Looking rather likely that Hulk will be coming to Chelsea. I guess I do not mind as long as the price is right.

I have watched Hulk quite a few times and I have to say he is a really good player nonetheless. Obviously extremely imposing physcially, I doubt PLM defenders could push him off the ball. He is pretty fast as well and has very good dribbling skills. Has got a killer shot on him and is very proficient crosser of the ball.

Combining his physical attributes with his technical ability means that he is a pretty complete player. His game does need some more polish but overall I think he would do very well for us.

Marin is far from the finished article.

And where would Ramires fit into it? His drive is suited to a 3 man midfield, would be wasted in a holding pair.

Completely forgot about Ramires.. problem is I would much prefer a 'pass first' player like Mata as compared to Hulk but it looks rather likely that we are going to get Hulk this summer. Plus we definitely need someone who can back-up Mata because Mata certainly cannot play so many games next season, Willian would be an ideal player for that role because I doubt he will mind sitting on the bench and he is young, versatile

With FFP in mind, the more logical choice would be to keep De Bruyne and rotate him with Mata, or if he is to go on loan, go for a cheap alternative like Junior Hoilett.

If we do get Hulk, I can't see us splashing out more than 20m unless it's for a central midfielder.

Hulk would be perfectly suited to the Premier League physically, I think he is a very good player and perhaps could offer something different to Chelsea. I know he has a decent eye for the goal as well.

There is a serious gulf in class between the Jupiler League and the EPL though. Look at Lukaku, golden boot winner in Belgium at 16 but struggling to find the net in the EPL. Not entirely his fault as he has not been played that much anyways and he has had to contend with a change of manager but still...

Would rather we handled De Bruyne's development properly instead of dropping him into the deep end straight away, from what I heard he certainly has potential but he is still a very raw player, not as raw as Marin, but his game definitely could do with a polish.

According to Belgian Football expert John Chapman... The likes of Lille, At Madrid and Benefica are very interested in taking him on loan. Would prefer him at an EPL club tbh but I feel he needs a loan before he can be involved in our first-team
 
I still don't want Hulk. Someone like Willian would suit the 4-2-3-1 better, cost less, and be able to create as well.

If we get Hulk, keep Ramires right and don't get a deep and creative CM, then the entire side will again have to revolve around Mata and we will have no one to replace him if he gets injured or fatigued. Too risky imo.

If we get Hulk and Ramires goes back into CM then I can kind of see it, but I think that would be an inferior line up, and we'd still need a creative winger.
 
Hulk can be quite brutal in EPL. But 40 mil is too much for him to be honest. I dont like Willian either, so we better give that 40mil for Modric or another maestro. We immensely need that kind of player.
 
Im going to have my first say on this Hulk thing and i really don't understand it. He is an inside left footed winger who like to shoot often i.e Sturridge!! Our problems lie elsewhere, i do not think we need Hulk but unless he will be used as a striker which means Drogba will be out then i really don't see the point.

Exactly. Also Drogba will be out, I think. But again, 40 mil is too much. We should use that 40 mil for buying a DLP.

Pretty sure that is what Jake is on about. Why do you need another Mata? Surely you need some decent wingers/inside forwards, considering you have Kalou, Sturridge and Malouda getting regular match time.
 
I think he meant a deep lying playmaker sort or role, your Pirlo's/Modric's etc
