Some Mirror Journalist barfed up some bullshit that Chelsea Players want only Jose Mourinho back and will take no other manager... Personally I think the conversation went like this

Martin Lipton: What do you think of Jose Mourinho?

His supposed dressing room 'source': He was a wonderful manager when at Chelsea and I would not hesitate at the opportunity to work with him again

Mirror Headline the next day: Chelsea Players says Mourinho is the only manager they will work with

So anyways, Gigi Salmon invites him to Chelsea TV and gives him a good ripping haha....

And in other news, its Portsmouth for the FA Cup 3rd Round

CdS seem to think Conte is thinking about Anelka for Juve in January along with Alex.

It would make sense, Toni's on his way out in January and that leaves him with Matri+Mirko+Quag as viable strikers given ADP/Amauri/Iaquinta's situation.

Anelka would do well in Serie A, he still has decent pace to open up teams and could do a job for Juve.

As for Alex, he's practically bought his plane tickets to Turin. Not sure what the fee will be but he will be a 2 season stop gap in the first team until we find out about Bonucci once and for all.

As for possible centre backs, Cahill should be off the table he's not the 'halfway line' defender and is more competent a deeper defence. You have to look at Porto, as cliche and predictable as it is, and at Rolando/Otamendi as ideal candidates. Besides them I could see Munoz/Godin fitting the bill.

The fact is, not many Premier League centre backs are agile or competent enough when playing with a high line. Even with Jagielka it would not show the best of him in a high line system, I could see someone like Howedes from the Bundesliga doing a good job in the Chelsea system though.

I would like Otamendi, reasonably young and competent in a high line ... Rolando is 25/26 no, best to have younger blood, what about replacements for Anelka Jamie?

Are you seriously questioning why Harry Redknapp would want Frank Lampard?

I don't buy the story one bit, like you, but that part of it ^ I can buy.

for modric lol?! if he did that everyone would think he is nuts no?

Or why would Calum read transfer news in the Mirror :S in the naughty corner you go young chap

Calum has stooped to the Sun and Daily Star so frankly speaking the Mirror is decent compared to some of the other articles he posts up

Sorry Calum!

If you step back and think about Ulises Davila/Piazon, the need to replace Anelka as a striker isn't really there given the clear direction now with central attacking midfielders for a 4-2-3-1 system.

To replace the 'right winger' Anelka, should have been done in the summer, it's going to be tough.

If you rule out Hazard/Gotze/Reus as viable wing options, the possibilities in Europe are pretty limited.

I don't think he would go for Gotze/Hazard anyway, with Mata floating the right sided attacking midfielder needs to be a fairly natural winger who wont drift inside all the time.

The thing with Sturridge as the RW going forward is, he's doing a good job but match him up as a winger versus Madrid/Barcelona/United's wingers and he doesn't get in the same bracket. He's done well but you could see the frustration from AVB on the touchline with the way Sturridge kept wasting the ball.

Douglas Costa will be available, again, in January so he would be the one I'd go for as a halfway between a playmaker for the system/winger with a final ball. He also gives you the fluid option of playing him wide right/left/central in a 4-2-3-1.

Gaitan at Benfica is another obvious option, the question with him is what sort of price will anyone be willing to pay.

But I mean you could probably draw up a list of 20 options in January for the right side of attack and still not get the one Chelsea sign. A real outside option is Robinho, he has said he has a lot to prove in England and Allegri would drive him across the channel himself at the moment.

I completely agree with you on Sturridge, he is doing a good job but he has a 'striker' mentality which means that he usually fancies taking a shot at goal before trying to pick out a pass so on his day, he can bag a brace easily but on other days he turns out to be frustrating by wasting the ball when there are other options for him to take.... Bringing in a new player does not necessarily mean Studge will be relegated to the bench but it would be nice to rotate as right now we are lacking strength in-depth because if Mata gets injured, we will be in for a terrible season

Robinho would be a decent signing but he could be more trouble than he is worth with his off-field controversies... Lille Director has said we are the 'closest' to Hazard although Lille wont let him go before ensuing a bdding war which will drive his price astronomically high

Pedro Leon Anyone?

Leon?

He's on loan-move to Getafe with a 5 million euro buyback clause for Madrid.

I can't see Chelsea signing him, or anyone else signing him for that matter.

