We have been quite heavily linked with Jovetic and Hazard this window

Personally Hazard is a no-go for me, would be a excellent signing imo but its more likely he will move in the summer, not before Lille try to set up a massive auction for him and drive his price astronomically high

Also other things that is in the way of a Hazard january transfer is that Lille is in real danger of not qualifying for the Champions League next season in a very close Ligue 1 and I doubt they will sell their best player mid-way, not unless any potential club is willing to wait till the summer but such a deal wont be in Lille's favour as they wont be able to get the same amount of transfer fee for Hazard in such a deal compared to what they can get in the summer

Plus Hazard is cup-tied for the CL, any chance of us getting him will have to wait till the summer

The Jovetic rumour is more likely and plausible, firstly Fiorentina are undergoing financial difficulties so they need to get players of their books, their is no danger of Jovetic being cup-tied or any of that nonsense and his transfer would be right in line with the clubs new youth policy

He wont even cost that much, I would put his price at 20m tops and he is young adding the fact that he can play left wing allowing us to push Mata to a central, more #10 role

Personally, I feel Jovetic will be a excellent signing.. he will add another creative dimension which will reduce the burden on Juan Mata and he delivers excellent through balls, the sort of which Torres will thrive on, average crosser of the ball but that should not be a problem and he can score goals, a deadly finisher and decent at free-kicks too and is a good dribbler

All in all if we are to buy a attacker this window, Jovetic will be ideal

Hazard everyday of the week. Don't get me wrong - Jovetic is a great player and would be a fantastic signing, but...Eden is on another level imo. He would be such an amazing signing. A lot of rumours today that a transfer could be very close, but I won't believe them yet since I don't want to be let down if he doesn't join. As for the fee - it depends what you class as a 'massive auction' because Eden reportedly has a £33M clause (not sure whether he does but a lot of people seem to think so and media have reported it), so they don't have much room to negotiate (if that's the case), and if I was the manager/owner I would pay that outright if needed - in a heartbeat; he's that good. According to reports our current bid is £25M and some have been saying they are considering selling him for around that, which I highly doubt. I think around £30M (if no clause then probably about 35-40M) could do it, and I'd pay it now so that way we can finish the season as strongly as possible and in the CL we'll just have to get by without him, but what does it matter if he can't play in the CL this year? If we don't sign him then the chances are we won't get anybody or it will be someone like Krasic, so really it won't make much difference. Plus if we don't sign him now I think that Real will get him, and this way he'd have a few months to settle before his first full season, though I doubt he'd need much time to settle in.

I doubt either of them will move in January and I'd think Jovetic would cost more than £20M, maybe £25-30 - he's only just signed a new contract.

Rumours are we've agreed a Hazard deal, obviously nothing concrete so don't take my word as gospel.

Been seeing on twitter somebody who works for Arsenal wrote on facebook that there was a funeral for a woman who used to work for Arsenal and the only former gunner who showed up was Ashley Cole and that he wass very suprised and inpressed in Ashley.

Lets watch a master in action.

Indeed, C.Ronaldo is a master. I prefer Messi though to be honest.

Hazard definitely does not have a 33m release clause.. when the Lille director was asked earlier this month on what would be a acceptable transfer fee for Hazard, he said at least 40m

Plus they said that they are willing to negotiate with clubs who want him but they would look on the negotiations more favourably if the club agrees to postpone the transfer till the summer, this basically confirms that one way or the other Hazard wont be at Lille next season, I do not mind agreeing a deal now and waiting till the summer but as said, dont get your hopes up too high

Their is definite interest from Chelsea though, our scouts have watched him many times this season already so I am certain we will be lodging a bid for him when he does move eventually

The only problem I can see with Jovetic was that he had a serious injury last year, I was worried that would the end of him but he seems to have recovered and returned to his best, would be much cheaper than Hazard and much more likely a transfer to be honest and he would be an excellent addition

I am hoping that we can conclude the transfer of Kevin De Bruyne this month and loan him back to Genk for the rest of the season, I can see him being a capable back-up next season well better than Kalou and Malouda anyways

Lucas Piazon has been doing really well for the Reserves and Youth Team so far, if he continues to keep his performance up I can see him being on the fringes of the first-team squad next season, he has been playing on the right side of the 4-3-3 for the Youth/Reserves so I am assuming he can play in the right in a 4-2-3-1 as well

Josh McEachran has just gone off on loan to Swansea, if he does well there then he too will be a big part of our plans next season just like Sturridge has become

That was 40M euros which is the same as 33M pounds as ChrisBird pointed out. Who knows he might actually have a release clause for that much.

Its possible but I doubt it

Well, he was saying 40M euros, which is 33M pounds, so if he will accept what the alleged clause is, then it doesn't really matter, does it?

And I definitely won't get my hopes up too high - I've learnt from the past with that.

Jovetic did have a very serious injury last year, but the season before that he didn't miss much game time, so I don't think it will be too much of a risk, but he could have a reoccurrence of the injury, I suppose, which would be unfortunate.

I think the De Bruyne deal's come to a stop atm tbh. But De Bruyne said that Genk were asking too much, so maybe they will lower their price and then I'm sure AVB would be happy to add him to the squad.

