiracy (im not a Celtic fan). Im just stating he shouldnt have been allowed to ref that game because of his affiliation for Everton who are Chelsea's next opponents.

Funny side story about John Terry came out today, a pet shop had advertised that John Terry would be opening their store...

There was so much attention and publicity that turned out to open the pet shop that Terry actually had to release a statement saying he never agreed or intended to open a pet shop...

"There appears to be some confusion regarding my attendance at an opening of a pet shop today in Surbiton. For the avoidance of doubt, I had not agreed to attend the opening of this or any other shop today.''

"I had been asked if I would consider the opportunity and declined on two separate occasions. That is as far as the matter went. No agreement was made for me to attend or any plans put in place by me or the football club. Any advertising or announcements to say I would be attending were made without my knowledge or consent. I very much regret any distress or disappointment that may have been suffered by the public."

Pet shop owners response?

"He was supposed to be there but he didn't show. We had arranged for him to come through a mutual friend. Hundreds turned up anyway. It looks bad on him and not us. I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed, but we still had a good time."

But in a more serious statement Terry had to release, he does say that in the video footage he was reacting to Anton Ferdinand who accused Terry of making a racist gesture at him previous to the footage, So in actual fact the footage we all lipread as 'blind ____' is pretty irrelevant to the accusation because that was Terry's response to the accusation. Saying that Terry also said he spoke to Anton after the game and it was fine, yet QPR have announced that they will investigate the matter and say they will speak to Anton tomorrow morning to gage precisely what was said.

Never a dull week with John Terry is there...

Me thinks the mutual friend is one of them proper annoying bullshitters, you know the kind "Yer i know JT geezer corse i can book him up me old mucker" when he blatently has never spoke to JT in his life and then when JT dosen't turn up gives it the old "Well i asked him but he let me down". Get the **** off his back people, seriously its getting boring and embarrasing now!!!!

Not sure if i have posted this before but this is a very good website if you want to check anything Chelsea. It basicly has everything on it trust me its amazing.

Oh please, it doesn't work that way. If he wanted to influence the Everton game he would have shown dubious red cards for few more. He gave few yellows wrongly but many of them were spot on.

Oh, don't know what to really say on that.

A look into AVB's comments.

It was coming. Deserves a ban for questioning Ref's integrity.

I don't like this haphazard use of the term integrity: it implies that the ref allows his own biases and preconceived notions to proactively cloud his judgement. That's an INCREDIBLY serious accusation, as you're basically calling them a cheater. The only comment AVB made that could be taken as that is: "I'm not happy with the difference of treatment. I don't think the same treatment was applied."

On its own, that would seem pretty damning but- as we've all learnt from years of shoddy journalism and misrepresentation- taking a quote out of context is a dangerous thing. The gist of his complaint actually seems to be this: "Apart from the fourth official, the other three were led by the emotions of the crowd and couldn't deal with a game like this." That is something quite distinct from questioning a ref's integrity because he's questioning Foy's competence. AVB's not calling the man a cheat, he's saying that he was incapable of handling the pressure of the crowd and the expectations of both teams, something that- as AVB points out- is unacceptable at such a high level.

Think of it this way, if you get a builder in and he stomps all over your prize tulips whilst he's trying to fix your fence, you can question his competence. You would only question his integrity if he tried to sell you surplus parts, broke things with malice so that he could be payed to fix them or ****** in your water tank.

Anyways as we all know what is coming anyways I would advise Robby Di Matteo to iron his suit and save his voice

For a ref to be bias IS serious. So to allude that ref hasnt got the ability to not be swayed, to start thinking there is a pattern, is a big deal.

Player Focus: David Luiz

Spectators saw the best and worst of David Luiz on occasion in the hot-blooded West London derby between QPR and Chelsea last time out, which eventually saw the underdogs prevail thanks to two first half dismissals for Villas-Boas' side. For most teams, and indeed players, going down to 9-men would lead to a cautious approach, though the word is not one that appears to be in Luiz's limited English vocabulary right now!

The visitors went 1-0 down in the opening 10 minutes when the young Brazilian was deemed to have fouled Heidar Helguson in the box, who stepped up to convert what proved to be the decisive goal. Though the decision was a 'soft' one, it was a costly error from the defender, and it has not been his first since signing for the club in January.

Playing just 14 league games since arriving in London, Luiz has now conceded 3 penalties, though Sunday's mistake was the first time it had cost his side the points, and his naive displays at the back have frustrated his managers and supporters alike.

Match Analysis: Frailties vs QPR

Undoubtedly a fantastic footballer, Luiz does most of his best work in possession of the ball, which is a strange feat for a defender, and particularly one who is deemed primarily as a centre-back. The former Benfica-man constantly bombed down the right side of the pitch, despite the sendings off of Bosingwa and Drogba, leaving holes in the back four.

