Markovic completed his medical at Fenerbahce so that one seems all but certain for the year.

Hopefully there's some permy moves out before the deadline.

The loan of Markovic to fener with Lallana injured and prone and Ibe just not there yet is surpass me.

I think it's better he went out on loan, though.

Won't have got enough minutes here and if needed the likes of Ings and Origi could play wide for a short period

if any of our wingers should have went out on loan it should have been ibe hes similar to orgri both got potential but not good enough now

WOOT! Borini finally no longer our problem.

This is turning out to be a GREAT day.

*Edit* Enrique close to West Brom too by all accounts. Clubs agreed. Just his stubborn *** and the contract he's currently on.

I may get a few responses to this, but i actually think Enrique is a half decent player. Unspectacular but at one point he was quite good. I remember he was close to a Spain call-up at one point

Think he could do okay at a mid table club, but it's obviously his 65k a week wages that's the problem

Nah, I think that's a fair summation.

He's not the required quality that should be wearing red (although we've had more than enough substandard players the last 2 decades to last us a life time); but he's not a bad player who could do a decent job for someone. My only real gripe with him (outside of his recent revelations about preferring to stay on his ticket here rather than go home and play actual football) is he's poor defensively.

But when he said he'd turned down offers to play down to the money he's on here, I lost a lot of respect for him and just want him gone at this point.

Yeah, he's just not good enough for Liverpool and admitting money was a priority (which is always a silly thing to do whether it is or not), and then doing his social media thing, i can see why some fans don't like him at all

I like the way the squads reducing in terms of the Europa League.

Outside of him bringing in a bunch of kids, we should be putting out a mixture of pretty darn strong teams and be having a real go at it for once.

Talking FB's, Manquilho would of been nice for the Europa.

How we got 8M(potentially 10m) for Borini defies belief. He showed talent but never performed for us so were lucky to recoup the most part of what we payed Roma.
Also agree with Marshall about Enrique, he is a decent player but when he came out and said he would rather sit on our bench and collect his paycheque here rather than losing money to play regularly I lost all faith and support in him. Hopefully he goes as we have a bloated squad and could do with him off our wagebook.

Doesn't look like Enrique's going anywhere.

Which is a disappointing end to a very solid window.

Ilori looks likely to join Villa on loan with a 1m fee and an option to buy

Seems a strange one, especially the option to buy. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors but he must have not impressed in pre-season/training

He looked WELL short of PL level in the under-21 championships in the Czech Republic this past summer. And friends who watch the U-21's say he's looked nothing special last year either. Not bothered at all to see him probably done at Anfield.

So one out, one in the final day. (The Brazilian kid we've had on trial for a while.). Pitty we're stuck with Enrique and his wages that he'd rather pickup than actually go somewhere and play (makes a mockery of the job description. Professional footballer ..... who isn't arsed about playing football); but a pretty darn good window all round.

By my reckoning, our transactions have been:

In.

£ 3.5 M. Charlton. The man, the myth, the living LEG-END Joe freaking Gomez!
Free. Bolton. Adam Bogdan.
* Burnley. Danny Ings.
Free. Man City. James Milner.
£ 10. M. (Possibly rising to £12M.). Southampton. Nathanial Clyne.
£ 21 3M (Possibly rising to £28. 4M.). Hoffenheim. Roberto Firmno.
£ 32.5 M. Aston Villa. Christian Benteke.

*Tribunial- Still to be heard. (£6- 8 million.).

And a couple of young prospects:
£ 500K. Internacional. Allan Rodrigues De Souza.
£ 400K. Imperial Academy. Taiwo Awoniyi

9 players in for £ 68.2 M. (Possibly rising to £ 77.3 M.). With the Ings fee to be determined.

Out.

Free. Released. Steven Gerrard.
Free. Released. Glen Johnson.
Free. Released. Brad Jones.
£ 5. M. Seville. Iago Aspas.
£ 2. M. (Possibly rising to £ 4M.). Sunderland. Sebastian Coates.
Loan Cancelled. Atletico Madrid. Javier Manquillo.
£ 44. M. (Possibly rising to £ 49. M. - £ 9.8 M. To QPR 20% Sell on.). Man. City. Raheem Sterling.
£ 3. M. West Brom. Ricky Lambert.
£ 8. M. (Possibly rising to £10. M.). Sunderland. Fabio Borini.

9 players out for £ 52.2. M. (Possibly rising to £61.1 M.).

By my calculations, a net spend of £16 M. (Possibly rounding out at around £22/24.2 M. if all clauses are met.).

With a load of promising kids out on loan.

No need to dissect the individual transfers, but some terrific, and early, business done.

Disappointed we still neglected goalkeeper and centre back (which will surely be the next window aim); but overall VERY happy with both the business we've done and the way we've gone around it.

On paper, you can make a good case that we're at least as strong as our realistic competitors for to get back into the top 4, Arsenal and Utd.
