Lets get this straight that i am not condoning the boo's/chanting over the minutes silence but i said last week on the FA Cup thread it was a stupid idea to force teams to hold a minutes silence who wearn't involved. I feel immensely sorry for the family and the people who lost their lives that day as should everyone but as i state in the FA Cup thread like other teams disasters is should be remembered by them only or anyone who feels they want to remember it. A lot of old time Chelsea fans are still raging from the fact Liverpool blamed Chelsea fans for the Heysel disaster and feel with that and Hillsbrough they blame anyone but themselfs. Like i said it was a the wrong decision in the first place to force these sides to do this.

Didn't watch the game until the final 5 minutes, as I care neither for Chelsea or Spurs, or the FA cup itself.

While the second goal was an appalling decision (based on video replays from the host broadcaster, not a random photo off some ***** twitter), you can't do much about it as a spurs player/fan/manager, just move on from it. At least this will give them a clear run in, free of distractions, so they can concentrate on finishing 5th behind Newcastle.

My thoughts on the game are as followed, 1st half before 25 mins was pretty cagey with no real decent chances but they Spurs started to see a lot of the ball without really creating anything. Then the phenomenal Drogba strike even by his standards really did kill them for me. 2nd half with the contentios goal aside we were the better side no question about it, Drogba, Ramires and Mata tore Spurs's back line to shreds. Spurs had a chance to take the momentum with the goal but we hit back yet again with a sensational ball by Mata and decent finish by Ramires. Nothing lucky about Lamps's goal again phenomenal strike and the 5th was all Mata again. You don't win 5-1 in a cup semi final and be lucky or not deserve to win its as simple as that. Still absolutely buzzing and a little bit more possitive about Wednesday, not much more but a little bit.

You were lucky to an extent because the 2nd 'goal' was given. Spurs were bound to be left open when chasing a 2 nil deficit in an FA Cup semi and Chelsea countered them fantastically.

Im currently watching the game again (for the 3rd time) and between them scoring and us scoring our 3rd nothing decent really happened at both ends it was back to the way it was early in the first half. We just unlocked them with a touch of class and then ran away with it with counters after the 3rd.

Wow what a game. People can say what they want about the second goal but in my opinion Spurs only have themselves to blame, they could have taken the initiative after they scored and go after us instead they pathetically crumbled in the last 15 min gifting us 3 goals.

How good was Diddy Drogba's goal. The turn and the lethal finish. It was signs of the 'old' Drogba. World-Class stuff

Lampards free-kick was fantastic as well.

Mata was absolutely sensational in the second half. Just proves what a good player he is. 2 great passes to set up Ramires and Malouda. Got a 'phantom' goal himself.

This makes me feel slightly better about the Barcelona match. Not much but a little nonetheless

Gareth Bale, what on earth was he doing, Bosingwa was playing and yet he had no effect on the game. Antonio Valencia > Bale, he just does not perform enough.

I can not see Modric lasting at Spurs if they fail to get in the Champions League this season he will definitely go.

I thought Chelsea were fortunate and the score did not really reflect the whole game, no doubt that pathetic goal that was given knocked Spurs back. Then chasing the game they had to really go for it.

Maybe Di Matteo should think of starting Torres and Drogba, just to give that vulnerable Barcelona defence something to think about. (if you get through their midfield that is). I can't see your 4-2-3-1 counter style working against Barcelona, you will just be playing into their hands.

People have been saying that for some time now although it has yet to materalize. Levy is a damm tough negotiator for one and the price will likely be ****** high. Honestly feel that the time would be better spent on chasing other targets

The camera angle plays a massive part in this looking like a goal. I can assure that if that camera was on the bar or a post it would show a completely different story.

Either way I don't think you can blame the ref or the linesman, very difficult decision.

Modric would be the ideal signing for Chelsea, he could link up the play, set the tempo, he really is just a world class player, many people can not understand it.

he is not worth £40mil.

Is he not? Why not? How many other midfielders are there in the world who can dictate play like he can? Scholes, Xavi, Pirlo, Schweinsteiger, Xabi Alonso. That's just about it. Of those five, only one of them is below the age of 30. They're a very rare breed, and totally invaluable. In a market where Andy Carroll is worth £35 million, I'd say Modric is worth about £50 million or so.

Nuri Sahin if it's true that he's available on summer could be signed for much less and he was amazing in Dortmund.

But he's not on Modric's level. Likewise, I didn't include the likes of Jack Wilshere and Ever Banega, who although excellent little players don't combine Modric's huge skillset.

Just like to say I hope we absolutely batter use in the cup final. The minutes silence (or lack of it) was disgusting yesterday.

1st of all, Torres' and Carroll's price tags are irrelevant to this case or any other case. Why? Because only Roman and no one else put that price tag on Torres, and respectively, Liverpool paid that money for Carroll. We all know that Torres isnt worth that money. I'd say probably, Modric is worth no more than £35mil. Still think Sneijder is better than Modric, although I havent seen much of him this season (rarely watch Serie A). Modric is a good player, dont get me wrong, but £40mil is too much, BUT if we do pay that money, I wouldnt be disappointed too much, because we need a playmaker BADLY.

well, there is no one like Scholes and Xavi.

I'd rather us groom McEachran in when he comes back from loan than spend anything over £35m for Modric. Just a shame he hasn't featured much under Rodgers, especially since Swansea are pretty much safe from the drop.

indeed. Wasted loan spell. I just need him to be given games and get better. He has so much potential.

Jesus Christ, this is already being discussed in two other threads stop bringing it up. Yes it was wrong but there shouldn't have even been a minutes silence in the first place. Also if we play half as good as we did yesterday it wont be you battering us.

Really don't understand why Spurs don't play Gareth Bale against us, they have left him out the last 4 times we have played them and he is meant to be world class.
