Beginning of Season 2011-12.

Team buying: Napoli, Villareal
Team selling: Portsmouth (me)
Fee: $17.5M or 10.5 GBP
year 2011: He is 28 years old.
Percentage of transfer funds made available = 40%
Current transfer budget = $34M
Obviously, normally I wouldn't sell him because it is not easy to get a player like him to sign for me. But my finances are not so rosy:
A bank loan of $80M is coming due at the end of the season. So, deal or no deal?

If he's your best player then no deal, let the banks destroy you but if he isn't performing every match then you need that money. So then Deal.
He's my best player by far. I don't think it will be prudent to sell him for anything less than $30M, which I won't get. He's only taking $69,000 p/w in wages and is determine to help the club progress. Somehow, he took a lot of time settling down, but now he can even score some free kicks. No deal!
Also, I can get players like this for $400K; it is unbelievable!

I just have a quick question, and I wasn't sure where to post it but it will decide whether I buy this player or not.
I have found this guy, a decent technical player with a decent brain. But he is SO SLOW! However, he does have excellent positioning. So my question is, if he is often in the right place, does that mean he will still perform without being quick.

Also, do you think he would make an OK centre-back back-up? Wherever he were to play, he would not be first choice, but I would like some advice before deciding whether to sign him. Thanks.
Edit: I just realised he is still reasonably young, do you think I could get his pace and acceleration up still?

Thanks guys. I thought so too. Last year he had snubbed me, but a year on the bench has perhaps made him see reason. He wanted $110K p/w for 4 years, but I only gave him $84K p/w. I did pay him $4M signing bonus instead of $1M, but it still seems a very sweet deal to me.

Player: Carlos Tevez

Now normally, I'd tell Chelsea to stay away but this has me somewhat interested. His value has doubled since the start of the game after he won Player of the Year, European Goalscorer of the Year, Premier League Player of the Year twice and Footballer of the Year. His current player valuation stands right now at £28.25 million and I'm assuming to ask for a substantially higher price to see how badly London wants him.
Ancelotti has been praising him all year and Tevez seems to not mind really. He scored 36 goals this season and helped me win the League Cup, the Premier League and the Quarter Final of the Champion's League.
I'm thinking around £40 million for Tevez but more than willing to offer more if I can milk Chelsea for more. It would seem like a good piece of business for me. Plus I can offload his crazy wage demands and pick up a wonderkid on the cheap who demands 1/4 of his wages.
I still have Adebayor banging in 30+ goals a season as cover. Only a matter of time before an Italian club comes for him (Juventus and Inter have made several attempts).
