Pre Match Thoughts
I let my assistant Mark Hams pick what he thought was the best squad for a 4-5-1 formation, with Bobby Traynor being the only striker & Tommy Williams sitting at the back of the midfield. I've got 12 subs & I'm not afraid to use them as my aim of the first two friendlies is to assess what we already have. Leatherhead should prove to be a reasonable enough test for us & they have the skill to show me where I need to fix up my team.
Match Report – First Half
It took only 8 minutes for my side to go 1:0 up thanks to a Tommy Williams screamer from 25 yards out, not a bad way to signal your intent to your new manager! On 21 minutes Ryan Lake took a free kick from near the left corner flag & aimed for the box, the cross was deflected out of the box to Bobby Traynor who turned & shot narrowly over. Leatherhead's best chance of the half came on the 36th minute when they put a free kick from outside the box just over. Only one minute after Leatherhead's free kick Steve Tyson put the ball through to Tony Bedeau on the right, who darted in towards the goal & struck against the post. The 4th official had only just signaled for 1 minute of injury time when Steve Tyson chipped the keeper, the crossbar denied him a goal but Dean Lodge was there to tap into the open net to make it 2:0 to Kingstonian for half time.
Match Report – Second Half
Going on Hams' feedback, I added an extra striker to the side in the shape of Carl Wilson-Denis who came on for midfielder Tony Bedeau. I also decided to swap Steve Tyson & Adam Thompson for Simon Huckle & Francis Duku as I went 4-4-2 for the second half. The first signs of second half action in the blistering summer heat happened on the 60th minute with Tommy Williams blasting over a free kick; Des Boating replaced Tommy Williams soon after. Kingstonian extended their lead to 3:0 after very unselfish play by half time sub Carl Wilson-Denis, who instead of shooting from close range, layed it up for Bobby Traynor who slipped the ball under the keeper into the bottem left of the goal. As the match entered the final 20 minutes, Ryan Lake swung in a corner that was easily controlled by an unmarked Max Ellison-Hustwick, Hustwick fired the ball into the net to make it 4:0 to The K's. Lewis Cook & Lee Hall came on for scorer of the 2nd goal Dean Lodge & Ryan Lake. On 83 minutes Carl Wilson-Denis sliced the Leatherhead defence with a well placed pass to set up Bobby Traynor for the 2nd time this game, 5:0 to Kingstonian.
Post Match Thoughts
Well, that went entirely to plan didn't it?! The only negative is our passing, which has been bad but not poor. This is something Hams agrees with so I'll be looking into a bit more passing training for some players. As a whole this could be my starting eleven for the first league game, with exception for the obvious transfers in & out over the next few weeks.

Monday 13th July 2009 – Palmer & Cluzel in, Finnie & Simpson out
Kingstonian have signed 19 year old left back Barry Palmer on a free transfer. Palmer was previously on the books of Darlington. K's legend David Leworthy commented on how Grundy has landed the club a real bargain buy. The fans, however, seem to be more excited about the signing of French 26 year old striker Laurent Cluzel on a free. Cluzel has previously played for Hinckley United in the Conference North.
In order to ballence the books, Grundy has had to release defenders Wayne Finnie & Scott Simpson from their contracts. The new K's boss would like to wish them well for the future.

Pre Match Thoughts
I decided to pick some of the better players that was not involved in my starting line up against Leatherhead & also my two new signings. Still playing at 4-5-1 despite the massive improvement we saw on the pitch at half time in the last game when we changed to 4-4-2.
Match Report – First Half
Another early goal for Kingstonian in this game, just 5 minutes into the game Lewis Cook crossed the ball from the left wing over to Liam Collins on the edge of the box. Collins cut inside a defender & slotted the ball home past the Met Police keeper to break the deadlock. Just 3 minutes after that, the exact same tihng happened but this time Liam Collins decided to cross it back in for Laurent Cluzel who headed just wide. On 16 minutes Lewis Cook was the provider once again as he crossed in from the back line of the pitch for Liam Collins to head it in to score his & Kingstonian's second. Around the 20 minute mark Karl Beckford had two opppertunities & shot wide both times. 10 minutes before half time Rob Sheridan bundled the ball over the line after a Liam Collins corner turned the penalty area into chaos to make it 3:0 to The K's. Just before half time Metropolitan Police turned criminal as they gave away a penalty which Liam Collins converted to get his hat-trick. 4:0 to The K's at half time.
Match Report – Second Half
There were no half time subs for Kingstonian & the second half kicked off. Just after the restart Lewis Cook struck the post from close range. I decided to make a change 15 minutes into the half & took Lewis Cook off for Dean Lodge. Karl Beckford's free kick on the 70th minute clipped the crossbar & went out for a goal kick. A comparitively quiet second hslf drew to a close & the game ended 4:0 to Kingstonian.
Post Match Thoughts
Another impressive performance by the lads, there's not one person in my squad who I'll be happy to release after this... but in order to bring people in I have to let people go. K's next game will be at home to League Two professionals Dagenham & Redbridge on Monday 20th July.

