Anybody else think the suspension rule is stupid? The cards should get written off after the semis IMO. They're denying players what could be their only chance to play in the biggest club game in the world for only 2 cards which is hardly many.

It's going to be tough for Chelsea in the final. They won't be able to put everyone behind the ball like they did against Barca- they'll have to open up a bit more, and it will be tough to match Bayern or Madrid for quality. But they do have every chance and I'll be supporting them against whoever they play.
 
Would rather face Real Madrid than Bayern Munich. In my opinion both teams are equally good in terms of quality but Bayern will be playing at home which will make it that much harder for us to win.

An FA Cup and CL Double will make me ecstatic considering that our season was going nowhere as recently as March when we lost 3-1 to Napoli. A top 4 finish will make it even sweeter although that looks a distant prospect and Di Matteo will have to put all his eggs into winning the Champions League

Torres- Absolutely worth every penny of the 50 million by the way!

I would agree with you although this gives players the incentive to do what they like in the Semi-finals although as you rightly pointed out, its the biggest club game in world football and I am sure everybody would like their team to send out their strongest 11

In my opinion, players with the yellow card limit should be allowed to play although those like Terry who get a red card should rightly be suspended
 
Oh yeah and just to make the day seem a bit better than it already is

Quite a few clubs are reportedly interested in loaning Kevin De Bruyne from us next season and these include the likes of Lille, Sporting, Benefica and At Madrid according to Belgian Footballl expert and ever reliable John Chapman

That is some great news. All 4 clubs offer him the chance of playing regular football at the highest level. My personal choice would be At Madrid, he would play in an excellent league and he has the technical attributes to be successfull there. Will not be surprised if his destination is a PLM club though

He has been doing ****** well in the Belgian League play-offs so no doubt his stock has risen because of that. Perhaps we might send him to Lille to sweeten the deal for Hazard ;)
 
Next game is against QPR. So from the highs of beating one of the best teams in the world we go all the way down to facing **** ;)

The worst striker in the world gave the death blow against the best team in the world. Someone should make a .gif of Torres passing Valdes and scoring in slow motion.. With a caption below that says "humiliation".

Well done to Chelsea, glad to see Barcelona out. I disliked their arrogance and to see them knocked out by a team that parked the bus, well that just makes it all the more sweeter!

Congratulations to Chelsea! I think in the Final you're going to miss Ramires more than you're going to miss John Terry!

Without a doubt it is, a lot of journo's saying it was better than Liverpool's Istambul comeback in 05 mainly because it was at the Nou Camp with 10men.

People were wrong about us beating Napoli, Benfica and now Barca. I urge people/media outlets to write us off, it seems to be working lol.

Ronaldo has a worse record than Messi against us in terms of games played etc. Only scored once against us (yes it was in a Champs League final) but i would be more scared to play Robben and Ribery.

Totally ******* agree, i thought it was very harsh on Fletcher in 09 and i think more so now it is ******* ludocris. Did you see how upset Ivanovic looked when smug **** told him he couldn't play in the final!!!! This is a one in a lifetime game for most of these players, if you get a straight red i.e JT then yes you deserve a ban.

Torres as his worst i.e the miss at Old Trafford is not the world striker in the world. I thought he was shocking when he came on and he knew he was. The goal actually led to him giving the ball away and he carried on up field in anger with himself, little did he know he would be receiving a ball (with snow on it) which he bought down brilliantly to calmly finish.


I have actually watched the goals/highlights about 25times already, can't get enough and I am just buzzing. No sleep for me tonight. Annoyed with the suspensions but they can be replaced, Cahill and Luiz at centre back fitness requiring obviously is still pretty strong. Bosingwa or Ferriera can do a job at right back still. Ramires is the one we will miss the most, maybe Kalou will get a start as he will track back and defend too. Meireles is the one i don't care much about, his tackling/positional sense was very good tonight but his passing!!!!!!!!OMG!!!!!!!! He can be replaced by Essien or even Lampard if we go with a 4-2-3-1. My major concern is the QPR game on Sunday, no Cahill, Luiz or Ivanovic will leave us with Romeu who can play CB or a young lad. That or our new world class centre back Jose Bosingwa!!!!
 
Congrats Chelsea from a Utd supporter, I always knew you would do it, fantastic victory against Barca, whom I hate, after the first game Di Mat was in charge, I said to all my mates, this is the guy Chelsea have been looking for since Jose left, he is going to do the Champions League...

If Bayern go through this evening then I am all for Chelsea to win, I really am, its about time :) but if Real go through then its a Real win for me only due to the fact that I want Jose to be the first manager in history to win it with 3 different teams :)

Di Matteo should be given the gig full-time according to me even if we end up the season trophyless and out of the top 4. I don't want to have a repeat of this season where we bring in a new manager only for him to fail and push the club further back

Di Matteo has the support of the players, he has got the results and most people forget that he can play attacking,expansive football like he did with West Brom. Hand him the reins now and back him in the summer to make changes whilst working closely with Roman and Emeleano

Di Matteo is also fairly young i might add and the players have seemed much happier with him. Torres seems to playing with a newfound determination and enthusiasm and his performances have improved so much under Di Matteo. Deserves the job in my opinion. With him at the helm and some new players it scary to think how good we could be next season considering we can beat Barcelona over 2 legs with our current squad

Brilliant win for Chelsea, Torres deserves his goal. I wonder if Guardiola will quit this summer? Think he's taken that tactic as far as it will go- putting the 3 at the back hasn't worked for them all season leaves them so exposed at the back.
 
Congrats to Chelsea. Well done to keep Barca at bay. But it must be said if Barca were better but were let down by the finishing. Great defending in the last 20 mins by chelsea. And most importantly Barcelona lost....YAY :D