There is a feeling in Portugal that Hulk has done a deal with Da Costa and will move at the end of the season, pure speculation around the club at the moment but you have to fancy Chelsea's chances in signing him.

Pereira and De Bruyne solve the left wing issues, a central midfield playmaker solves the problem of Lampard not being able to retain the ball or play his system role at all, a central defender brings in cover/options in the centre, Vitor Gomes adds competition to Bosingwa, then all that's needed is a right sided attacker and the team going forward is practically complete.

There is talk already that De Visser has been talking to Sao Paulo about Lucas, but that's probably team De Visser releasing the odd story trying to make it look like he actually does something.

Pedro Leons is someone who i really feel sorry for, showed bags of potential at Getafe, things did not go to well for him at RM and now he is back at Getafe when in all respects he should be at a bigger club right now... according to him Chelsea were interested in him in January and nearly got him but Mourinho blocked the move for whatever reason... who knows maybe he could have fufilled his potential here and even now if we are in for him, he would be availiable for less than 10m perhaps, pretty cheap

Hulk would be an immense signing and would be completely perfect for the role on the right-side of our three pronged attack although i doubt we will get him... I want Pereira badly because Ashely Cole has no competition and he although he is putting in decent performances, he needs competition otherwise his performances i fear will continue to droop, De Bruyne if he comes will be on the fringes of the squad so in the short-term, we cant expect him to make an impact

A Central Playmaker... We might as well get Ganso since we practically have spent so many years making a good relationship with his agent and Santos, for a central defender for now I will say Otamendi but its highly probable we will go for someone else

RB for Bosingwa... two seasons ago i would have said Van Der Wiel but now its more trickly, possibly Samuel Inkoom?

Only thing we know for sure is that the club will be going in for a CB and Winger in January due to the departures of Le Sulk and Alex

I am sad to se Alex go, excellent CB in all respects but if he wants to leave then some new young blood will not hurt at all

Anelka I am happy to see go tbh, he is not the same player he once was when he last set foot in the PLM with Arsenal

So who do you guys think we will bring in to replace them in January

Wishful thinking would be Hazard or Goetze but it will more likely by Ocampos or De Bruyne

Not sure at all on CB aspect tho

I think De Bruyne is a dead cert mate, looked decent against us and is quite versatile. Also give us an option to play 4-2-3-1 with Mata in behind De Bruyne out wide left and Studger wide right.

I am pretty sure Ferreira will do for 6 months

I dont know if your comment was sarcastic or not but i love Paulo. Not a fantastic footballer but he loves Chelsea, never moans when he dosen't play and when he is selected normally does a decent job.

Gigi Salmon is a woman sent from heaven!!!! She is proper Chels and i used to love watching her slating the journo's when i had ChelseaTV.

Chelsea could use Frank Lampard as makeweight for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric - Transfer News - MirrorFootball.co.uk

? Dont believe it but anyway why on earth would Spurs swap the best midfielder in the PL? for an ageing veteran like Lampard?!

Story makes me laugh alot, lets be honest although Lampard can still do a job if someone wanted to sign him out right then you would be looking at what 5-8mill. If thats the case then we would still be paying 35mill+ for Modric, erm nah thanks.

So chuft with the FA cup draw (aslong as we win). For the people who dont know i am a Chelsea fan who lives and was born and bred in Portsmouth so all my mates are Pompey fans. I will definatly be going to the game with my brother, dad and my bros mate as we are all Chelsea fans and my mates will be going in the Pompey end im sure. My god i just hope we win UTC!!!!

Krasic anyone? He's available and if Juve are interested in Anelka & Alex you could get him cheap. Plus he isn't cup tied in Europe.

How come hes available?? I would take him but dosent he play on the right wing? If so what happens to Studger?

Conte doesn't use him and he's most likely off in january and has said he wants to come to premier. Also he's more of a traditional winger which you'd do well to have also.

I mean Anelka is leaving so yer it does free up a space. Yer why not i'd have him lol.

Milos Krasic.. their is a name which was linked with us in the summer, although he is not someone who you would go for if you want young blood, did anyone see Anelka's interview on Sky Sports... he sounded to me like he was being forced out and he accepted the inevitable

Anelka + Alex for Krasic would be nice deal for you. Bit of wheeling and dealing which would make even Redknapp and Galliani proud.