Pre Match Thoughts
My assistant Mark Hams picked this team... looking quite like the one I fielded at Leatherhead but with the new signings in the team. Obviously I'm not expecting a win against a professional side but I will be looking for my team to play competative football either way.
Match Report – First Half
In a sloppy half full of mistakes Dagenham & Redbridge took the lead on 25 minutes after a deflected shot left Luke Garrard stranded when the rebound came in. Impressive play from Kingstonian saw the ball find its way to tony Bedeau on the right wing who crossed it back to Tommy Williams. Williams took his shot but put it narrowly wide of the far post.
Match Report – Second Half
At half time Bobby Traynor, Dean Lodge & Francis Duku came on for Tommy Williams, Tony Bedeau & Max Ellison-Hustwick. The second half was even quieter then the first, with Adam Thompson's 70th minute yellow card being the first noteworthy action. Carl Wilson-Denis & Liam Collins replaced Laurent Cluzel & Ryan Lake as Kingstonian search for an equalizer. Luke Garrard made a fantastic 1-on-1 save to put the bakk out for a corner & keep K's in the game. Des Boateng struck the cross bar in the last 5 minutes but the score remained 1:0 to Dagenham & Redbridge.
Post Match Thoughts
I'm happy with the display desipte losing to Dagenham & Redbridge. We were diciplined & pretty solid against a team in the professional leagues. The game has made me aware of a few areas we need to strengthen in so I'll be looking to address that as soon as I can.

Pre Match Thoughts
This is quite a high profile game for the lads so it will be interesting to see how my line up handle it. It's Carl Wilson-Denis' turn to start up front & show me what he can do; I've got 3 good strikers but there is only space for one of them in my 5-4-1 formation.
Match Report – First Half
Nancy lined up with 4 full internationals in the starting 11, with one being a familiar face in England: Abdeslam Ouaddou played for Fulham for two seasons before returning to france. The French side attacked from the word go & Luke Garrard had to make a save inside the 1st minute. It wasn't to be a suprise result though when Kingstonian went a goal down on 2 minutes, failing to clear a series of passes. After impressive build up play by the K's on the quarter of an hour mark, Carl Wilson-Denis shot just wide. Nancy were almost 2:0 up on 32 minutes but the post saved Luke Garrard from conceeding again. Luke Garrard was called into action again in the K's goal on 40 minutes, making a good save from a long range shot & forcing it out for a corner. A few minutes later Carl Wilson-Denis found himself tripped up inside the penalty box & Kingstonian were awarded a penalty. Matt Gray stepped up to take the spot kick & fired it into the bottem left corner of the goal past the keeper who guessed the right way. Half time Kingstonian 1:1 Nancy.
Match Report – Second Half
K's made 4 changes at the break. On 53 minutes defender Francis Duku was in the right place at the right time as the ball fell to him just outside the Nancy box, he took a massive swing at it & the keeper only just managed to push it over for a corner. No less then 5 minutes later, Barry Palmer made a poor back pass that was intercepted by a striker who put the ball past Luke Garrard to make it 2:1 to Nancy. K's made 3 more changes in an effort to get back into this game that in all honesty isn't that one sided to the professional French side. On the 80th minute Nancy broke free & their striker converted the 1-on-1 situation with Luke Garrard to put them 3:1 up. Matt Gray almost had an instant response but put his shot from outside the box just over. The rest of the match played without any incident & Kingstonian can't be too dissapointed with how they have performed today.
Post Match Thoughts
Not a bad outing against a professional team from the French top flight league. Really nice to see Kingsmeadow packed again for a Kingstonian match, hopefully some of the people who came out to support us will stick around for the season.

