the big London derby. rafa benitez looked like he was about to have heart attack shaking wengers hand lol :)

Ba is on for 10 minutes and he wins a free-kick and was very unlucky not to score. It was a superb block by Vermalean. Did more than Torres did in 80 minutes.

Yes , lets ignore the fact that once Arsenal woke up, your midfield fell apart. That was the actual issue today, they pressed you so hard 2nd half. Ramires should have been sent off.

I am not sure we are on the same wavelength here... I am merely pointing out the differences between Ba and Torres' performances today. Nothing more. Nothing less.

But it wasnt even particularly key to the game, its a side issue.

I'd like a Demba start some time this season please Rafa.

Thought Hazard was great, his close control is fantastic.

How good was Eden Hazard in the first half? Put in the sort of performance which justifies why every major club in the world was after him the previous summer.

Not to mention the fact that by that point Arsenal had switched formation, were playing much more aggressive and pressing much harder opening them up to things like that to happen.

Hardly a side issue. A good striker can cover up their team's flaws and win games on their own.

It was more than a flaw, you crumbled entirely down your left flank, and often through the middle, to the point that Ramires should have been sent off.

But Ba would have prevented that....?

The main issue is that your midfield falls apart when it gets pressed hard, it's happening all the time. Sure a good striker would get you out of trouble but you shouldn't NEED to rely on a striker to bail you out.

Eagerly waiting for Mikel to get back on the 29th. A Lampard-Ramires pivot is horribly unbalanced and is definitely not good for protecting a lead.

Every time i watch it fall apart, I wonder what the **** they were thinking about letting Essien go

I agree with this completely. Horrible decision. I really hope we are looking into getting a midfielder in before January ends.
