No. Seasoned coaches like Rafa or Capello can deal with something like this better. For guys like Pepp or Klopp it just wouldn't be good career choice. They are both so talented but need 2-3 years to work. Cant happen in a club that doesn't have longterm approach.

Propably even more with Klopp - Guardiola already had worldclass team, Klopp went and found some insane bargains (Hummels -4m, Lewandowski - 5m, Kagawa - 500.000, Piszczek - free) and turned Dortmund out of nothing into European power.

Thing is, they had such a seasoned coach. His name was Carlo Ancellotti and they fired him.

I like Klopp. Very much.

Piszczek - free? I didnt know that! We were linked with him before we bought Azpilicueta.

I would never forget that. I was really hurt when I heard they actually fired him in the tunnel. I loved the guy, I still do. A double (first in club's history) in his first year, and they treated him like he was absolute ****.

*******.

He was 3 months away from being in a position to have those players, hardly "wrong time".

If he was in charge, we would never have gotten the likes of Hazard/Oscar. Arguably the best U-23 players on the planet at the moment.

There is always this guy....

Prove it. I'm not convinced on the input any of your managers have had on transfers. Although if you want to claim RDM is responsible for Hazard/Oscar, then if you didn't have AVB you wouldn't have gotten Juan Mata, your most important and best player.

No you misunderstand. Under AVB we were languishing outside the top 4 and on the brink of elimination from the CL. If we were out of the CL then Hazard and Oscar probably would not have come. Especially when you consider that every major club in the world was after Hazard.

Oscar might have still come, but Hazard most definitely wouldn't have.

Don't think Oscar would have come either as Spurs were after him and Spurs would have gotten into the CL had we not won the damm thing :P

Yawn, this argument again. Look at the players City signed before they entered the CL, PSG, even yourselves in the early days. Unlike Chelsea, players have the foresight past a year, and recognise that a club with limitless resources will not be outside competing for top honours for long. Football is volatile, there is no guarantee of the CL, one poor transitional season isn't going to majorly deter players.

And hey, justify it how you want, here's perhaps everyone's favourite damning indictment of the views Chelsea hold, Alex Ferguson.

No idea why you don't mate. I would love Pep at Chelsea. Also Roman has been chasing him for a loong time so he should get enough time.

Because I don't think he will do the things he did at Barca. Oh, and because I love Jose too much. Oh, please. I'm sure he will be sacked the second trophyless year.

"Frank Lampard's agent says Lampard will leave Chelsea in the summer" - Sky.

If he goes in January, we better find someone adequate. Otherwise we're stuck with Ramiers, Mikel and Romeu (and Luiz if you want to weaken the defensive options).

Lets go and find the next midfielder who can score 192 goals and get 100+ assists in 11.5 years. Should be easy.

Paulinho. He is not that type, but a powerful box to box. He can assist as well as shoot from distance.

You could've bought Michu. He's been playing as a striker since his move to England but last season he was playing in central midfield and a few games as an AMC for Rayo (except for a couple of games where he did play as a center forward) and got 15 goals and a few assists for a team that only managed to beat the drop in the last minute of the last game of the season.

I would've taken him at Everton in a heartbeat.

Both PSG and Man City will struggle with FFP because they need/needed to pay ridiculous wages to convince elite players to play for them without the allure of Champions League football.

The players may have been happy to join Chelsea, although I'm pretty sure Hazard would be playing in Manchester if we hadn't won the Champions League, but would we have been able to afford it without the extra revenue that the Champions League win provided us with?

They're doing exactly what differently to Chelsea, other than joining the game later?

Ok lets look at it from Hazard's perspective. And lets assume Chelsea were not in the CL. Would he have joined a club not in the CL albeit with vast resources or a club like one of the Manchester clubs who are in the CL and have vast resources themselves?
