That's not true at all. Barca finished 3rd in 2007-08 and IIRC 18 points behind Madrid. He took over side that was completely out of ideas and on decline.
First thing he did was inject young blood into the team and get rid of old egos like Ronaldinho, Deco, even tried to sell Eto'o but did later. Also Zambrotta, Thuram left. That was a massive change in the playing 11.
He signed one of the best RB of the last decade Dani Alves who was one of the key player for Barca, Keita, Pique and promoted Biscuits. All played key roles. And Xavi, Iniesta reached new heights with Pep as manager, Messi was moved from wide right to central.
Saying one of the best team was handed out to Pep is simply not true, it's like saying Ranieri handed best team to Jose, Mancini handed treble winners to Jose and Rafa, AVB and Roberto gave the team that won PL this time.
Still made it to the Semi Finals of CL (better than Jose)
Semi Finals of German cup (better than Jose)
and won league and their players went on holidays much before Chelsea players did and to add to that they have biggest injury problem among the big teams in Europe.

I said all along that he was a Nani type player, and could not see what everyone was raving about. Having watched Fiorentina for nearly 2-3 yrs. He has always been a frustrating and inconsistent player. Most people were just going off his performances at the world cup imo. People say its his 1st time in the league which is fair enough. But they should not be supprised to see he contribute little in a lot of games.
Have you seen the German league? Bayern Munich are far above the rest ... Not surprised they can win it early and then focus on CL by resting key players periodically before failing their eventually. Even Dortmund didn't give them a fight this season. We also won one cup incidentally so better than Pep. Not sure shout players going on holiday considering they still have CL to focus on
Big injury problems is an excuse. Every team suffers from injuries. Bayern have an amazing and deep enough squad to cope

Used his financial muscle to raid his league rivals for their best players (Lewandowski and Goetze). Walked the league with a dominant team but still can't win CL getting embarrassed against Ancelloti's Madrid. In this case, he was handed a treble winning team
Incidentally, Jose made CL semis last season with a completely unbalanced Chelsea squad (No Matic and no proper striker) and crashed out against the better team Atletico Madrid. Same as Pep and his great Bayern team
Yes you won 1 extra cup because only in England that mickey mouse cup is played.
PL is not much better this season and it is proved by their performances in CL and Europa.
Injuries is not an excuse, it's what happened. Excuse is you saying "Chelsea had imbalanced squad last season" everytime. Bayern have massive injury problems and there are no players who can replace them. There is no way players like Robben, Ribery, Alaba, Martinez, Thiago can be replaced by squad players at the same time. Badstubber just came back from injury (2 years out from injury), Martinez is back after 18 months out, Schweinsteiger was injured for months, Thiago is back after 12-16 months, Alaba is out of the season, Robben and Ribery are already out from last month or 2.
That's a massive problem. Chelsea would have done lot worse if players like Matic, Fabregas, Hazard were injured, nevermind half of first team.
Going out against the trio of Messi, Suarez, Neymar is nothing to be ashamed of especially considering their injury problems, on the other hand getting embarrassed in Paris playing ugly and defensive football and getting out played and beaten by 10 men at home and that too when their star player was wrongly sent off is embarrassing.
And you guys call one as the best in the world and other as overrated.
He was handed treble winning squad except the key players from that team were on treatment table more often that not.
Alaba, Robben, Ribery, Martinez, Schweinsteiger were key players in their treble winning squad, including Kroos and he missed all these players in CL this season. So not exactly treble winning squad.
Please tell me where I called Pep overrated? I just made a simple comparison as to how fans paint Chelsea as unworthy champions yet suck on Pep's **** with his tiki-taka football even though he is suffering more defeats

What about last season? Was he missing key players then as well when he got embarrassed against Ancelloti's Madrid who really weren't as good as they were are made out to be. Atletico took them to the cleaners last season. This season also, he could have won the tie as his squad was good enough but he chose to keep attacking stupidly in the last 20 minutes in the 1st leg and conceded 3 goals
Yeah when United win it, it's a proper league cup. When any other team win it, it's the Mickey Mouse cup. German League is massively polarized with Bayern completely dominating over the rest. EPL is very competitive with United spending massively in the market, City and their great squad as well as Arsenal all legitimate title contenders. German League has no legitimate title contenders after Bayern raided everyone's squad
Not you, other Chelsea fans whenever Pep loses a game. Not sure who called Chelsea as unworthy champions and who sucks Pep's **** but I can point many who suck Jose' **** whenever he flukes a win and it is called as masterstroke by few here.
He lost Champions league semi finals against Madrid managed by one of the best cup managers, so what? How many times Jose lost Champions league games? For a record Pep's CL record is among the best.

I don't know why people question him for losing Semi finals and at the same time don't even question Jose for losing Semi Finals and QF's managing the most costliest squad every assembled, managing Madrid and Chelsea.
Pep's record is fantastic and only Heynckes can boast better record.
Yeah German league is easy for Bayern but at the same time PL this season was no better. Last season it was great but this season it wasn't. Credit to Chelsea though for winning it. If Bayern played in PL they would have won PL easily too as they are much better than any PL team.
Also re the last point, then Jose's first 2 PLs are of no use. Massively overspent in the league and that too when other teams were on decline or rebuilding. It was same like German league with Chelsea signing everyone and others were rebuilding after big players retirement/getting sold.