Pre Match Thoughts
As we enter our last couple of pre season games, I wanted to use this game with RPV to try out some players that havn't featured so prominently in the friendlies. There is a lot of young players out for us today & hopefully they can show everyone the future of Kingstonian is bright.
Match Report – First Half
Raynes Park Vale opened the scoring against a very enexperianced Kingstonian side on 15 minutes from a corner. The match remained quiete until just before half time when bizarely the ref sent off Carl Wilson-Denis for a second bookable offence in a friendly game. To counteract the loss of the side's only striker, Grundy took Simon Huckle off & replaced him with youngster Christian Lukunku. The first half ended with K's a goal down.
Match Report – Second Half
K's made 3 changes to their line up & the 2nd half kicked off. On 51 minutes the card-happy ref sent off his 2nd player of the game, this time for RPV. Dean Lodge grabbed the equaliser on 67 minutes after a long run from the wing to the edge of the box. The rest of the game was played out like both sides just wanted to leave the pitch after a violent battle in what was supposed to be a friendly game.
Post Match Thoughts
The guys didn't do too badly. They have shown they can be reliable back ups when called upon but I think in order to balance the books with the signing of Craig Pope, I may be forced into releasing a couple of them. As for the attitude in which the game was carried out in... Raynes Park Vale provoked us & fouled us all game so I think we will be calling off our deal with them being our feeder club.

Pre Match Thoughts
This is our last pre season friendly, next time we hit the field it will be serious competative football & I think we are ready for it. I will be sending a strong side down to Walton with those youngsters that impressed me against Raynes Park Vale on the bench. Craig Pope will be making his first appearance at right back.
Match Report – First Half
The first signs of action came in the 26th minute when Laurent Cluzel put a through ball to Liam Collins who then cut inside from the wing but his shot was deflected out for a corner. On 36 minutes Luke Garrard saved brilliantly in a 1-on-1 situation. The half time whistle sounded at the Waterside Stadium & the sides go in to the break level.
Match Report – Second Half
Only 5 K's players that played the first half remained on the pitch for the second half as the action got back underway. Not even 5 minutes into the second half, Walton Casuals won a corner that was swung in & headed towards goal but new signing Craig Pope managed to clear off the line keeping the scores level. Shortly after a repeat situation occurred but this time Luke Garrard showed why he is K's number 1 with another good save. On 54 minutes K's worked the ball down the pitch with excellent passing between Steve Tyson & Tony Bedeau, the ball found it's way to Carl Wilson-Denis who instantly hammered the ball into the top corner of the goal from 25 yards out to give Kingstonian the lead. In the following 20 minutes K's dominated the game with various shots from Carl Wilson-Denis & Bobby Traynor being held by the keeper or going just wide or over. Dean Lodge scored from a magnificent cross from Craig Pope only for the ref to rule it out for offside. Walton Casuals had a chance to equalise at the end of the game but they put it wide. The match ended 1:0 to Kingstonian who go into their first league game off the back of this victory.
Post Match Thoughts
Solid performance from the boys today, especially happy with Craig Pope's first taste of football with us. What on earth am I going to do with my strikers? Before the game I had in my mind Cluzel & Traynor being the top two to chose from with Wilson-Denis 3rd choice but after that 25 yarder I really need to rethink my pecking order! Bring on Maidstone United!

Tomorrow is the start of the 2090/2010 Isthmian League Premier Division season & Kingstonian will travel to Kent to face Maidstone United in their bid to start the campaign off successfully. With no injury worries & a full squad to choose from it should be a very competative Kingstonian side that takes the field.

Pre Match Thoughts
This is it, the big league kick off & I've opted to field my strongest pre season performers for this first game. Cluzel gets the nod up front as he is a new signing & I'd like to see how he fares in a real competative game. Hopefully we can start the season off with 3 points!
Match Report – First Half
The game really didn't start to plan for Kingstonian as some chaotic defending in the penalty area alowed Maidstone United to take an early lead on the 5th minute. With the next 25 minutes rather quite & uneventfull on 27 minutes Laurent Cluzel picked up a good through ball but was muscled off of it as the Maidstone defender put the ball out for a corner. Cluzel almost equalised again for Kingstonian on 38 minutes but sliced his shot just wide. Just before half time, Tony Bedeau picked up the ball on the right wing & fired in a dangeroud cross that was put out for a corner. The score reamind 1:0 to Maidstone United at the half time break.
Match Report – Second Half
Carl Wilson-Denis came on for Matt Gray at half time which meens K's will line up 4-4-2 in the second half. Carl Wilson-Denis fired off one of his long range specialties on 49 minutes but it went wide of the goal & shortly after that Tommy Williams fired a long range free kick over. On 65 minutes Luke Garrard kept Kingstonian in the match with a good save from close range. Garrard was called into action again on the 73rd minute making another good save. Kingstonian made 2 substitutions bringing on Bobby Traynor & Lewis Cook as they desperately try to salvage a point from this first league game of the season. As the game entered the last 10 minutes K's had an amazing chance to pull level but Wilson-Denis chipped the ball over the keeper & over the goal. Kingstonian lost this first league game & Wilson-Denis will be unhappy he couldn't score any of his oppertunities he had in the second half.
Post Match Thoughts
Dissapointing result... there's nothing worse then starting the league off with a defeat. Good performance from some of my defenders but everywhere else on the pitch was a disaster. I'll be shaking thinks up a bit before our next game with Surrey rivals Tooting & Mitcham United.

