Very interesting, certainly when it comes to Ashley Cole although his form has seemed to dipped of late he is still a top LB on his day for me.

It is annoying me that fans are taking this out on Rafa on facebook groups! I can see that this is going to be a he can do no right type of thing.

Read this Article by Sam Wallace. Makes a lot of sense on why RDM was sacked.

Really I think the board never wanted him for the job but due to pressure from the fans, were forced to appoint RDM. Question marks over RDM's tactical expertise arose throughout the season and I think his tactical naivety in going without a striker against Juventus was the straw that broke the camel's back.

RDM was never able to find the right balance between defense and attack and we constantly got overloaded down the flanks and leaked goals. Benitez is far more superior tactically and will be able to organize us into a cohesive unit and hopefully, we do well this season.

With the emergence of Betrand coupled with Coles wages in the forthcoming FFP era, it makes little sense to retain him. Lampard looks like he is off to LA this January. With the wages they free up, a lot of interesting possibilities open up for us.

Really? Betrant is nowhere near as good as Cole. Cole is still one of if not the best leftback in the world

By no means the best anymore, still up there on his day. Baines is better than him and should be first-choice now IMO.
 
Is it just me that thinks Bertrand has been a little over hyped and over rated by Chelsea fans since he started the champions league final? Dont get me wrong I am a fan of Bertrand and he does posses some talent but I don't think he is as good as some people think and I don't think he will get to anywhere near Coles level. His performances recently whilst cole was injured were not too great either.

I agree with that but he is still better than Bertrand. I do expect Baines to be first choice for the next world cup

I think he is very good personally and rated him well before he started in the CL final. Still a young man and has some attributes better than Cole i.e crossing.

Im still not fully convinced he will become a world class full back I hope I am proved wrong though.

Probably ruin him by taking him back from the baggies now, give him the season. He's still not finishing great and does waste a fair few chances.

Ofcourse a lot of improvement needed and you are right he is getting alot of game time at WBA which is doing him the world of good and even if we did recall him as much as I would like to see him play alot he most likely wouldnt. He does waste chances but at only 19 you wouldnt expect him to take every chance like a world class striker which he does have the potential to be :)

Yeah, I go to a lot of Albions games and he's just a pain for defenders, big and strong and some very good movement. Like you said, he's still young and he needs the time to develop further and get used to the league and the teams he'll be playing.
Can see why Chelsea wanted him so much, also nice that he speaks like 8 languages.

To be honest if he carries on getting the game time through out the season and Chelsea bring in a new striker in the next year I would be happy to see him loaned to WBA for a second season.

He definitely needs the whole season at WBA.
