Letting Lamps go is a disgrace. This is how you repay a club legend Roman/advisors?

I'd like him to go to Lazio thought if he does go. A Gazza esque welcome would be great to see, not sure if hes that appreciated outside of England mind.

Ok lets look at it from Hazard's perspective. And lets assume Chelsea were not in the CL. Would he have joined a club not in the CL albeit with vast resources or a club like one of the Manchester clubs who are in the CL and have vast resources themselves?

There are other players than Hazard, you know? He's hardly sparkled.

They're doing exactly what differently to Chelsea, other than joining the game later?

Thats the crux of the matter though. Chelsea have had time to clean up their act whereas both PSG and Man City having joined this game later have not had time.

He is 21. Vastly talented. Maybe even going to be the best player in the world one day., Their is a reason every major club in the world wanted his signature. You cant base your judgement on half a season.

To be fair, the only way Lampard can stay on is if he takes a hefty wage cut which I don't think he will do. Renewing a 34 year-old players contract who is on 150k p/w in the FFP era is just not sensible.

You were acting like if AVB was in charge, and you didn't get Hazard, Chelsea would have collapsed into footballing abyss. Just pointing out your weak justifications for shooting yourselves in the foot on AVB.

I am just pointing out that had AVB been in charge, we would not have signed either one of Hazard or Oscar. Both of whom are tremendously talented players and have the potential to go right to the very top. We would have had to settle for lesser players.

And please don't think this is my sole reason for jusifying AVB's sacking. Not being able to sign these 2 players would have been merely secondary consequences had we kept AVB in charge. But we have been through all that and its getting boring now so I think we should just agree to disagree :)

Well, I'll just leave it at saying that it would have been much easier for you to find suitable young players, than it will be to find a suitable manager, IMO. :)

Joao Moutinho + Griezmann.

Sofiane Feghouli and Arda Turan.

Why wouldn't he? By the summer he is 35, do you think anyone out there is going to offer him even 100k? I'm sure he would rather stay , it's just they want him out - lack of stability makes senior players think they're untouchable, and we've seen with AVB how that ends up.

They havent even offered him a contract, thats how much they want him out. They havent even tried to negotiate. I at least would have said offer a pay cut one year deal a la Scholes.

Does anyone want Pep at Chelsea? I sure don't, but do you?

Not really no, the man needs time so what is the point of him coming to us?

Thing is, they had such a seasoned coach. His name was Carlo Ancellotti and they fired him.

A man we should NOT have sacked! I am quietly confident if he was given his last year he may even still be in charge now and that's saying something!

Did a blog on this the other week stating there is always 2 sides to every story. Yes the club may not have offered him anything yet but who's to say Lampard is demanding things he shouldn't be getting? I'd say knock 50k off his wages and a year contract and possibility of an extension if he proves himself.

And as for not keeping Cole. LOL, that is all.

Sentimental terms out the way and just pure footballing reasons this is more of a joke than Lampard!

If Lampard is demanding crazy deals then fair enough. But it sounds like the isnt much compromise going on, and not keeping Cole is crazy.

Only just saw the match now to be honest. You raped them and on another day you could've won by 3-4 goals. What a goal from SWP.

Asia/USA/Middle East

I honestly thinks Frank should just go to the MLS. We could use him, and I appreciate that he wants to stay with us, but it's clear that the hierarchy wants shot of him. He'd be a massive, super glamorous signing over there though. He'd be totally devastating because every MLS game I've ever watched is slow and the marking is terrible. He wouldn't need to adapt his game in a way that doesn't suit him and he'd be free to go on a rampage again. The fans would love him, he'd make a **** ton of cash, he'd live in the sun and he'd easily be the best player in the league for 2/3 more years.

He should just go and be happy.
