Formed in 2005 after a takeover from the energy drink giant, Red Bull, the club name was changed from SV Austria Salzburg to FC Red Bull Salzburg along with the kit colour from Violet and White to Red and White. The management and staff were also changed declaring ‘This is a new club with no history.’
Since then, ‘Rote Bullen’ have won the Austrian Bundesliga (or the Premier Division in Football Manager) on 3 occasions, in 2007, 2009 2010 and were runners up 3 times, in 2006, 2008 and 2011.
How many this may be a refreshing change of pace as you may have never managed in Austria, but I can assure you that it is tons of fun.
Your challenge is to take Red Bull Salzburg from the summit of Austrian football, to European powerhouses.
