Transfer window has gone awfully quiet for English clubs as of late ... Genuinely wouldn't mind taking either one of Hernandez/Fellaini off United's hands. They would add very nicely to our depth. I know United don't sell to rival clubs but think after the Mata sale, some goodwill has been created and they owe us one

No, because that would be stupid to sell to Chelsea.

Not sure why United fans don't rate him. As he showed in the WC, he is still a very good player. One bad season doesn't change that

They haven't got right system and players to utilise him. He needs to be able to run into the box. Pretty hard to do that when he's typically played as holding midfielder.

The obvious working tonight so missed the game and watching it now at stupid o'clock in the early morning but hay ho. On the whole we have to be pleased with the result and performance today against a side who are into their season already so their match sharpness will be far better than ours currently and that does play a big part in player and team performances.
1st half wasn't great and felt Zouma was ball watching when he should have been closer to Gera but the cross was brilliant and put on a plate for him. Drogba's injury is a worry of course but i don't think it will be a long lay off maybe couple of weeks.

All changed for the 2nd half as i felt the introduction of Costa gave their defence something to actually worry about and i liked Salah playing on the left as he gave us something we lack and have lacked for a long time in natural width and it was his cross (although deflected) which led to Ramires's wonderstrike.

I do have sort of a bone to pick with some Chelsea fans regarding Cesc Fábregas. I have seen a lot of fans this pre-season saying things like "he's passing is quality and "this guy is really good". And i ask have you been living under rocks for the past 8 years? Have we only just worked this out, he has been top drawer for a long long time now and i was absolutely ecstatic when we signed him and i said at the time he would be our best signing for years. On 76 minutes he showed me why we signed him and what we had been missing in the "2" in the 4-2-3-1 when in the centre circle Chelsea on the counter attack he hit a first time 30 yard ball with pace straight to Hazard's feet who set up a chance. That quick pass from deep is something we have been missing since AVB came in and switched us to a 4-2-3-1 (hence why he wanted Luka Modric so much).

Now on to our first home friendly for 8 years and one i will be attending and that buzz of the Premier League being back has come back to me again. Roll on Monday the 18th!!! UTC!

Torres and Drogba have been pretty anonymous so far. We definitely need a new striker and I hope Jose's hand is forced now with Drogba's injury and all

For me personally, his versatility is a huge plus. He can play as a holding midfielder. As a rampaging box-to-box midfielder in a midfield 3. He can even shift up and play as a striker if need be. If United really want to let him go, he shouldn't have a shortage of suitors imo

Also Ramires looked fantastic when he was finally given the freedom to rampage forward from a midfield 3. It was in that role where he enjoyed so much success under AVB. Hope to see more of such performances from him next season

No he can't, well not to any good level consistently, his positioning is terrible.

Not saying that's his best position but he can play there in a pinch. As well as play as a striker if necessary. That's why I said he would add very nicely to our depth at the price he is reportedly available at. He is a good player

It would most likely be double for Chelsea lol

Generally it's Diego Costa winding other players up, not the other way round. He didn't get a single red last year in a league much more prone to hand out cards. He'll be fine.
