omg, I forgot one important thing to mention, were most certainly gonna play in EL next season, so yea... make of that ^ story what you will.

It depends on what you want to play. Really, it should be a 4-2-3-1, in which case get a proper left winger, and a right back.

yes that formation makes the most sense even from a financial viewpoint.

In a 4-2-3-1, in the midfield two... usually one of the midfielders sits deep and breaks up opposing attacks while the other midfielder also plays a defensive role although he usually has more freedom to get forward and spray balls out to the attacking players.

I would say that Essien and Romeu would fit those roles perfectly. What we really miss is a proper left winger as you said which can allow Juan Mata to shift to the centre in a free role where he can both create and score goals, that will get the best out of him.

As you can see a 4-2-3-1 fits our squad much better than a 4-3-3 hence we will only have to spend on bringing in a proper left winger and right back if we switch to a 4-2-3-1 whilst if we go for a 4-3-3, we will also need to bring in a creative CM along with a RB and left winger.

Personally the 4-2-3-1 formation appeals most to me due to perfect balance of defensive solidity and attacking threat it offers. On the attack, their is a fluid front 4 along with attacking full-backs while nearly everyone helps out in defence so its a good formation.

Chelsea consider bid for Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo - report - ESPN Soccernet

lol. just LOL. as good as he is that ronaldo guy, I dont want him at all. not sure about gonzalo either, i'd rather go for Gotze or Hazard ffs. If Roman gives that kind of money for those two, he is really out of his mind completely, undoubtedly.

Imagine an attack of Ronaldo, Torres, Mata and Hazard.

Although they will all probably end up in getting in each others way, its certainly looks ******* destructive on paper

I dont wanna imagine Ronaldo being anywhere near my club. But yes, its ******* deadly.

He's not. The likes of Smalling, Jones, King, Ferdinand, Jagielka and so on and so forth are quick English centre-backs.

What Cahill is, however, is intelligent enough to position himself in such a way that his pace doesn't become an issue. Moreover, the thing that people like Mike. and I were sceptical about when he moved to Chelsea - his ability (or lack of it) to play in a high defensive line - isn't such an issue due to Bobby Di Matteo's deeper line. As such, he's been doing what he's best at, covering behind an aggressive attacker, bringing the ball out of defence, and getting to second balls in order to clear. That last, incidentally, he is ridiculously good at, one of if not the best in the Prem. Great reactions.

Well since he has joined i have watched every game and he has come up against some very quick forwards and i have seen him stick with them or catch them up if they do manage to get in behind him. When we signed him everyone was going on as if he was a slouch but that is not the case at all.

For me, Essien's best days as a Box to Box mid are over due to his injuries, but he can still be a very good defensive mid, who occaisonally be a serious threat from range, so you pair him with a fairly intelligent deep passer (Romeu) or a shuttler (Ramires, but he must work on his positioning)

You are missing the point though, its not his pace, its his positioning that is preventing him from being skinned.

No i agree his positioning is very good but as i said i have seen him get beat and have to sprint back and no way is he as slow as people made him out to be.

He isn't quick, he certainly isn't a quick Centreback compared to the likes of Smalling et al. He isn't Metresacker slow, but I wouldn't call him quick.

Im not saying he is quick but the way people were going on about him it was as if he couldn't run at all and he was Mertesacker slow.

No, we said he was quicker than Mertesacker, but still dangerously slow in a high line, because you need pretty quick forwards to play it effectively, ie Smalling and Jagielka type pace. But since Di Matteo's line isnt that high, it negates danger somewhat.

The only problem with that is the 2 centre mids are usually defensive minded as you said so where does this fit Ramires??? His best attribute is getting the ball and running at the defence causing problems and we need him in the team as he is one of the best without a doubt. I agree with not having a left winger, we do have Malouda but the less said about him the better. That's why i was ****** off we let Genk have De Bruyne until the end of the season, why didn't we just give 6 months to adapt to the PL so he will be kind of ready for next season?? Makes no sense to me.

I wouldn't say Jags is quick at all, no way in Smalling catagory but more Cahill's.

Jagielka is quick, certainly nearly as quick as Smalling, however superior positioning means he doesnt have to use his pace as much as Smalling, and you dont see it too often, because he doesnt play RB.

Yes, mystery to me too. He has very good long range passing and is a very good crosser for his age (well not like Baines kind of cross, but heading that way if he keeps working hard) from what i've seen.

here's a little video when we played Genk in CL. He can be twice as better than Malouda.

Saw he scored and made the other 2 at the weekend too, sometimes the people who are in charge of our transfers really do annoy me. Borini, Sinclair and Stoch were allowed to leave for pennies!!!

Indeed. Borini brilliant for Roma. Although he couldnt compete with our attackers.

We all like to slate a certain Mr Salomon Kalou at times but as these stats im about to produce show he is getting better every season. I personly have always liked Kalou and always said he has a role to play at the club but these stats are quite positive.