Pre Match Thoughts
It's the first home league game of the season & after defeat to Maidstone United, I have opted to play a 3-4-3 in an effort to overwhelm the opposition defense. Tooting are a good side with a couple of ex-K's in their team but we should be looking to put them to the sword today.
Match Report – First Half
Just 4 minutes into the game, a long ball over the Tooting back 4 found Bobby Traynor who's first touch let him down & forced him to shoot wide from a tight angle. 4 minutes later it was Tooting's turn to strike the ball just wide of the goal in what has been a very open period to the game. Traynor broke free again on 11 minutes but this time his shot went over the crossbar. On 19 minutes Laurent Cluzel scored his first ever Kingstonian goal with a well exicuted header to put the K's 1:0 up. On the 34th minute Carl Wilson-Denis almost headed in a carbon copy of Cluzel's goal but the header went wide this time. Shortly after, Traynor broke free once more but it wasn't third time lucky for the hitman as his shot was punched away by the keeper, the ball bounced back to Traynor & it wasn't fourth time lucky either as his shot this time was held by the Tooting keeper. At the end of the first half K's held the advantage.
Match Report – Second Half
Tony Bedeau came on for Bobby Traynor who has been quite unlucky today & the second half kicked off. Just after the restart Luke Garrard had to make a good save to stop one of Tooting's former Kingstonian players from scoring against his old club, from the resulting corner Dean Lodge had to clear the ball off the line. Cluzel almost bagged himself a second goal on 68 minutes but his shot from outside the penalty area missed the goal. On the 75th minute Carl Wilson-Denis thought he put K's 2:0 up but his goal was ruled out for offside. Ryan Lake replaced Wilson-Denis as the match entered the final 10 minutes & Kingstonian started to operate more defensively to try to conserve the win. Despite time wasting & putting every player behind the ball, K's almost finished the game off on the 89th minute as Cluzel's lightning bolt of a shot was parried away by the Tooting keeper. Kingstonian did manage to go 2:0 up in injury time with captain Francis Duku heading in a corner. The match ended 2:0 to Kingstonian.
Post Match Thoughts
Great result! Good to see Laurent Cluzel performing really well & getting his first goal for us. 3-4-3 seemed to work nicely for us so I'll be employing this tactic in the next game.

Pre Match Thoughts
I've decided to stick with my 3-4-3 formation, which unfortunately meens I have to leave out my new wing backs Craig Pope & Barry Palmer for the second game running. Bobby Traynor will start on the bench for us as Bedeau, Wilson-Denis & Cluzel get the nod up front. Keeper Luke Garrard will be getting his 125th league appearance for us today so hopefully he will cellebrate with a clean sheet.
Match Report – First Half
On the 4th minute a Waltham Abbey striker burst through the K's back 3 but his shot was superbly kept out by Luke Garrard. For the first 15 minutes Waltham Abbey were on the attack & the pressure started to show when Adam Thompson conceeded a penalty. The striker sent Garrard the wrong way & K's were 1:0 down. The scoreline was almost doubled instantly when a diving header skimmed just wide of Kingstonian's left post. On 26 minutes an amazing long ball found Laurent Cluzel in acres of space but the offside flag went up. At half time the score was 1:0 to Waltham Abbey.
Match Report – Second Half
At the half time break K's boss Paul Grundy took of Tony Bedeau & Adam Thompson, replacing them with Bobby Traynor & Rob Sheridan. In the 52nd minute K's broke away from the Waltham Abbey defence with the 3 strikers up against 2 defenders; Laurent Cluzel took the ball into the box on his own but blasted his shot over which left manager Grundy fuming as he could have set up unmarked Traynor or Wilson-Denis to tap into an open goal. Hero against Tooting turned villain on 59 minutes as Francis Duku put the ball in his own net, giving Kingstonian a mountain to climb now at 2:0 down. Duku almost redeemed himself a minute later but his shot went wide. Steve Tyson came on for Des Boateng for the final 20 minutes. Just after the substitution, Bobby Traynor stormed down the left wing & put a deep outswinging cross into the box that was met by the head of Cluzel, who fired off his header against the crossbar. As K's put the pressure on, Rob Sheridan managed to find space to shoot in a crowded box but the keeper made a fantastic save. The match ended without much fuss & Kingstonian will have to sharpen up if they are to match the media's prediction as title challengers.
Post Match Thoughts
Utter disaster of a game. We never stuck to our game plan & our defending was a complete shambles at times. I think I'll revert back to 4-5-1 or try out a 4-4-2 variation for our next match as it seems 3-4-3 was a one hit wonder! I'm going to also have to drum it into my strikers to stay onside as we had far too many chances wasted by the flag.

