who knows... They are backed by Arabs and must be disappointed at losing the League so they might want to further strengthen the squad. Hopefully Pastore is feeling **** at rejecting us in the summer... Could have been European Champion if he joined us ; lol

Totally forgot we were close to getting him lol. Glad we didn't now actually as he may have taken Mata's spot.

I am very delighted to hear that RDM continues as manager for Chelsea. I already looking forward to the next season and with the arrival of new players I think Chelsea switch to an attacking style of play. Good luck Robbie!

Absolutely chuffed for Robbie and he really has a chance to stamp his authority on the side and play the way he wants to play. Happy it's a 2 year deal too as many media predicted (cannot believe they were wrong, shock horror) that it would only be a one year deal because Roman will still go get Guardiola. Onwards and upwards and lets get this transition finally underway!!!

Happy with the appointment now that it is confirmed. There are not many better managers available out there and glad we got this situation wrapped up early... Now onto more rumours of player transfers

He likes to play expansive, attacking football which he can with the players we are bringing in... I just hope he has the vision to move the club forward by promoting youth accordingly etc.

I hope he does too, i also hope we don't end up winning the race to sign Hulk because Ramires deserves that spot. Also on the right back situation i'd go for Debuchy myself.

Debauchy is 28 if I am not wrong and he does not fit in with our Youth Policy. Also Carl I do not think we need a transition, look st the core of our team and our best players are under 25

Such as Ramires, Mata, Sturridge, Mikel etc. Players like Essien, Lampard are no more than rotational players now. Terry is not as dearly missed when injured as he once was with Cahill/Luiz on our hands. Cech is a goalkeeper who have long lives unfair to label him as old. Only real problem is Ashley Cole who has played far too many games over the past 3 seasons because we had no real alternative but with the rise of Bertrand he should be playing fewer games as well

Im talking about the already out players Drogs, Bozzy and Kalou and i think both Malouda and Essien are surplus to requirements. Debuchy only 26 too.

Eh... Would still prefer someone young who will not mind playing second fiddle to Ivanovoc who is a great RB

Brana is quality, if that is the case they i would rather see Toddy Kane be the backup.

Is Todd Kane good enough and if Ivanovic gets injured then will you be confident with Kane stepping up? We will be repeating mistakes of the 2010/11 season again if Todd Kane is used as a back-up to Ivanovic

What happens with Sam Hutchinson then? Showed his fitness towards the back end of the season.

4th choice CB maybe with Carling Cup apps and stuff or maybe a PLM loan. The club is certainly confident he is ready to make apps in the Prem which is good to see

Lukaku was asked on twitter what number he wants to wear at Chelsea in the future he said 11 maybe that might happen now with Didier gone unless the number is retred in Drogbas honour ofcourse. Also when asked if he was hoping to replace Drogba he replied no he wants to write his own story. Really how he makes it big at Chelsea.

Interesting read, its a great thing for the smaller clubs in the EPL and even better for those hoping for promotion from the championship as the money involved in just one season is superior to anywhere else! Sure there are other great leagues around but you tend to find the top 3/4 clubs taking a very large percentage of the media revenue.

I like the Chelsea side, not too sure about the sitting pack and pounce on the counter tactic RDM seems to be playing as it seems a little dangerous, but what do i know? They seem to be doing fine winning the CL :)

Hope to see some new talent in a chelsea shirt next soon, as i'm sure they'll be taking full advantage. I also hope to see a lot more from Lukaku next season as for a long time he's been touted as a world beater but dont think he really had the chance last year with torres, drogba etc

It seems as if Lukaku will feature heavily in Pre-Season because Torres will likely be tired after the Euro's and Sturridge will be off to the Olympics. Excited to see what he can do once given a decent run in the team

Only problem with RDM in charge is players would be more attracted to other clubs due to higher repuation managers. Not really a fan of his tactics either but good luck Chelsea.
