Also as this site was down yesterday no-one mentioned the Kalou interview. A quote which stood out to me was "I had been told that because I didn't sign the contract I was not allowed to play". Would anyone say that was good management because i wouldn't.

To be fair, AVB did publicly state that Kalou could be the explosive left winger he needed for Mata to move into the centre. He did not sound very confident though and rightly so I might add. Plus Kalou was not playing because there were better players ahead of him, not because of his contract.

He has not had a terrible season as most people make out, his work rate has been ****** excellent and has contributed in assists

However I agree with people who say that the prime statistic for any striker is the number of goals he scores. I felt that AVB hit the nail on the head for Torres in an interview before he was sacked.

'Torres scored a brace against Genk and scored in his next game against Norwich. I could see him finding his confidence and role in the team before he got sent off. He did not play for Chelsea for a month afterwards and he regressed'

For Torres its not about his ability but about his mentality. Maybe because of the price tag and the struggle to adjust, he is now too scared to receive the ball, to make the run or find himself one on one with the keeper.

The only way to remove that fear is by working hard and scoring goals again.

With the work rate Torres is showing, its inevitable that he will once again find the 23 year-old in himself who tore apart defences when he first came to England.

He doesnt get great supply either, particularly from DS. Whereas he would revel in the kind of play we have at United.

I agree with you. Torres would be a sensation at United owing to players you have and tactics you employ. Its very hard for me to speculate on who we might have brought in this summer considering we do not even know who the manager will be so we have to wait and see.

Btw whats the situation with Emery? Does he look set to leave Valencia after this season?

He just needs players who are 'working for him' on the pitch. We just need new players, and we need them soon.

Looks like it, he is getting booed an whistled a lot at the moment. Not really his fault, Valencia have hit a glass ceiling. They dont have the finances to compete with Barca and Madrid. The fans take it for granted.

I wonder how far he can go if Roman gives him money to spend. With no money he manages to be right behind Madrid and Barca.

If Sturridge got his head up and passed more often then Torres would have double the goals he has this season without a doubt. So many times i have seen him unmarked in the middle but Sturridge decides to go alone.

What like Malouda??? The fact is he kept playing Mata on the left which is not his position at all, Kalou can be dangerous as he dosen't even know what he's going to do next let alone the defenders facing him lol.

A bit like fellow David Moyes at Everton then. Unai Emery is a superb manager and I hope Roman has enough brain cells to take a chance on him instead of turning to Pep, Mourinho or Blanc.

Would love to have David Moyes on board as well, although I know that Chelsea will be hated by all on FM Base if we hire him and then proceed to sack him in his first season and ruin his first real chance at managing a top club. But I guess we are again going for the 'glamour' managerial signing instead of grit

Blanc? Seriously, I hope you didnt believe that rumour. Anyway, if it has some truth in it, I hope we dont get him. I'm sceptical about having a French manager for some reason.

I'd love Moyes. But I hope he rejects a potential offer from us. I really do.

Funny thing is RDM probably would have used him more than Swansea have especially with the games we have coming up.

Thats what I thought the other day, and it makes sense.. with all the rotations RDM is doing in order to keep players fresh.

Such a shame, i just really hope he gets chances next season and with that a midfielder will have to leave. Cue Meireles!!!!

SkySports Spanish reporter Graham Hunter just said this about Juan Manuel Mata: I swear to you what you are going to hear people (Chelsea fans) say at the end of the season is im glad we bought this man he's given us enjoyment he's given us creativity he's given us flair and he's gritty, this mans a winner.

Looking back on old posts on this thread and just found this and Graham Hunter was right. I think I speak for all Chelsea fans when I say I love Juan Mata!