Wednesday 26th August 2009 – Trails Update
Before todays game with Hastings Utd, manager Paul Grundy has issued an update on who has already applied for the Kingstonian trials:
39 year old defensive player Georges Santos is a former professional who has played in the Football League for QPR, Ipswich Town, Grimsby Town, West Brom & Tranmere Rovers. He was more recently playing in the Conference North for Farsley Celtic.
Richard Harris is a local lad originaly from Croydon, he has Football League experience with Crystal Palace, Mansfield & Wycombe. Harris has also played non-league for clubs K's fans will be familiar with including two of the clubs biggest rivals Woking & Sutton United. Harris is a 28 year old striker who can also play centre back..
Richard O'Connor is a name some of the K's fans may remember. He was a Kingstonian player in the 1999-2000 season but failed to make the first team. Since then, 30 year old O'Conner has been playing in the final third of the pitch for local sides like Leatherhead, Hampton & Richmond, Hornchurch & most recently Carshalton Athletic.

Pre Match Thoughts
Duku has been dropped to the bench after his nightmare at Waltham Abbey on Saturday. I've decided to play a 4-4-2 diamond with Tommy Williams at the back & Lewis Cook fronting the midfield.
Match Report – First Half
It took 10 minutes for the first on target shot of the game, Matt Gray bombed down the right flank taking the ball past one opposition player before crossing the ball into Laurent Cluzel who's header was caught by the Hastings keeper. A couple of minutes later Dean Lodge fired wide from outside the box. Bobby Traynor fired just over on 20 minutes as it looks to be all Kingstonian in the first half so far. On the 25th minute K's pumped in a free kick that met the head of Max Ellison-Hustwick, but once more the Hastings keeper proved to be unbeatable. K's need to adopt a new game plan as the same kind of lofty free kick this time found Dean Lodge who controlled the ball & shot with some venom but this Hastings United goalkeeper is catching everything Kingstonian can throw at him. The first half ended 0:0.
Match Report – Second Half
Hastings came out more confident in the second half & this resulted in them taking the lead after a brilliant free kick beat Luke Garrard to make it 1:0 to the Sussex based team. Grundy instantly took Lewis Cook off the field & replaced him with Tony Bedeau. On 67 minutes Laurent Cluzel crossed the ball to Matt Gray who headed home from an impossibly tight angle to make it 1:1. As the match eneted the last 10 minutes Luke Garrard was called upon to make a fantastic double save to keep the scores level.Carl Wilson-Denis came on for Bobby Traynor for the last part of the game. K's goalscorer Matt Gray took a corner from the right side of the pitch & it connected with the head of the smallest guy on the pitch Dean Lodge, who seemed to grow an extra foot to get above the Hastings defenders & give K's the lead late on in the game. Hasintgs almost found an equaliser as they threw everyone up front & the 4 minutes of injury time will be a nervous one for all those in red & white hoops. Luke Garrard held the ball from a shot that came in after a Hastings Corner. Deep into the 4 minutes added on, Hastings got that equaliser they were hunting for as this exciting game took it's final twist. The Kingstonian players were adamant that the goal was offside but the ref waved away all the protests. A thrilling second half performance by both sides & a game to remember for the neutral fan.
Post Match Thoughts
It was an exciting game, incredibly nail biting final 10 minutes. However I am upset that we didn't manage to hold the win after going 2:1 up on the 86th minute. There is still work to do on the side & as more triallists come in, I will sort out some friendlies for them to play in.

