Gary Cahill is not in the Chelsea squad today because his partner went into labour this morning. He is now the proud father of a baby boy. Congratulations to the Cahill family!

Congratulations to John Terry.

I still don't see the logic in letting Lampards contract expire.

Lukaku gets a second for Albion, bet you can't wait to get him back. He'***** the woodwork two-three times this game too.

Frank is a ******* selfish ****. Twice in a matter of weeks he has denied a player a hattrick.

Rafa the merciful. Giving Stoke a chance to get back in the game by playing with 10 men.

Wonder what the record is for the most number of own goals by one player is......

Very impressive win this by Chelsea

2.. Walters joins Carragher, Proctor and i think Bean on 2 own goals in a gamw

He is on 150k p/w and its just not sensible to keep a 34 year-old player on those sort of wages in the FFP era. He would have to take a massive pay-cut to justify his inclusion which I doubt he will do. Plus all good things must eventually end.
he is a key player, he plays Chelsea look different, has ran the game today.

FFP is one thing, letting your top players go for free, potentially to rivals is madness

Just because he ran the game today does not make him a key player. And he is not one of our top players really. Can put in a performance now and then but really should be let go if Chelsea want to move forward. Its time for the likes of Hazard and Oscar to lead the new era.

Ahh that's right. Carra got two in a Spurs match didn't he?

All time record for a team though is 149 own goals by SO l'Emyrne against AS Adema. Bit different though as it was a protest against constant going against them of refereeing decisions lol. Would've been quite an interesting viewing

Well, your scores with and with out Lampard say otherwise.

Like when we lost 4-0 to Atletico Madrid because Lampard ****** up positionally in the double pivot? Or when we lost that 2 goal lead to Juventus at the Bridge?

As people have said, its all good and well playing him against weaker sides but against the good teams his weaknesses can get badly exposed

Stoke aren't a weak side though-they're a good, well established Premier League side-and only 7 points off 5th (I think). And today did a very good job. Still think he's a integral part of the squad myself. Though that could be my bias toward him I guess

If ******* up positionally would disqualify people from Chelsea's squad, Cech would be playing solo.

When Frank was healthy you were at the top of table. Frank got injured, suddenly you played so terrible di Mateo got fired and Chelsea fell so behind MU, any chance to win the title is gone. Frank got back and you started winning again.

If that's not a definition of key player, i don't know what is.

You do know that Lampard was hardly 'key' in our move to the top of the table. That he was actually dropped by Di Matteo himself. That he did not exactly play every game during the initial stage of the season when we were doing well.

The whole point is that Lampard does not fit in with the footballing philosophy that the club wants to establish by rebuilding the team. Is he a good player? On his day yes. Is he worth keeping in the squad for 150k p/w purely for emotional reasons and that fact that he can deliver a performance against a weak team on his day? No

Its quite hilarious really. I remember last season when everyone was criticizing the 'Old Guard' and saying that they should be gone. Now suddenly they are key players of the squad.
