Ibra has always been hit or miss kind of deal, and is it just me or people only discover certain players when they perform well vs. english teams. :P

Hit or miss?! And no I said the same thing on this thread earlier as well. It's never bonkers to buy Zlatan

Ibra was never a hit or miss kind of deal. Never. Even at Barca he had good year, scoring 20 plus goals and around 15 assists. Just Barca were retarded to pay that much.

Ibra is one of the safest bet, he just delivers in the league when team is built around him. One of the best player every season in the league he has played since he joined Juve.

I honestly could not believe anyone can call Ibra a 'hit or miss' striker....

He was pretty poor at Juve, had a decent first year scoring well in the league but his second was terrible.

Both seasons were poor, 10 and 15 goals per season in team that, need i remind, was constantly rigging games and buying refs, is just awful.

The 16 in his first all came in the league which is why I said he did well in the league, by his standards is was poor though.

He was hit and miss in the CL. Unless the team puts everything through him he starts to become peripheral.

The only man to score for 6 teams in the Champions League. 'Nuff said. (;

Think about it we still have the players that can play up front. Would it not be smart to put Moses up front. He is fearless. He'll run at the center backs and should give them a torrid time. Torres is just deadwood who needs everything served up on a plate for him.

Some of the runs Sturridge was making against WBA were pretty good. Shame he could not finish off the chances. Personally I put it down to lack of sharpness more than anything, he should only improve with a run of games. Don't really like the idea of Moses as a CF tbh although he can't be worse than Torres

I think Torres has had his time. He's lost his love for football in my opinion, It can't be confidence anymore. Send him on a holiday or back to Madrid..

If you want to win BPL and the UCL you can't keep giving chances to strikers who can't hack it. Someone at Chelsea needs to be ruthless.

The good thing about Roman is that whenever he sees a problem, he never shoes away from fixing it.
Be it player or manager. Hopefully he does the same in regards to our striker situation.

Also De Bruyne is having a great season so far with Werder Bremen. Been their best player and scored the winning goal today against Fortuna today. Good to see

Knock out stages he was hit and miss (I think he scored for Barca and Milan in KOs too) but Ibra as a whole is not hit and miss. His influence in the league is just superb. This season he is delivering in CL (group stages though) too.

For a man so outrageously talented, its fair to say we should have seen even more of him. Especially on the biggest stage; the CL knockouts.

Not Barca IIRC, but Milan (destroyed Arsenal).

Scored for Barca twice at Emirates then he was subbed off and Arsenal came back and made it 2-2 or won 3-2.

Yeah phis CL record in KOs is very poor for player of his caliber, he scores goals only Ibra can score but when it comes to KOs not sure what's wrong with him. His overall record in Europe is good. 1 in 3 is a decent return.

Why are ye talking so much about a player that has no chance in coming to chelsea in the next few years. Yeah he is a great player but realisticly he will never be at chelsea with the current regime. They are signing young quality players with boundless potential when what we really need is a player at the top of his game, What we need is either Falcao/cavani and a cb to cover for Terry and Luiz idiocy.

I still hold that there's a grain of truth to his 'flat-track bully' reputation. He's lethal in the league because he just destroys teams poorer than the one he's in, and considering all of his professional career has been spent at teams which are in the top three or so teams in that particular league, he's been pretty **** effective. When it comes to the biggest stage, against opponents who are roughly the same kind of ability as his team, he's nowhere near as potent.

Admittedly, this theory does occasionally fall down a bit when it comes to league big games, where he has a good record, but I still hold that Ibrahimovic doesn't raise his game for important matches in the same way the likes of truly great players such as Messi do. Ronaldo has a touch of this problem too, come to think of it.