Pre Match Thoughts
Take stature & prestige out of the equation, the fact that we are at level 7 of the football pyramid & they are at level 9 meens nothing. I know some managers like to field a few young players of fringe players in these sort of games but for me the first team are coming out. The FA Cup can generate a good bit of money & honour for the club if we can progress to when the big clubs enter.
Match Report – First Half
The first 20 minutes were fairly open when a long ball came over the top to Frenchman Laurent Cluzel, he ran the ball into the box & chipped it over to Carl Wilson-Denis who headed back across goal narrowly missing. In a very cagey first half there was very little else going on.
Match Report – Second Half
Bobby Traynor came on for Carl Wilson-Denis at half time & Kingstonian will no doubt be looking to attack a lot more in the second half. Just after the restart Cluzel speared a shot just wide after a clever build up that he himself started near the half way line. A few minutes later Bobby Traynor shot over. On 56 minutes Traynor was in on goal again but a defender tapped the ball out for a corner before he could let off a shot. K's took the lead on 63 minutes after their seemingly trademark long ball over the defence finding Laurent Cluzel who beat the offside trap, Cluzel's shot was straight at the keeper but it luckily bounced back to him & he shot into the empty goal. A repeat move that scored the goal happened in the 76th minute, this time Cluzel hit the crossbar. Thanks to sheer determination Cluzel got his & Kingstonian's second goal on 79 minutes after Tony Bedeau played a wonderful ball through to the unmarked Cluzel. It was party time for Kingstonian as Cluzel got his hat-trick heading in a cross from Craig Pope.
Post Match Thoughts
My words with the lads at half time seemed to have done the trick as we came out a completely different team. I am speechless about Cluzel's second half performance it was one of the best things I have seen in my time in football. We're through to the 3rd Qualifying Round & I'm eagerly awaiting who we get drawn up against.

Pre Match Thoughts
Wealdstone will proved me with a tough test today as a lot of my players are still tired from the FA Cup game on saturday which has resulted in us playing twice a week for a while now. I'm giving Sam Stannard, Lee Hall & Liam Collins a shout in the starting eleven so we shall see how they get on.
Match Report – First Half
In the first 5 minutes Bobby Traynor shot from outside the box but it was wide of the far post but shortly after, on 8 minutes Wealdtstone took the lead after breaking away from the Kingstonian defence. On the 20th minute Wealdstone doubled their lead after running the length of the box to find space to shoot. Towards the half time whistle Tommy Williams lofted in a free kick that met the head of Francis Duku, who's powerful header was kept out by the Wealdstone keeper, the ball fell to Laurent Cluzel who placed his shot straight at the now back up to his feet keeper. A minute later Tommy Williams found Max Ellison-Hustwick on the near post but his shot, like all before it, was dircetly at the Wealdstone number 1. In the dying seconds of the half K's almost found themselves 3 down but Liam Collins cleared off the line. Not a good half for Kingstonian.
Match Report – Second Half
Carl Wilson-Denis came on for Liam Collins as Kingstonian change to a 3-4-3 to try score some goals in this game. Just after the restart K's found themselves 3:0 down when a Wealdstone strikers shot cannoned off both posts behind the helpless Luke Garrard & went in. With 20 minutes left to go the Wealdstone attack out-jumped Francis Duku & headed the ball in to make it 4:0. Lee Hall almost got a consolation goal after running the ball through the defence but shot wide. Bobby Traynor also shot wide with under 10 minutes to go & Carl Wilson-Denis headed wide. Deep into injury time Wealdstone beat the K's offside trap & made it 5:0. The match ended 5:0 to Wealdstone.

Absolutly shambolic in all areas of the field. Tiredness can only be blamed to a point, & this overstepped that point when it was at 3:0. Really going to have to shake things up before our next game.

Thursday 3rd August 2009 – Friendly match announced
Paul Grundy will be taking his Kignstonian first team the short distance to Tolworth to play Corinthian-Casuals in a friendly match on Sunday 6th August. Due to the lack of any football this weekend, K's boss Grundy commented that it would be a good oppertunity to keep his players match fit & to integrate one or two triallists into the side.

Pre Match Thoughts
Firstly I'd like to thank Corinthian-Casuals for agreeing to this friendly match. I have got the oppertunity now to test out some of the triallists in the first team to see how well they integrate as well as being able to keep some of my key players match fit for next weekends FA Cup tie.
Match Report - First Half
Inside 2 minutes Corinthian-Casuals managed to find space to fire a long range shot that only just missed Paul Cuss' right post. On 8 minutes Matt Gray took a free kick for The K's but put a little bit too much power on the shot as it went over. Tony Bedeau linked up well with triallist Richard O'Conner, with O'Conner only managing to find the side netting from a tight angle. On 32 minutes O'Conner was in the action again, this time linking up well with fellow triallist Richard Harris, only for the shot to again go over. Half time 0:0.
Match Report - Second Half
With the exception of Dean Lodge, the second half squad was full of triallists. On 53 minutes Lodge crossed the ball in from the left wing & it met the head of sub Lee Clitheroe, but he could only head it just wide. Corinthian-Casuals had their best chance of the game so far on 77 minutes when they picked apart the K's defence but managed to miss the goal from 6 yards out. In the last 10 minutes Corinthian-Casuals took the lead when a cross from the wing met the striker who had stretched out further then Martin Reed to stab the ball into the net. In the 90th minute, Kingstonian got their equaliser, Dean Lodge played well to get the ball into the box where Richard Harris was waiting to sweep the ball under the keeper. The match ended 1:1.
Post Match Thoughts
Solid in the first half, in the second we were a bit gappy in areas but that is to be expected when most of the players I had out have never played with eachother before. Good little excersise & we're now ready for the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round game with Brackley Town.