Piazon has been playing really well so far. Both on the left and the right. Personally, I've preferred him on the left, but it's good to see the versatility he can bring to the team, much like Lalkovic he can play either wing, striker or second striker, which is good. Usually for the reserved he's been on the left and then either left or right (usually left, but once or twice on the right and sometimes switching) for the U18s.

I hope Josh will have a big part to play next year. We'll just have to see how his loan goes, but I'm sure he will play very well.

I think all of us would prefer a 4-2-3-1 formation next year so I am basing my post that that will be the preferred formation next year,

We will definitely need to buy an attacker in the summer to replace Anelka, possibly more than one attacker as Malouda/Kalou will probably leave due to lack of game time..

I would definitely like a attacker who can slot into our first-team straight away and complete the attacking 4 along with Torres,Mata and Sturridge, obvious candidates are Hazard/Gotze/Jovetic for this role

Depending on how Piazon and McEachran perform in the second half of the season, we can accordingly decide if we need to invest in more attacking options, if both of them do well then they deserve to be back-ups next season for the attacking 4

Piazon as we noted can play on the left and right while AVB has publicly stated that he believes that McEachran can play a role further up the pitch which is different from from Ancelloti who believed McEachran is suited to a #6 role

We also will need to bring in an extra attacker anyways to add further depth and the obvious candidate is Kevin De Bruyne who hopefully will come soon

Other than that we need a new RB either to replace the defensive liability that is Bosingwa.. not sure on this one as of yet but Inkoom is a candidate

I would also like to see Kalas brought through next season although that looks unliekly due to the signing of Cahill, the reason i say this is because Kalas has been fantastic in the Dutch League and his stock has risen sharply whilst playing for Vitesse (On a side note, Vitesse shoudl qualify for Europa League next season which will make it an ideal loan destination for our youngsters not only to play in a top league but get European experience as well)

So if AVB does go with a 4-2-3-1 formation and other facotrs work in our favour.

Torres/Sturridge/Mata/??? to compete the attacking 4

McEachran/Piazon/De Bruyne/Drogba as back-ups

The one noticeable problem is that if we suffer a injury crisis like last season, we will again be forced to bring in inexperienced youngsters in too quickly and we might again suffer a severe run of bad form like last season but I rather we bring in youngsters than splash out more cash in brining in proven PLM players as back-ups or worse, keeping Kalou/Malouda

Chelsea Player Tomas Kalas has had a brilliant loan spell at Vitesse so far...

As soon as he started playing for Vitesse they have only allowed in 9 goals in 15 matches and 4 of those goals came in a match in which Kalas limped off injured

Some of the things that has impressed the Vitesse coaches since Kalas' arrival is his composure on the defensive end, his excellent positioning and his ability to cover for a largely immobile partner

The manager has also praised his tackling abilites and one thing the manager noted was that Kalas rarely dove into tackles because he was often in a good enough position not to have to

His decision-making has also received praise as he seems to know when to play the short pass to a nearby midfielder and when to advance with the ball

His only noticeable weakness seems to be this lack of ability in the air, he can hold his own but is no macth for the likes of Stoke City, yet he is only 18 so that is one aspect he has time to improve

If you have 20minutes to spare watch all 150 Drogba goals for Chelsea.

Agree with pretty much everything there especially the inclusion of Götze (if I could pick any two players to sign it would definitely be Götze and Hazard) in the possible candidates, but, unfortunately I see him as one of the 'won't happens' much like I did a few months a go with Hazard, but now he's more of a 'possible', so who knows?! More likely in 2013 though. Another candidate for RB seems to be Azpilicueta who would be a great signing and is very possible.

With Josh I feel he could play any of those roles. So, I think that we shouldn't restrict him to one or two positions, but instead play him in several roles, so that he can offer us versatility, which IMO is one of the most important traits in a player because if they can only play one or two positions they won't offer flexibility, which I feel will be an important factor with AVB in the coming seasons when he has his team sorted.

On Kalas - I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that he wants to stay another season (like Bruma, who I also hope has a big part to play when he returns) which would be good if they do get European football.

If Kakuta knocks on at Dijon then he could play as one of those 'back-ups'.

I'd consider looking at Hoilett if he becomes available in the summer. I don't think he would be expecting to play every game and he is a really good player. Another is Dembélé, but he might want to play every game, but he would be a very good signing imo. Also, imagine our team if these players I'm talking about were to happen (incl. players loaned out) - Hazard*, Dembélé*, De Bruyne*, Courtois, Lukaku (* = not a CFC player, as I'm sure you guessed). Belgian Revolution.

If I was in charge I'd get rid of Drogba and buy someone else as another back up, but suppose it depends who is available in the summer and whether they would settle for not being played every game.

Drogba, I ******* love him. Drogba and Berbatov are most unique forwards, such flair, creativity and intelligence, pure grace.

****, I lost count. How many times exactly has he scored against middlesbrough? like 20 ? :D also against pool and arsenal... like 10 times? man, I'll miss him when he leaves :{

As we know there has been times where he hasen't looked intrested and gone off the boil. But i think if he never went off the boil then he would quite easily be Chelsea's all time top scorer. Sensational player, unplayable at most times.

I remember seeing him at Fratton Park at the start of the season in the friendly and everyone went away talking about him. Hope he is one that actually makes it.

Watching that vid you realise how much weight (muscle?) Drogs has put on. He's by no means fat but he looked so lean when he first joined us..

I love drogba. Gonna be sad not seeing him around when he finally leaves the prem.
