Firstly he is not making those runs as the article posted by Subtle explicitly points out. His lack of movement and efforts is costing us goalscoring opportunitites.

Secondly while he does link-up play with the second band, as GC pointed out thats hardly what we need. We need a striker who leaves the creating to the creators and instead looks to finish off the chances they create. Someone like Falcao.

Thirdly as you rightly pointed out, on the occasion he does get the ball in a good position to score he ***** it up by taking an exra touch or whatever costing us goals

Also I completely disagree with the 'lack of service' argument. Read these two articles from We Aint Got No History and its sister site Carefree Chronicles

Conclusion is that Torres is **** at finishing. His lack of movement and effort is costing us goals and in turn matches. His link-up play is competent at best. And he mucks up our attacks with his poor passes, first touch and inability to keep the ball

Just found the article Subtle posted and yess, it has good points, but if you ask me, especially that Photo number 1, comes down to lack of communication and chemistry. It seemed like Torres was actually waiting for Hazard to put the cross in and he would have had the pace and acceleration to reach it since he was already **** close to the goal and Hazard was waiting for Torres to make a clear indication that he's gona run for it or someone else. If he had taken the risk however, it might have been a goal. Why he also was waiting for Hazard is that he was wary of a possible offside trap, since he has been caught numerous times offside this season. He DOES indicate when hes making a run between defenders but when that happens, midfield does something else. Then he gets frustrated when hes indications doesnt result in a pass and he's also exhausted after hes running around like a madman and doing all sorts of jobs as I said. Then he drops down and blaablaablaa things I explained in my previous post.

Secondly then yes well he aint necessary in your build-up play. Not at all, you've got the quality in the midfield trio to run it. But I d believe this comes down to the thing I pointed out earlier; Frustration. He drops down cos he wants the ball. He wants to have the ball more, but then he aint got a clue WHEN they will pass to him and when they will not. Think is its a lack of chemistry, communication. Seems like Torres & your midfield trio are having troubles syncing between themselves in some situations, which might result in dangerous chance to score. You tend to keep hold of the ball and pass it around a while before actually deciding to create a chance from it.

In simple words, he doesnt know when the ball will be played at him if he indicates & makes a run and then when he does do that, he wont get it and when he should make it, he aint doing it and he gets frustrated and drops down to see whether something happens. I think thats what it is about and thats why it seems like hes movement is ****, I dont see him as **** passer as you seem to indicate, hes first touch is a bit hard at certain situations and it aint his job to keep the ball, hes job is to score as said.

That Torres and RVP comparison is pretty poor, both are different types of player and both receive the ball in completely different ways. Torres with Chelsea gets it from wider and closer to the byline where RVP at Arsenal was much narrower and from deeper.

Not defending Torres though he does seem to miss the goal way more often than hitting it.

I know right, who would compare Torres to RVP! Hahahaha ;)

The thing I love about Zlatan is how he never ever doubts his own ability. Even when things are not going well, he still believes he can do anything on the pitch. It's this arrogance that he has that makes him a great player

Balotelli has the same confidence (read > big gob ;) ) as Ibrahimovic but he hasn't not the skill to back it up that Zlatan has!

Right. No more "service" excuse, since Zlatan needs no service.

Can you really afford him though? I know Roman keeps stacks of $100 bills in his broom closet, but you're most definitely have to break Torres's (or Torres'...**** apostrophes, don't hate i'm self-taught) record here and he already spend plenty this year.

*cough* player exchange *cough*

At. Madird have said they dont want Torres or any swap deal. They want 60m which is his minimum release clause

It's a interesting situation ... With the impending departures of Cole and Lampard, a lot of money will be freed up. Plus we do have a good relationship with Atletico Madrid as we let then jaw Courtois for 2 years. Plus RDM hinted at reinforcements arriving in January in the striking department. Personally I very much doubt the transfer is going to happen. Not impossible though

If you have seen the transformation of Atletico, they will not be selling you Madrid unless its crazy money, that you cant actually afford in terms of FFP. its not just 60m, you are talking about another 30m in wages.

But if Falcao wants to come, might force a move through? Personally Llorente looks a far more realistic option

He's happier than he's ever been, and they wont let him go regardless. He's got a massive contract

He might be happy but obviously a player of his quality will have higher ambitions which he could realize at Chelsea. As I said it's unlikely and it will take a bumper offer from Roman. Llorente should be our main target along with Moutinho

Why? have you seen where they are in the table? Not every player needs to up and leave to realise ambitions.