Pre Match Thoughts
Brackley Town are a Southern Premier side, so they are the same step on the pyramid as us... only difference is they are currently 2nd in their league & unbeaten. This is going to be a tough game but I have confidence in my squad.
Match Report - First Half
In a very even half, Lewis Cook put the ball through to Carl Wilson-Denis on 23 minutes, however a defender managed to get back & disposses Wilson-Denis. On 36 minutes Dean Lodge sent a long ball from the left wing to the right of the box where Carl Wilson-Denis met the ball, controlled it & put it past the Brackley keeper to make it 1:0 to Kingstonian. Luke Garrard managed to keep the scores level by pulling off a fantastic save. Half time K's hold the lead.
Match Report - Second Half
No subs were made at half time. Just after the restart Wilson-Denis was through on goal again, but was fouled in the box resulting in a penalty. Steve Tyson blasted the ball into the net from the spot to give K's a 2:0 advantage. Brackley pulled a goal back on 54 minutes. Wilson-Denis could have got his second goal when he stuck his foot out to meet a Matt Gray cross but only managed to stear it wide. Tony Bedeau came on for Lewis Cook in the attacking midfield position. On 67 minutes, the Brackley keeper had a moment he will want to forget as his controll from a back pass let him down, meening Laurent Cluzel could come in & dispossess him & tap the ball into the open net to make it 3:1. With 15 minutes left to go, Brackley scored again making it 3:2 to The K's & set up an exciting final period of the game. Deep into injury time Brackley fired a spectacular shot from far out of the box just over Luke Garrard's goal. The game ended 3:2 & Kingstonian are through to the 4th Qualifying Round.
Post Match Thoughts
Great game, kind of worried about our lack of composier to finish off the game. We had so many chances in that game but our finishing let us down. Having said that, a win is a win & I am so happy we have made it into the next round of the FA Cup.

Sunday 13th September 2009 – FA Cup draw & Glen Downey
Kingstonian get their third home tie of the FA Cup in the 4th Qualifying Round & their oppenents will be Blackfield & Langley. This is the round all of the Conference North & South sides enter, so the fact that The K's were at home was a bonus... then after the Wessex Premier side were drawn out of the hat the Kingstonian representatives must have been relieved. So far Blackfield & Langley have beaten Harlow Town & Armthorpe Welfare.
Central defender Glen Downey has signed for Kingstonian after a successfull trial period with the club. Glen Downey has played for clubs like Scarborough, Grimsby Town & most recently Worksop Town.

Match Report - First Half
Kingstonian set out to attack from the word go & Dean Lodge fired the first shot on goal at 43 seconds. 2 minutes into the game Luke garrard saved an excellently taken free kick, the keeper did just enough to tip it out for a corner. Just after 15 minutes Bobby Traynor fired just wide after good build up play for The K's. On 25 minutes Carl Wilson-Denis fired over in a preiod of pressure from Kingstonian. On 31 minutes against the run of play Canvey Island took the lead from a long range shot. Half time K's 1:0 down.
Match Report - Second Half
At half time Lewis Cook & Carl Wilson-Denis were replaced by Tony Bedeau & Laurent Cluzel. 5 minutes after the restart Matt Gray's shot was tipped over by the keeper. Pressure from Kingstonian for an equaliser continued into the 55th minute when after bouncing it around the box but not beeing able to make space for a shot, the ball fell to Craig Pope outside the box who drilled it wide of the goal. K's get the oppertunity the need in the 65th minute when Dean Lodge was fouled in the box & a penalty was awarded. Matt Gray converted the important penalty & the score was level. On the 70th minute mark, Bobby Traynor rifled a shot against the cross bar from just inside the box. K's had a free kick inside their own half on 75 minutes, the ball was flicked over to Matt Gray in the penalty box who controlled the ball & scored his & Kingstonian's second goal. Just after Kingstonian took the lead, Luke Garrard kept them ahead with a fine save. Defender Francis Duku came on for striker Bobby Traynor for the final 10 minutes. Kingstonian ended the match victorious after going in behind at half time.

