S****y club? XD. May treat the managers like poo at times but not all fans are dickpoles. They're at nearly every club. Guess that makes them a s****y club aswell then

Can I just ask then, with genuine interest.

Why treat Benitez like that? Why not vent at Abramovich? It makes no sense.

Its pretty obvious why,

what he has said, Former Liverpool manager ETC

i dont agree with it, but the majority of football fans are like this with ex players, managers ETC

However people on this site/thread seem to be different, and look at it in a football perspective most of the time which is what its all about

You would be better off asking the fans who were hurling abuse and holding up "Rafa out" signs. Many Chelsea fans feel they cant criticize Roman because of all what he has done for the club but that doesnt stop me saying what I think when he makes a wrong decision.

Chelsea fans should be grateful Benitez (as he is one of the few word-class) managers who was willing to take it, Pep Guardiola is not coming anywhere near a club ran by Mr. Trigger Happy.

Also Benitez is a friend of Guardiola's do you really think he would just jump in and replace his friend like that? I think Benitez will be longer here than you think if he has success. Although lets face it if Roman sacks another manager you are running out of top-class managers to go for.

Well yeah, I completely understand that reason, but when what is done is done, it makes no sense.

Once he is announced as manager then all fans should support him. Everything else is counter-productive.

Again, I understand that but it's completely nonsensical. He is the root cause behind the current issue.

Enough with the baiting and watch the language.

Taking my mod hat off, there is a lot of ill feeling towards Chelsea at the moment, and in all fairness some of it (though certainly not all) is justified.

Also going after Benitez will not get you Pep.

1) you need to finish in the top 4.

2) Pep and Benitez are good friends and Pep puts a lot of stock in to things like loyalty/support, apart from it being part of his personality, they are also key tenets of his philosophy. If anything, its more likely to put Pep off from joining.

Pep is also friends with Fergie and would prefer the United job to Chelsea, even if he has to hold out of football for a few extra years.

I actually don't think Romans going for Pep. I think he wants Jose back or maybe he just gets bored and loves writing P45s? Some people have weird hobbies..
Perhaps young managers should be thankful for Roman, its only a matter of time until we run out of top dogs and have to appoint an unknown, right Avram?

Anyway, today showed what most of us knew. We can defend given the right tactics/discipline (heres looking at you Louise and Rambo). The 3 playmakers couldn't play as they usually do given how big a game it is and how good a team City are so the negative feedback isn't needed in my opinion.
I'd love to see how we play with a striker though, something we've taken for granted over the years it seems.

You copied MEH previous post!!!!! ;)

Not to mention Pep would value his reputation before the money. He is an intelligent/smart and well-respected manager.

Someone on 5 Live made an interesting point that Fergie would consider stepping down for Pep Guardiola to join United, obviously I don't know how much truth there is in this but he is good friends with Fergie and well-respected.

Maybe because they never liked Benitez? I'm sure it would have been the same had he taken ManUtd job.

Roman is Chelsea legend, he is the reason for every single Chelsea won since 2003, why will any Chelsea fan abuse him?

Probably because he's spent a fortune sacking managers-more compensation than our net transfer spend since PL was created lol

I cannot actually believe I just read that, especially the final line.

I don't think Fergie will step down before he's ready for anyone. It's not like there's a particular rush for Guardiola, he has some of the highest stock in the management field and has no rush to take a job that isn't right for him. Roman's Chelsea is the antithesis to everything Guardiola wants from a job.

Chelsea were 2 weeks from administration when he bought them. He's overseen the most successful decade in their history, they do owe a lot of success to him.

It will be a project, and projects take time. And I dont think he will go if he feels he wont get that time.