2011%2f10%2fChelsea-Analysis-v-QPR.jpg

A look at the player position map (above left) shows that Luiz's (4) rampages up the pitch meant that John Obi Mikel (12) played further back than any Chelsea player. The away side played a hugely risky high line throughout the game, with the QPR defenders (faded) playing far deeper than their depleted counterparts, and much of this was down to the Brazil international.

Struggling in Comparison to Competition

A look at 4 of the key defensive stats to a centre-backs game prove that Luiz has a lot to learn if he is to become a rock at the back at Stamford Bridge. In 14 appearances he has made fewer tackles per game (1.4) than John Terry (2.2), Branislav Ivanovic (2) and Alex, who leads the way on 2.8 over the course of this season and last.

Despite completing fewer tackles, Luiz has committed more fouls per game than his 3 competing centre-backs (1.6), with Alex again impressing having conceded the fewest (0.7) despite making more tackles than his colleagues on average. Ivanovic has made a similar number of fouls (1.5) but has seemingly worked on this area of his game having conceded just 0.5 per game in his 8 appearances this season. Captain John Terry is efficient in the challenge, making just 1 foul per game.

2011%2f10%2fLuiz-CB.jpg

Despite possessing more pace than his teammates, Luiz (0.9) has been dribbled past over twice as much per game as Terry and Alex (0.4), and Ivanovic, who has only let an opponent pass him 0.2 times a match since the start of last season.

The only category in which Luiz doesn't prop up the pile lays in his aerial success rate, though his modest figure of 64% only just tops Alex's 61%. Ivanovic has shown further improvements in this department this season, with his superb 88% success rate giving him an average of 66% over the past two seasons, while John Terry shows exactly how it's done with an average success rate of 71% the best of the quartet.

Natural Progression to Move Forward?

Many have suggested that Luiz's style and somewhat immature and clumsy nature in which he attempts to win every ball possible means that he is not best suited to a role in the heart of Chelsea's defence. An accomplished full-back to boot, some have said that a move further up the pitch would be beneficial to the player, and more importantly his club.

Luiz spent much of his time at Benfica as a left-back in behind another versatile player who has gone on to bigger and better things. Fabio Coentrao is also a highly capable left-back but has been pushed forward to great effect in recent years for both club - now with Real Madrid - and country. A look at the Chelsea man's stats indicate that he could also make tracks further up field, and the figures show that he may be able to make a versatile holding midfielder.

2011%2f10%2fLuiz-Mikel-Comparison.jpg

In comparing his stats this season with John Obi Mikel, we can see that the Nigerian offers more to the side in a defensive sense, with 2.1 tackles per game to Luiz's 1.5, but offers significantly less going forward. A competent player in possession, Luiz has hit his man with 85% of his passes this season, though this is down on Mikel, whose tendency to keep it simple has been rewarded with an excellent 92% accuracy.

However, Luiz outscores his teammate when it comes to key passes per game (1 to 0.6), shots per game (1.5 to 0.6) and successful dribbles per game (1.5 to 0.5). With this in mind, could Villas-Boas contemplate switching the two in the future, as they effectively did against QPR last time out, or is Luiz going to be given time to perfect the art of defending?

That article on Luiz summed up what i thought when watching the Chelsea v QPR game. There was one run he made when it was like watching a pure AM bombing forward. Showed some excellent ball control and skill

He's a flying full back when played there. I can see him being moved to DMC myself

After seeing what I saw I'd agree with that. Like the article said, he just seemed to be quite clumsy and gives away fouls in defence. I'd say he could adapt to midfield without too much of a fuss. Remains to be seen wether or not AVB does that though.

Danny John-Jules is condemning John Terry on Twitter!

"Yeah, Anton you fu**ing black c**t,Fu**ing **** head".No wonder they've hidden the video away.As long as JT is there I'm no longer Chelsea."

"Whatever he calls Anton he calls Ashley, Rio, and every one of the 'mentioned hue' that has ever put on a pair of football boots."

he doesnt say it in the video there is no audio, just someone putting comments on it.

Just as short sighted as every liverpool fan who condemns Evra and every United fan who condemns Suarez.

If that's his attitude then I'm glad he's 'no longer Chelsea'. If you love the club, then no player should stop you from supporting them...IMO anyway.

But, anyway, I'm liking the line-up for tonight, just hope that we can get a win - won't be easy though.

Does anybody have a stream? Where I usually find streams for our games doesn't have a link up.

Seems there's no streams, so I'm having to listen to the commentary on the Chelsea website. You can listen here if you are subscribed to Chelsea TV - Chelsea | Chelsea TV | Live Matches | 26 October 2011, Everton 0 - 0 Chelsea
