I am really surprised AVB/RDM did not give Lukaku a chance in the first team last season other then a couple of sub appearances late on in games mostly in the cups instead of letting him sit in the reverses for a whole season. If I am honest as well I did not expect to see Lukaku getting as much game time at West Brom as he is and he really is repaying Clarke for the faith he has put in him :)

Lukaku wasn't ready to be a starter for us, and he still isnt. He needs a whole season (or more) at WBA and we will see what happens next. He just needs game time. Steve gives him that, and we should be happy.

Of course I was not expecting him to start too much last season with Drogba/Torres/Sturridge at the club but I was expecting to see him in the team a bit more then he was and he could of been a reliable player to bring off the bench in league games. I would be happy to see Lukaku loaned at WBA next season as well if he carrys on performing like he is for them and getting plenty of game time.

can someone explain chelseas tactics? I think the chelse backline mistake torres for drogba the amount of times it seemed to go long, Luiz has been hot and cold looking immense one minute then so vulnerable the next, they should start using him as a holding midfielder just to get him out of centre back
 
We looked better defensively and more willing to defend as a unit which is what Benitez brings. Considering Man City played 4 different strikers in the game, all of then very good, it's a good clean sheet.
 
I thought Azpi was excellent today. Really good defensively and lively in the attack.
 
Thank God for dual-monitor setups is all i'm saying.

But hey, turns out Chelsea can defend after all.
 
Everything I said in the "Di Matteo Sacked" thread (and getting stick for it) about Chelsea deserving nothing was proven right today.

Whats with everyone suddenly coming in the thread giving Chelsea and fans abuse? Was not every fan acting like a **** today was it? This thread is for Chelsea fans to discuss the club they support more then anything so if you are just coming in here to give abuse to Chelsea/Chelsea fans and start arguments **** off.

Just ignore them. People may acting like children and calling us ****** fans/a plastic club, so what better way to prove them wrong then to not rise to the bait.
