Wirtz best game for us and if anyone doubts Virgil is the GOAT then watch the full sequence of Salah missing and hittting the post. The way he calmly played out the back when most CBs wouldve just booted it, shows theres levels to this. Lastly, but we already know this but Robbo is actually finished at the top level. His legs have completely gone, and any ball in behind is basically a chance to go at the defence.

Like Kloppo’s great Red sides, inject this awesome adrenaline fix into my veins. This highest of high highs from let off’s like that you just can’t describe unless you are actually there with friends to experience them live. Let this ballsey swagger that is in this City’s DNA, feeling and knowing we are the best of the best out there ,anywhere; completely untouchable in a football sense, last forever!

God it’s F brilliant to be us! 😍

First test in Europe, against one of the hardest sides on the Continent to play and beat, passed. ✅

We could have a straight forward , routine, 2/3 goal victory. As it should have been after the blistering start. We could have saved any questions about losing a 2 goal lead. For the third time this season already. And second at home. The ref could have disallowed Atleti’s mad first, as he should have, and let the game play out to its inevitable routine, comfortable win for L’pool. But then where’s the fun in that? I mean many could argue that it’s a lot easier on there nerves. Which I totally get along with anyone’s concerns. But if all that had happened, we’d have been deprived of that awesome release after big Virg’s last gasp winner. Honestly, when you are at a game, there is NO better way to win a game of football. That adrenaline rush, arms and bodies everywhere ….. that release of pure, unadulterated euphoria ….. that is why you do it and why you make the massive sacrifices you do to follow them every week. Moments and memories. That’s what football support is ALL about. And to get that let off of another last kick winner, for the 4th time in 5 this season ….. I aren’t articulate enough to describe just how brilliant a shared, collective emotion that is when you are at the match. Routine wins are brilliant of course. And they’ll be coming again sooner rather than later. But to have that release at the end, to float out the ground on Cloud 9, and wake up absolutely buzzing for the second time in 4 days ….. there is NO natural or chemical induced high that can top that.

And the best part with this team, yet again nowhere near their best, as well as they played in spells, was the inevitability factor that the winner would come. No anxious shout-outs and annoyance at taking our foot off the gas and letting them back in. No lads arguing among themselves at dropping 2 points from a winning position. No panic among the crowd. Just a collective calm and expectancy that they’d find a way. The way champions and proper great sides do. It’s a Utd Ferguson-esq inevitability. You just never don’t think, with their ridiculous mentality, that they won’t find a way. That unwavering belief that whatever knocks they take, their mentality is so much stronger than any other side they face, they’ll still be the ones laughing at the final whistle. What pretenders to our crown like Arsenal don’t have as they haven’t gotten over the line. What you get from being the best of the best. And the calmness of the players to not panic, to not just launch balls in, but to calmly keep playing our way and probing, knowing that one chance they need will be there, is also brilliant to see every game as they’ve evolved another level now with the swagger of champions and knowing no other side out there can live with them.

And don’t let any Internet S/stirrer try tell you it’s ‘luck’ either. That’s just a defensive, coping mechanism as their own sides don’t have the relentless. champions mentality your Slot L’pool side has. You used to say the same about Ferguson’s great Utd sides. That they’d ‘Scrawned another late winner/ their luck has to run out soon/ this isn’t sustainable/ refs are making sure they win’ et al. It was petty nonsense as they ultimately were what they were. Some of the best sides this Country has ever seen. And their relentless mentality created that perceived ‘luck.’ And made them as nailed on inevitable, most every game, as nailed on inevitable gets. And this gang of majestic Reds are exactly the same as they go around laying down their own dynasty era of dominance. And every other fan knows it and are scared to say the reality of what we are. Inevitable.

Bring on the mongrels Sat’day dinner! A routine win would be sound. But if you want to give us another unmatched rush of a last kick winner in their Cup Final, that will be real welcome too!

Up the P boiling Reds!