Pre Match Thoughts
This is such a massive massive game for the club, we havn't played Sutton competatively since 2004 & further more havn't beaten them competatively since 2003. Our paths went seperate ways, they went up & we went down but its the here & now that matters, we are back in the same league & we'll be giving it all we've got to claim 3 points off of Sutton United tonight.
Match Report - First Half
Francis Duku left his defensive position to almost head Kingstonian into an early lead on 4 minutes after quick movement to get the ball down the pitch. Luke Garrard made a good save from a Sutton shot on 21 minutes. Just 2 minutes later, Dean Lodge went down from a rough tackle & the ref saw fit to send the Sutton Untied player off leaving them with 10 men on the field. Immediatly after the red card, Tony Bedeau fed the ball to French star striker Laurent Cluzel who put the ball into the net. He's really going to make a name for himself at Kingstonian if he can win the Sutton derby! On 30 minutes, Matt Gray took a corner that found Cluzel on the near edge of the box, Cluzel then turned skillfully leaving his marker wrong footed before taking a shot on goal that deflected its way into the net to make it 2:0. The goal officially counted as an own goal by the Sutton player. A great half for The K's ends with them firmly incharge here.
Match Report - Second Half
In a much more settled half, on 76 minutes Laurent Cluzel was through on goal at angle, unfortunatelty he hit the ball straight at ths Sutton keeper who held it well. Luke Garrard did well to keep his clean sheet in the dying seconds & Kingstonian ended up winners in this Surrey derby match.
Post Match Thoughts
Absolutly outstanding result! We beat Sutton & we're now on a run of wins which will boost everyone at the club. I want to thank the K's supporters who didn't stop singing all game!

Pre Match Thoughts
It's FA Cup time again for my lads & after putting Sutton to the sword mid-week we are more then up for the challenge of this Wessex Premier side. Rumours are Kingsmeadow will have a bumper crowd today with certain news sources stating there will be a crowd of 600 plus.
Match Report - First Half
On 11 minutes Dean Lodge ran with the ball through the Blackfield back line & took a shot into the corner of the goal that was deflected out by the keeper for a corner. K's put the pressure on all half but shots from Lodge, Laurent Cluzel & Carl Wilson-Denis all found themselves going over or wide. The score was 0:0 at half time.
Match Report - Second Half
Bobby Traynor came on for Carl Wilson-Denis at half time as K's try to search for the victory. Adam Thompson scored his first goal of the season from point blank range on 49 minutes to give Kingstonian the lead. Luke Garrard made a good save on 54 minutes to keep The K's infront. Francis Duku came on for Laurent Cluzel with 10 minutes to go to strengthen the defence. Substitute Francis Duku finished the game off on 87 minutes to make it 2:0 to Kingstonian.
Post Match Thoughts
Not the best performance, 2 goals from the defence suprised & impressed me though. Well, we are through to the 1st Round of the FA Cup for the first time since reaching the club's record 4th Round in 2000/01 but due to a change in the format of the cup, the league teams don't enter untill the 3rd Round.

Pre Match Thoughts
We've played a lot of games in a short space of time so it's time to give some of my key players a well deserved break. Ashlee Jones & Luke Pigden are making their senior debuts today aswell so good luck to them.
Match Report - First Half
Harrow took the lead on 16 minutes with the games first real chance after some bad defending from Kingstonian. Bobby Traynor shot over from just inside the box on the 30th minutes. Harrow doubled their advantage on 33 minutes with a long range wonder goal that left Ashlee Jones standing their. Half time K's have a lot of work to do at 2:0 down.
Match Report - Second Half
Simon Huckle came on for Bobby Traynor at half time & Tony Bedeau took up the second striker position. Kingstonian found themselves 3:0 down on 57 minutes as things went from bad to worse for the tired squad. The second half went quite quickly after the 3rd goal untill Harrow scored yet another goal with 8 minutes left to play. Deep in injury time Harrow finished off the humiliation as K's slumped to their second 5:0 defeat so far this season.
Post Match Thoughts
I really do not know what happened their, we let them run all over us in the game & couldn't even string a few passes together. Harrow were bottem of the table but they still managed to smash us. It's time to mix things up again; Bobby Traynor has not managed a goal under me so far & as much as I know he is a legend here things are going to have to change fast because we need another consistent striker to partner Cluzel.
