I'm still waiting for the window to end before I judge. I have to say though, if we're not going to do any more business then I am not pleased that we have sold both Mata and Luiz when only one was needed to fund our summer shopping.

Tbf though, I am sure no one expected that we would be able to sell Luiz for £50m in the summer

I don't think anyone expected Fabregas to be both available and heading to the Bridge either.

Seems as if opposition fans are more annoyed about Lukaku going than Chelsea fans are! As i keep saying there must be a reason no "top tier" clubs want him. Costa got what 1 hamstring injury last season and only made it worse because he played on and all of a sudden he has "glass hamstrings"! And this is not Fifa, its not that easy getting rid of players especially one on 170k a week!

“It was disappointing. The Champions League semi-final was a good achievement with a young team but we don’t want to be in the semi-final - we want to get through and win the Final. Quotes from a man who only knows and wants to win and see's everything else as a failure. Yes these are quotes from our manager Jose Mourinho, or are they? Yes these are quotes you would tend to see from him but these quotes are actually from someone else who is a born winner and will win at any cost, our German World Cup winner Andre Schurrle.

A long term club target the club seemed to have a deal in place to bring him to SW6 last summer but the deal hit a snag as Chelsea re-appointed Jose Mourinho they let him have the say on this transfer and it was no surprise he went ahead with it. Although Andre struggled to hold down a starting role early on or even for the majority of last season he never complained once and just fought for his place. A goal against Man City and a brace against Stoke being the main points in his first 6 months mainly as a sub. But what stands out for me is that whenever he takes part in a interview majority of his answers you could place Jose Mourinho's name next to them and you would not know the difference, this man just wants to win at any cost.

This for me was proven during Germany's 7-1 humiliation of Brazil in the semi final of this wonderful World Cup which has just passed us. Germany lead Brazil in their own back-yard 5-0 at half time game over, a population of near 200million reduced to tears, anger and pain. You saw the Germany players instantly think "okay this is enough after all these are our fellow professionals and friends, lets take our foot off the pedal to save any more embarrassment whilst saving ourselves for Sunday's final". Even the German boss Joachim Low bought off Hummels at half time and then Klose near the hour mark but its the man he bought on for Klose who must have not been part of the Germans "lets not make this any worse for our friends" pact. Andre Schurrle the born winner, the man who will win at all cost and doesn't care who he hurts in the process comes on the pitch and grabs himself 2 goals whilst handing Brazil their biggest ever defeat and the worst defeat to a side in a World Cup semi final ever.

This is the type of man built for a club like Chelsea and built for a manager like Jose Mourinho and i am not surprised Jose went ahead with the transfer despite him being a club target. I suspect we will see a lot more of Schurrle next season and he for me is fast becoming a Chelsea cult hero.

Diego Costa got one injury. Doesn't mean he has glass hamstrings. I broke my shoulder once, doesn't mean my arm is in danger of falling off.

P.S ALL ABOARD THE CAVANI TRAIN

There's a tiny, bright eyed child in my heart that is doing some fun maths. He says that we have an extra £25m to add to our already ridiculous pot and we need to find another HG player. He says we could sign Cavani and Pogba and all the pain will go away.

But it's Chelsea, so if I let him out to play we will sign Griezmann, Ward Prowse and give Torres a contract extension. ;_;

Tbf offloading Torres is very very difficult as his wages are too high. Rumors that Chelsea are trying to sell Torres for long time but there aren't any takers.

No top tier clubs are in for him as they don't need him.

ManUtd have Rooney, RVP, Welbeck.
City have Aguero, Negredo, Jovetic, Dzeko.
Arsenal have Giroud and they play some weird tactics.
Liverpool have Sturridge who wants to be the main striker.

Ignoring all that, you wouldn't sell him to United, Spurs, City, Liverpool or Arsenal or ask for silly price.

Apart from that there aren't many teams who can afford the fee and wages.
Bayern? They have signed Lewandowski.
Madrid? Benzema, Ronaldo all that.
Barca? No comments.
PSG? Their star striker wants out as he doesn't want to play as second fiddle to Ibra. Lukaku can only play in Ibra's position.
Monaco? Falcao.
Atletico? They signed Mandzukic.

Italian clubs are broke and they can't afford to pay more than 30 Million euros.
Juve? They have Tevez and Llorente.
Milan and Inter can't afford him.
Roma? They can't afford too, even if they do they have Destro.

No top teams were in for him is way too simplistic way of looking at things.

I think the idea is that he simply isn't good enough to start for a top tier club as seen by how he wouldn't be an upgrade to any of the strikers you just listed out ... So even if there was space available, they probably wouldn't buy him and look at other options first as seen by how Atletico bought Mandzukdic even though they probably were offered Lukaku

Wouldn't actually mind a decent option like Loic Remy coming in to provide valuable cover off the bench ...

Actually I was referring to your point about selling Mata and Luiz. I am sure the club never guessed they would get £50m for Luiz which would massively subsidize their forays into the transfer market. If they did, they might not have sold Mata to United but instead sold him abroad at the cost of a lower transfer fee

No way we're having Costa Torres and Drogba for the whole season. 1 more is coming !!!!!!!!!!

According to my informers Chelsea is currently after Bendtner.

When a good player comes along top sides take the gamble on them, Monaco have the James money in their pocket now with only Falcao as main striker and in the Champions League next season? Spurs have only Adebayor, Atletico only now have Mandzukic and money to spend, Liverpool have money to spend and need to bridge the gap left by Suarez leaving. Top clubs would have taken him if he was worth the risk.

love it how every1 eles is having a fit about you lot selling him where as you the fans dont seem to give 2 hoots

Been coming for a while. I think people would be more annoyed if he hadn't been engaging in a lot of passive aggressive insults toward the club over the last year, or if he had shown himself to be proud/willing to work for his place. A lot of us are sad to see his talent go, but are rather glad to see the back of him personality wise.
