Perhaps it's a season of transition for you, but when you're spend as much as you have, then you can't really use it as much of an excuse. Also, when you use the fact that some players (Oscar, Hazard, etc.) are young and have not peaked, as an excuse, it's invalid, since every team has players who've not reached their peak (we have Coutinho, Sterling, Henderson, Mignolet, Flanagan just to name a few), so you can't say you're in transition just because a few players haven't fulfilled their potential yet.

City also have a manager who's just joined the club, while we have spent (in terms of net spend) very little this season (and last season, if I recall correctly). It would be harsh to criticise Mourinho, but I don't think we should be applauding him yet unless he can secure second place or win the title.

There are always tactical counters. But playing game at home with 6 defenders, two attacking players and no real midfielder is probably not one of them.

I can think of plenty. One would be not to start with completely retarded lineup so you actually have the ability to try and make some changes in case something goes wrong. He made 3 attacking substitutions and still had barely any offensive power on the pitch. That's how bad it was.

Well deserved Atletico Madrid, absolutely no complaints from me what so ever. The thing is we didn't actually "park the bus" tonight despite naming 5 defenders and Luiz. But you can bet your bottom dollar the same people who slated us for "parking the bus" are the same ones who will be slating us for going out tonight, hypocrisy at the highest level!

Think we started quite well actually and Hazard looked quite dangerous early on. But soon as they got their goal which was from a catalogue of errors i felt they had enough to see it out. Must say Jose takes blame today, not sure about the starting 11 and his subs and timing of subs and don't even think we played poorly just think this Atletico side are a freak of nature right now.

Yes we will probably go this season without a trophy but we will finish in the top 3 probably a couple of points behind the eventual winners and reaching a Champions League semi final, i'd consider that some sort of progress wouldn't you? The team is coming to an end of a transition and doing all this without a legitimate striker i wouldn't consider this season a failure by any stretch of the imagination.

I wish Atletico all the best in the league and the final, as much as i love Carlo Ancelotti i want both Courtois and Diego Costa to rock up in SW6 next season as WINNERS!

This was like watching Bayern against Real, only it wasn't funny any more. I can't recall a lot of times Jose screwed up
tactics/line-ups, but this has to be one of those occasions. On the positive side, we made it to the semi's, which is miles ahead of last years progress.
