What he still is still correct though. Chelsea might have a decent attacking outfit, but it is nowhere near on the level of United's (in terms of output if not on paper), and the rest of the side isn't as good either.

I'm not denying his quality but going by any logic he is not the best player in the league.
Suarez (as much as I hate him) was amazing too and he did with even worse team.
RVP scored so many important goals, there was a stat posted by Whoscored.com saying he won more points than any player in the league and the next player was miles behind.
Michu scored 17 goals and that too in his first season in the league.
Bale was just amazing since December. I feel just because Sky overrates him, people don't give him enough credit.
Mata had brilliant season but I would rate him as 4th best player in the league behind RVP, Suarez, Bale.
If Bale wins the player of the year, it means he deserves it more than he did in 2010-11 season anyways.
Bale has been amazing since his hattrick against Villa. Carried Spurs almost singlehandedly (interms of goal scoring) since then. He is the main reason why Spurs are in CL places contention.
Very poor performance today but i really do not care! 3 points was absolutely key and even puts us up to 3rd! I thought Hazard, Mata and Oscar looked out of ideas today but the inclusion of Torres bought a new pace and energy about the team. Both Bertrand and Mikel were sensational again today as was Luiz as times. Big week over and done for us and we come out of it with only one hic-up, i would have taken that for sure. UTC

Not really no, does it really matter if we finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th? Just as long as we finish in the top 4.
Personally I'd rather finish as high as possible, rather than hoping one of my rivals don't do quite as well.
But its in our hands anyway, if we keep winning we will finish top 4, if we don't well then we don't.
The point is, had United won, your chances of finishing in top 4 go way up. City in range means an extra team that can potentially have bad form and get knocked out to 5th place.
Take a look at City's remaining games, then look at Chelsea's. City winning or losing to United makes no difference, as they would have to mess up two or three more times, which realistically on paper isn't likely (Plus Chelsea would have to produce a near perfect run in).

Its just not going to happen though is it? Its one of Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal to miss out not City regardless of the result yesterday. Having the record points total is something to be quite proud of.
Due to an abandoned sunday league game i had to record the Chelsea game and have just finished watching it from start to finish without knowing the score or anything which was very hard! Mixed feelings about the game really, scored two really good goals with Torres scoring AGAIN and Ake's performance was brilliant too. Disappointed with the goals conceded and ****** off with the penalty because no way was there contact and you saw the mugs wink proved that! Done just enough over the two legs and with Spurs out you would have to favor us now. Roll on Sunday!

Basel. Probably the best draw possible for us. With 2nd leg at the Bridge.
Happy with that as id rather play Benfica in a one off game. Suppose its down to us to show Utd and Spurs how to beat Basel then.
Well we beat Benfica home and away in the Champions League last season and yes they are a strong side but I believe when playing well we are better and I think we should be winning the Europa League tbh.
I think over 2 legs Benfica would have beaten us, but in a one off game anything can happen. Happy we got Basel because i'd rather them over the other 2 especially away from home in Turkey.
