You weren't boring, that was my point by saying Jose mixes it up to suit the opposition and to get the result, you could of scored 4 or 5 goals against City.

I agree, was more a response to TJD's post. Should've quoted

I'm not saying the team can't play well and at times they really do play some nice football, which is a shame when 3-4 days later you see them roll out with 8 players at the back and doing nothing but waiting for someone to mess up.

I might not like Mourinho but he's truly one of the best at getting results against the best when he needs to. Much like what LFCMarshall had just said in the Liverpool thread his sort of go to style is costing Chelsea against teams that he can't just sit back and soak up pressure against.

Pressure will be there next season though. Jose must be aware of this and I think he already is. Roman will give him the 50mil-rated striker.

Yep., unless Simeone wins the double ....

Meh, even then I'd be surprised.

It's been a while, and Chelsea are well within FFP regs. I would not be surprised to see the Abramovich-peen get flopped out again.

Meh, we can get a 50M striker from our revenues only, no need of investment from Abramovich this summer unless we have to spend outrageous amount on someone like Pogba/Shaw as well. Although I expect a usual Emenalo youngster signing instead of Shaw who seems way highly priced.

Even then I'd be surprised as Simeone is not the one to play "attractive" football and I'm sure our board and Roman knew what kind of football Mourinho will play when they brought him back, must be discussed before signing him on a long term, highly paying contract.

Plus not many Chelsea fans crave football played "the right way". With United seemingly out of the picture for next 3-4 years (or I'd like to think that, at least) we have a genuine shot at dominance. While City seem to have endless resources and unmatched ability to spend, they might not be able to match up to us for various reasons, of course I'm not talking of domination like Fergie's United but close (for next 3-4 years). City aren't dominant in Europe, like Chelsea have been.

Also I'm sure by now he's learnt how much managerial instability has cost in the past, it was old guard, however much you may criticise them(AVB saga), that kept things going. Also, Mourinho has from the start been saying this year is for transition and he has a very young set of players, he has to build the team to challenge on all fronts from next season, which laughably has been labelled as "mind games" or him "playing down chances". Which is not the case, he always follows up with "we will be challenging with full force from next season", which no one seems to notice.

It is also evident with his comments like "City have a team to win now, players in their primes, we have a team to win in future." These comments, and the fact that he's agreed to work with a Director of football and is happy with limited control, indicate he and board both knew the aims for this season and long term plan. Emenalo had been collecting players for Pep Guardiola, all these playmakers, no solid power and pace.

Matic has been a different signing, let's see how summer goes, IF the rumours of Vidal (which I don't believe) are true, and if we really are interested, it'll be clear which direction the club wants to go in. If he finishes second season without major trophy, then maybe I'll consider that as a possibility.

Both Petr Cech and John Terry trained today and could be fit to play tomorrow after it seemed both players seasons were over just a week ago. Warriors

I said last week that there was absolutely no way that Terry wouldn't lead us out next week. As for Cech i don't think he will play but training already is a ******* joke! Just shows how great our medical staff are, i suspect he will be kept for the final if we make it. Eto'o and Hazard both ready too!

Next fixture Atletico Madrid (H) on 30/04/14 @19:45 on SkySports:

Honestly think this match will be a step too far for us ... Any goal Atletico score will be worth double. Have a bad feeling about today
